Shenandoah, Virginia
Cub Run House, a stately brick home built on the banks of the Shenandoah River in 1848, and recently restored, awaits you. The property is a thirty acre working family farm where you can wade in Cub Run Creek, canoe on the Shenandoah River, fish from the dock, or just relax on the high porch and listen to the creek falling over the rocks. On clear nights you will see why Native Americans called the valley "Daughter of the Stars". The farmhouse, pet and smoke free, sleeps six in a master bedroom with queen sized bed, and a family bedroom for a second couple or children that has one full bed and two twin beds. The farm is located just off of U.S. Route 340 and within 30 minutes of the Blue Ridge Parkway, Harrisonburg, Luray Caverns, Massanutten and is almost walking distance from the George Washington National Forest. Come experience the quiet of a bygone era (with modern conveniences), and enjoy the creek, the river, and the farm.
Cub Acre Farm was right up our alley! We love old homes, especially farmhouses. It was secluded, quiet, inviting, and peaceful. The view from the back porch was spectacular and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for our meals. The only thing I would change is the availability of a washer and dryer. We are looking forward to staying again!!
Had an excellent time. The property was clean, well presented and provided us just the break we were looking for. Recommend highly.
This was a dream property! We enjoyed the river access and the home had everything we needed for our family. Beautifully taken care of and updated and comfortable to stay. Highly recommend.
fantastic fun. hope to return in future.
Although our visit was cut short by a family emergency, the three of us felt very much at home in the farm house. The beds were comfortable, the house stocked with family and teenager friendly games (including a Wii!), and the location peaceful with the sound of the river and cows providing nice rural ambience. Our only comment would be that the kitchen needs a collander and a decent chef’s knife! The basket of snacks and waters was a nice touch - handy to sustain us for our hike in Shenandoah NP. Our host was super helpful, providing driving instructions and grocery store information.
The farmhouse meet our needs for a weekend away to visit Luray caverns. The house has everything that we needed, and the house is a bright, cheerful home. The setting is very beautiful and peaceful. Thank you!
We thought the house was perfect for me, my husband and our 5 yr old granddaughter. There is only one bathroom so we wouldn’t have wanted any more people there. Nice beds, towels and linens. The creek was not easy to get to because of overgrowth so we didn’t try. It is the country after all. We were able to drive to the National Park, and children’s activities in Harrisonburg. The only bad thing was there was something dead under the house and they tried to fix it but were unable to clear it out while we were staying there so the smell was pretty awful. Fortunately the weather was amazing and we could open the windows at night. It was so roomy and comfortable and much better than staying in a hotel. Country life is quiet. The owners were very nice.
My family and I stayed here for the weekend, great experience!
