Relax at our River Front Cabin in Historic Upper Canyon

This cabin would be great for Spring, Summer and Fall … but not so good for winter. Heating was nonexistent for two of the bedrooms and the bath they share - living area had one wall unit that heated a small area in front of it only because the windows and fireplace were so leaky (we figured out that if we lit a fire and set alarms to keep it going all night, helped keep that part of the house above freezing). The door to the bathroom fell off its hinges and the maintenance guy never showed to repair. The bunk bed with a double on the bottom was so wobbly we were afraid it would fall down and hurt someone very badly, and decided to quit trying to use it. Plus, there essentially weren't mattresses on that bunk. The double had an extremely hard, thin, old futon as a mattress, the top bunk appeared normal until trying to straighten the covers and we discovered an enormous depression - like a wreaking ball had been sitting on it for a year or two - no idea how a mattress could get that kind of damage otherwise. So - with below freezing temperatures, no heat in those rooms, and no comfortable place for everyone to lay down, it wasn't as restful as we'd been hoping for. Recommend as a summer place only, until upgraded - and ask if they have new mattresses on the beds. Cute place with lots of potential, but needs some work.

The cabin is very dated & plain. It had an old smell to it. Rustic is just a fancy way of saying needs to be updated. It has a lot of character & could be very charming with just a few cosmetic tweaks. It was clean though. It was very quiet. So much so you could hear the now calm creek that runs along beside it. The wildlife was fun to watch.

Its a wonderful little old home. Has the basic necessities for a short or extended stay. It’s well cared for, just older. It’s clean, just older. Yes, some cobwebs, but nothing a broom can’t handle if you are bothered by them. The property is beautiful and right on the river. We were there during some torrential rain and it didn’t flood. They had great tree swings for the kids, ate dinner on the back patio area each night. The owners and their daughter were amazing. Welcoming, inviting, and caring. We left our dog in the house while we went into town, the torrential rain hit. The owners daughter went and sat with our dog during the storm to make sure she was OK. They really did make it a lovely stay. Would love to see them again!

We loved being right on the river. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Check in was easy and the host was very responsive when needed.

Overall this was an amazing place to stay, the wildlife that came through the back of the property along the creek was the best.
