Elk Garden, West Virginia
Cabin C is situated on a secluded road amid a private, wooded and beautiful setting. Abrams Creek is near many extraordinary recreational sites, but is also its own destination. You are never far from our wild, whitewater stream that runs through a majestic hemlock forest. In some places, the stream is a constant source of energy and playfulness; in other places, it is peaceful and calming, inviting you to soak in its beauty. The forest contains a vast array of plants and wildlife.
The Space
Cabin C is a rustic camping cabin; it has electricity and heat, but no plumbing. It has a microwave, a small refrigerator, a propane tabletop stove that uses the (approximately) 1 lb bottles, and a full-size propane grill (uses 20 lb tanks). We offer tank rentals, including propane, for $5 per day.
The cabins are fully furnished with beds, chairs, table, and other necessary furnishings, but our guests supply their own pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, pots, pans, plates and tableware. There are bunk beds (twin over a full-sized mattress) and a queen bed on the main floor, a queen mattress in one loft and a twin mattress in the other loft. There are portapotties and a showerhouse nearby, as well as sources of potable drinking water.
If you want less rustic accommodations, we have those as well, at very affordable prices.
Guest Access
Near the lodge house and office there is access to a phone with free calls anywhere in the US. There is no WiFi at the cabins, but there is WiFi in the vicinity of the main lodge house.
We are located within 30-45 minutes of many major recreational areas, including Blackwater Falls, Swallow Falls, Dolly Sods Wilderness, the Youghiogheny River, several ski resorts, and Deep Creek Lake. Mount Storm (3 miles) has a general store, gas station, library, motel, sports and recreation store, and public park.
Interaction with Guests
Guests are welcome to interact with hosts as they choose or be as private and secluded as they wish to be. Weather permitting, we have a bonfire most Saturday nights.

The listing said there was a wall heater. They failed to mention that this heater does NOT actually heat up the cabin so we had to go buy our own propane heater or else we wouldn’t have been able to sleep. The listing said there was a shower building. They failed to mention that it is shut down for the season. They got a shower facility in the basement ready for us but we had to wait over 24 hours from our arrival to use it. The listing also said there was potable drinking water near by but it was closed for the season and they did not provide us with any other water.
