This property is a 3 bedrooms / 1 bath cabin and can sleep up to 6 people. There is a king bed, two double beds, and two twin trundle beds. All beds have brand new mattresses, pillows, sheets, and comforters, which will surely provide a good night's sleep!
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials needed in order to prepare any meal. We offer our guests complimentary coffee and tea to enjoy. The is a Food Lion & Walmart nearby, so it is easy to grab groceries on the way to our place.
Sit back and relax in our cozy living room and dining room, which offers a variety of board games, puzzles, an acoustic guitar for campfire jamming, and a Smart TV, where you can log in to your own streaming services. In the basement, you will find another Smart TV that our guests can log in to. An exciting additional feature you will find is an Arcade 1 UP Infinity Game table, which we know all friends and families will enjoy. Outdoors you will find plenty to keep you and your guests occupied! Simply cross a country road to our private lot for easy access to the river where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, or tubing. In the backyard of the cabin, there are two kayaks and one canoe that our guests are welcome to use at their own risk. One mile to the left down Grover Hill River Road is a public boat slip to launch a canoe, kayaks, and inner tubes for a one-hour calm float back to the cabin. Grill away on our brand new charcoal grill and enjoy your meal on the deck overlooking the Shenandoah River. Sit by the fire pit and roast s'mores and take in the beautiful surrounding views of the river and mountains or relax in the hot tub at night gazing at stars.
Skyview River Retreat is near many of the area attractions, such as Luray Caverns (12.2 miles - 19 min drive), Massanutten Ski Resort (14.1 miles - 22 min drive), and the Shenandoah National Park (17 miles - 22 min drive).
Other things to note:
While we do offer WIFI to our guests due to the remote nature of the cabin, the internet is provided by a satellite provider, which can be unreliable and make streaming difficult.
Please keep in mind, the cabin is located in the woods, therefore you will likely see insects. We have regular professional pest control service for bugs, mosquitoes, etc. Please keep doors and windows closed, as they may come inside when doors are opened, especially when lights are on inside.
Please note, there are security cameras, which are located on the exterior of the house only, they are for home and guest security and do NOT record private locations such as windows, hot tub, any interiors of the home, and are NOT intended to infringe on another person’s privacy.
We really enjoyed our stay. There was a few issues with the hot tub but we made the owners aware and hopefully it will be fixed. All in all though it was a great with family we will definitely be back
Exactly as advertised. Good spot. Planning on a return visit.
Great location. We enjoyed a nice long weekend. It was great to be right on the river. We sat and relaxed at the river, fished, had bon fires each evening. We had a great afternoon tubing down the river. It was so relaxing and still only 20 min to Luray. We hiked to Dark Hollow Falls, drove the scenic Skyview parkway. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were so very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
My family of 6 had a wonderful long weekend at the Skyview River Retreat! It was exactly as described. Comfy, cozy beds with plenty of extra blankets. More than enough bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Towels for the hot tub too. Loved the extensive DVD collection with two DVD players. My boys loved the game table. Lots of board games too. Awesome firepit with amazing views of the river! Used the kayaks which was a nice bonus. Our only issue was that the previous renters left the hot tub in an unusable condition (which was completely out of the owners hands) and because it was a long holiday weekend, the hot tub maintenance company was unable to come out until Monday, but we were able to squeeze in a couple of uses and were compensated for not getting full use. We were close to Shenandoah National Park and also visited the Shenandoah Caverns which I highly recommend! Would definitely stay here again!
This was our first VRBO experience and it was fantastic! The cabin itself was lovely and the extras (hot tub, fire pit, riverside location etc.) made it feel extra special.
This place was absolutely adorable.! The owners were extremely pleasant and very attentive. However, we were not aware of the train that is directly behind the property that runs often in the middle of the night. In fairness, we may have missed it in the description! A few other nuisances (internet connection was more than “spotty”, almost nonexistent- not able to watch a movie in full). Overall, it was very relaxing and serene. Not sure that we would revisit, but it was nice ( for the most part)
This house was very nice although the beds are pretty hard it did not ruin the trip. The floor was very squeaky also so not good for bottom floor light sleepers. The creek was nice, my nephew fished. The selection of coffee was great as well. We enjoyed smores in the fire pit and loved the hot tub. WIFI was awful so dont count on watching television. But who needs television with the view from the balcony. Thank you so much for letting us stay.
Did not like the TV set up with streaming all programs Streaming was too slow. Also did not like that we had to. Ring our trash home with us
Awesome space with a beautiful view from the deck. Clean house with everything you need!
Beautiful, scenic, and relaxing! We loved the plentiful outdoor options for the kids, the firepit, the river with float trips, swimming, fishing, and so much more! The property was very clean and the host was very attentive to our needs!
Our family had a perfectly relaxing week at SkyView River Cabin. We spent the week fishing (and catching a ton of bass!), tubing down the river, soaking in the hot tub and ending each night with a fire and s'mores. The house was fully stocked, the beds were super comfy, there were a ton of games to play during the rainy moments. Small downsides would be the single bathroom, the steep driveway and the high speed of the cars that pass by the house was a little unnerving when my son was running to the river. However, all of this was stated by the owner so there were no surprises. We would absolutely rent here again and recommend to another family!
