Loved the cabin and the old features. Grew up with double dutch doors so loved that . Loved the way the windows worked. Had good weather so ate outside as well as inside. Definitely could use a new mattress for the living room futon couch but the other chairs were comfortable. Came at the right time for wild blackberries, that were all over the property. Friends came to join us by boat so the dock was a plus. Internet worked great- especially when realized the correct password was right on the router. Completely enjoyed our stay.

We traveled down a narrow, mile long rode. At the end was a cabin looking out to the river. As an artist, the views were everything I could’ve hoped for. I took beautiful photographs. My 3 kids (13yo girl and 10yo boy/girl twins) loved exploring out on the rocks at low tide. We did attempt to swim in the water, each taking a turn to jump in. The water was freezing and very salty, so that one jump was all we could handle - but it was a good laugh. Take note, there is no ladder to get out of the water. My husband had to pull our kids out and 2 of them cut their legs on the wood dock. The cabin itself was a true wood cabin but with electricity, plumbing, and wifi. It was clean enough, although there were a few stains on the twin beds’ comforters. My kids opted not to use them. The stand in shower was very small with little space to move. The shower lining should be changed out for new as it was very dirty at the bottom. The kitchen was clean. One unnerving thing was when a whole group of people came onto the property and walked down to the dock where my kids had just been playing. They did not introduce themselves. Then, a woman came and said it was the owner and they were taking the boat out. It would’ve been nice to be notified beforehand or at least had the owner come up to my husband or myself to introduce himself as we were outside. What if our kids were still out at the dock? It frightened me a bit.All in all, we had a good experience. I would recommend staying here.

At the end of a windy road lies a log cabin away from it all. Quiet and peaceful ambiance with amazing views of the river. I took some beautiful photos. My 3 kids (13yo girl and 10yo boy/girl twins) love exploring on the rocks at low tide. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the deck with coffee and tea just admiring the views. The cabin itself was easy to sleep at night with how quiet it was, not to mention how comfortable the beds were. All in all, a great stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the Boothbay area.

As others have already mentioned, the location is key. Isolated from everything and the cove provides a wonderful experience with nature. Daily activity with Terns, Cormorants, Heron, seals etc. We enjoy rustic cabins and this one had so much charm. The key part is the deck overlooking the cove and river. It doesn't get any better than this and we have stayed in many places in this area. we look forward to coming back.

We were honestly shocked when we arrived. The refrigerator had red sauce splattered all over the front door and the entire side facing the countertop. It was so obvious – how did the cleaning crew or previous guests not see it?We contacted VACASA every single day asking for a cleaning crew to come fix it, but no one ever came. Because of this, we didn’t feel comfortable preparing or eating any meals in the cabin. It completely defeated the purpose of staying at a quiet oceanfront cabin with a nice deck and kitchen where we had planned to cook and relax.

We liked the fact the cabin is secluded and sits off to itself; it reminded me of a hunting cabin in the woods and my wife loved the view of the water. One downside is the house is wired with two pronged outlets so I had to charge my laptop in the kitchen since I still had work to do.

Magical, quiet and private property. I’m a sensitive sleeper and slept great here. It was amazing to wake up to views of the water right from the bedroom. Close to the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden (a must see) and Boothbay Harbor restaurants and shops. Yet far removed for privacy and serenity in the forest on the water. Just magical.

A wonderfully hidden gem. A step back in time. Idealic Maine camp with wood floors and stone fireplace. Absolutely beautiful property with views of the water from every window and evening sunsets to enjoy. Explored the rocky beach and loved the dock!

The cabin was clean and comfortable but is very rustic and dated. We spent most of our time outdoors so the dated and worn appearance didn’t bother us. The back deck provides wonderful views of wildlife…I am pretty sure I watched them pull up a lobster from our “backyard”. The dock offered tremendous fishing. My husband and son caught dozens of mackerel daily and my daughter caught a huge striper! My kids loved exploring the rocky beach area and tide pools for hours. There’s lots to do nearby in Boothbay and Grimes Point beach is just a few minutes away. The only downside about the area is that all the restaurants are super expensive so we spent a lot of time at the Hannaford picking up groceries and cooking at the cabin. We had a great stay in Maine and our favorite time was spent at the cabin. We never wanted to leave!

First, I would I like to say Vacasa is amazing to work with they helped us out tremendously. Also, always get travel insurance. Now, for the part I honestly wish I didn’t have to write a review about. I was sooo excited when I seen this cabin and I snatched it up as quick as I could. The pictures were beautiful that were showed. But to me that did not depict the inside of the house. We got there I had an uneasy feeling. Was told we could come early because the cleaning crew had gotten there early. I’m honestly not sure if there is even one. Lots of Bugs on ceiling in bathroom, cobwebs in windows that could have easily been dusted by supposed cleaning crew I don’t even want to talk about the mattress pads. As my family was looking around the property at various things. I was inside and boy was I in for a surprise. I seen the neat benches at the table that had a built in storage area and i reached over the table to look at the other side and when I did there was a cockroach not just a cockroach but a jumping one. And if you see 1 of those things there are 100s of them throughout the home. I also am aware that it’s a cabin and there will be bugs but I’m not ok with cockroaches those things spread like wildfire Needless to say we left immediately. If I could give the accuracy of the home and cleanliness a 0 I would. We were thankfully able to get all of our money back. We ended up at a cute little inn in the town. The shops were amazing everyone was so nice.

We LOVED the Sailor's Cabin. It was just as pictured in the listing. Beds were comfortable and cabin was well stocked with plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. Loved watching the birds and even saw a seal swim by a few times. Cabin is rustic, but we loved this!
