Great
We had a very relaxing time at this lake house. The water toys were put to great use! So thankful the toys were there to use. The house was very clean and spacious for our little family. The back deck was so relaxing to drink coffee and watch the lake from, I even saw two humming birds staring at me:) However there were many mosquitoes in the evening that it was impossible to enjoy our fire. That was ok though because we were able to watch a movie all together. Enjoy our stay in Minnesota.
The only issue was that the book that is left to read about our stay and the information on the VRBO website was different. For example the information for Wi-Fi hook name and password was different.
Our family had a good time. The place is clean and it is a very quiet setting. Having more wood available for campfires would be nice so we don’t have to haul any from home.
We had a very peaceful and quiet time. The home fit all 9 of us in our family easily, although we had to be a little creative to get everyone around the tableat meal times. Beds and furniture were comfortable, and the main level with the 2 patio doors looking onto the lake was such a nice view! The home, though close to other properties, feels secluded and private as trees separate the homes. Another review commented on the distance to towns/shopping, and it does take about 20 min to reach the nearest town. The lake was quiet, and during the week we only saw 2 or 3 boats each day. We definitely used the kayaks and paddle boat to their full potential. Our kids enjoyed swimming by the dock. It is a gradual slope in the water, so kids could touch long past the end of the dock. I enjoyed the quiet walking trails, but definitely needed bug spray for those! Overall it was a relaxing and peaceful stay!
Comfortable lake house on a great fishing and swimming lake near Brainerd attractions. It is a little drive to to the nearest town (about a half hour) so come prepared. There is also public water access on the far north end of the lake for bringing your own boat. Our group was 4 adults and 5 children ranging from ages 3-11 and everyone was very happy with the stay.
Overall we enjoyed the stay. The kitchen was well appointed, containing a very nice collection of pots and pans and food storage containers. It could have used some more food prep materials such as mixing bowls and spatulas/spoons. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The linens provided were more than sufficient for our stay. The water toys were used a lot! The kayaks, paddle boards and lilly pad were great to have, especially when a fishing lure got caught in the weeds. The lake bottom around the dock was very mucky, nearly stealing sandals off feet. The location around the dock is not great for swimming, but the sand beach would be sufficient for small kids. The lake is reasonably quiet with lots of pontoons, but not a lot of speed boats. Bring bug spray because it has been a long time since I've had to deal with such an influx of mosquitoes - unbelievable amount of bugs. The listing mentioned there may or may not be firewood - there was very little available. There was a neighbor advertising free firewood, so we grabbed some from them. The listing also noted that there was a charcoal grill available, but there wasn't one on the property. The gas grill worked fine, but we had planned some meals around the charcoal grill. Understand if you book this place that it is about a 30 minute drive to Aitkin or Cross Lake - Emily is about 20 minutes away. If you need something from a store, plan to have to travel. Overall it was a good stay.
We had a great stay! Kids loved the Lilly pad!! Thanks
This is a great spot, very secluded on a heavily wooded lot. The best part were all the awesome water toys - a lili pad, paddle boat, paddle board and kayaks. Kept the kids super busy and we all had a lot of fun. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again!
Listing was as described. Love the the location!
Very quiet location, a nice secluded setting.
Beautiful property, fantastic lake that doesn't have hardly any traffic. Water toys are so much fun. Peaceful relaxing vacation. Couldn't ask for any more. Be aware of the mosquitoes they don't mess around...bring lots of bug spray(they spray the property, would be afraid what it would be like if they didn't).
