Your charming cabin getaway is located between the pleasant town of Sandy and Timberline Lodge atop Mt. Hood. It is also about an hour from downtown Portland and PDX airport. This stellar location gives you convenient access to several beautiful parks and year-round skiing up on the slopes of Timberline. Popular summer activities range from kayaking at Trillium Lake and white water rafting the Deschutes River to horseback riding, mountain biking, and tubing. Winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding are also abundant, as well as snowshoeing and Cosmic tubing. With snow prevalent during the winter, we keep our driveways as clear as possible. Chains for your car are also required for travel during the winter to navigate the mountain roads; however, you will not need them to travel to the cabin. Shuttles go up to the mountain ski areas, with the pickup location being just down the road from the property. Scheduled pickups and drop-offs must be researched in advance.
Please note that this property has exterior-facing security cameras onsite. Cameras point exclusively to the driveway and cannot see the inside of the home and hot tub.
Let the serenity of mountain living in Riverbend Cabin #2 make your next vacation comfortable, relaxing, and one to remember! We look forward to welcoming you into our paradise nestled in the beauty of Mt. Hood.
The river behind the house was amazing. The hot tub was really nice as well
The cost for everything has seemed to increase exponentially to include renting old cabins. This property is set on a beautiful bend in the river. It’s a small 2 bed with a loft. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the rest of the cabin was somewhat clean, and the hot tub was lovely. However, we had to wash a bunch of the dishes prior to using them. Some locks on the windows were broken. The floors are sloping pretty dramatically, so much so that you sit downhill from the person sitting across from you at the dining table. The couch is old and not super comfortable. The dvd player couldn’t be hooked up because it looks like what shelf potentially use to hold the dvd player had ripped off the wall based on the unpainted putty below the tv. Which was a bummer because they have a HUGE dvd collection. My husband and I aren’t super picky people, but we do get disappointed when we pay a lot money for something and don’t feel we got what we paid for. The location to the mountain is great. If you have dogs, the road isn’t super busy, but people drive fast, so it isn’t very dog walkable.
This property was the perfect home spot for our 3 generation mother-daughter trip.
This was a gem of a cabin! Lots of space, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, the view from the hot tub is beautiful, right on the river. I would be happy to stay here again and again.
Spent 3 nights in the #2 Cabin and enjoyed every single minute! We spent time on the river, which is just a couple of steps from the cabin! Time in front of the fire and time in the cozy hot tub! I even pulled out my fly rod and threw a few casts out on the Sandy! The yard was so great for my dog Keg, as was the river! We will be back for sure!
The hot tub and view of the river were enjoyable. The property manager was actively involved, though I was getting correspondence from two different people, which resulted in confusion. The cabin is cute and livable but has problems. We brought bottled water but the odor of rotten eggs was evident anytime we turned on the water to wash dishes, shower etc. We reported having an unusable tea kettle, a broken microwave handle, and a problem with bugs. They did bring a new tea pot and they said they had a pest control service. We killed at least 10 flying bugs. We felt the cabin was overpriced for what it offered.
Cons: Apparently well water in this area has a sulfur smell that doesn't make it bad to use, but does make it very smelly to use. The host said they'd try to adjust the well water filters to improve it, but it didn't happen for our stay. The location is right off a forest road on a turn and the road is visible from the yard, so it can be a bit hair-raising to find the right driveway and get up to speed when leaving again and privacy isn't super high. If the third cabin on the property finishes being remodeled and is occupied, there won't be much truly private outdoor space at all: there's a lattice between this cabin and the first cabin, but you can still see through it. The inside has been remodeled, but the building is definitely old. The host wants you to keep the pet off the furniture or bring a dog bed. The river is somewhat rocky and tricky to get near, good for looking moreso than getting into unless you're super adventurous. Pros: It's cute, it's just the right size for a small getaway, our dog loved running around the beach area and a dog bed was provided. The kitchen is pretty well stocked and a good grocery store and restaurants are minutes away. The road was quiet and we didn't feel exposed. Everything worked and it was exactly what we needed, complete with a babbling brook and nature! The concierge/host was helpful with a recommendation for kayak rental at Trillium Lake, but we ended up just staying in and grilling and sitting by the river and soaking in the tub
The house carpet were dirty, the house isn’t level, the trees need to be thinned or cut down for the view, you can’t hardly see the view of the river. That was one of the main reasons I wanted to Say there. Very disappointed. That house needs work inside and out. I would not stay there again.
Beautiful property
The house was super cute. Great deck and view. Very responsive property management!
Beautiful river/trees on the property. So nice to open all the windows and let the breeze in and listen to the river. The cabin is one of 3 on the same property and quite close to the other cabins and the road (although not much traffic). The cabin was not as clean as we would have liked, the dishes had dried food on them etc. It had most appliances, utensils but no olive oil. Close to mountain activities like hiking, lakes etc. Hot tub was very foamy so we didn’t stay in for long. Overall a beautiful location but in our opinion not worth the price due to dirtiness and closeness to other cabins.
From noisy LA to this dreamy place ! Always looked for a place like this! It’s perfect !! Plus the Instagramable pictures! This place has all we need to enjoy Nature quietness and beauty! Can’t wait to come back again!
What a great place to stay! Has everything you need to head up to the mountain and enjoy time away from the city anytime of the year! Love the hot tub, fire pit, and location.
close to timberline to ski.& hot tub and fire next to the river for after activities under the stars, had a lil water problem but they worked it out quick the property manager is quick to respond and get stuff fixed it something is wrong
Cute cabin right next to river w hot tub and fire pit. Had everything we needed. A little smaller than we anticipated and neighbors very close.
It was awesome space to relax for a few days. Right on the river, it added a special ambience to the quiet stay. We enjoyed the hot tub and indoor wood strove. What a great cabin to enjoy a getaway.
This was perfect for our family of four and our dog.
Great location to enjoy a ski vacation with my family of 4.
This is a great place to stay for access to Mt Hood. The location on the river is stunning and the cabin is clean and cosy. We found it a little tight for six people (there are plenty of beds but not enough seating) but it would be ideal for four.
