The Space:

Our newly-renovated cabin has all the comforts from home, just nestled away in the WV mountains surrounded by old-growth forest bustling with wildlife. Walden Chalet offers a relaxing retreat for couples, small families, or friends -- and is the perfect home base for your adventures!

The cabin includes:

- One bedroom and an additional loft bedroom, both with a king-sized bed

- A convenient deck & grill for relaxing amongst the trees

- WiFi for streaming movies and taking video calls

- Fully-stocked kitchen with a stove/oven and microwave

- Open main room with plenty of natural light through the floor to ceiling windows

- Outdoor fire pit to wind down the evening with s’mores!

- An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: corn hole, volleyball, soccer and kick balls, horseshoes, and many more!

- Dog run for your furry friends!

Directly behind the cabin is the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area: nearly 23,000 acres of old growth forest that’s full of wildlife. You’ll wake up every morning to hear the birds chirping and chipmunks chattering away – and we often see deer, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and even the occasional bear. If you’re looking to get out of the city and recharge in nature, this is the perfect place. (And the best part is you’re only 15 minutes from town!)

You will be provided a copy of the Sleepy Hollow Lot Owners Association House Rules after confirming your reservation, and we will ask you to acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the House Rules.

Beyond the cabin itself, the Hedgesville / Berkeley Springs area is great for so many reasons -- and Walden Chalet is just a short drive to everything. The Woods is one of the top golf courses in the state, with a wonderful spa, hiking trails, and a restaurant/pub as well. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, with dozens of shops and restaurants, and even a brewery and winery!

Pet Policy

We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!

Longer Stays

For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.

Additional Info

Security camera at front of house only. No interior cameras on property.

Please note:

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!

Wi-Fi is included, though due to the remote location it can occasionally be slower or spotty. We recommend downloading any important content in advance so you can fully relax and enjoy your stay.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you embrace the adventure—this peaceful, scenic setting is what makes your mountain escape so special!

Postive: Cabin was very clean. Had issue with wifi, but host fixed it quick. Quiet area. Hot tub was clean and easy to use. Bed was comfortable and appreciated that we had access to controling the temperature inside.Negative: Door lock was a bit hard to lock. Neighbor was closer than expected (didnt bother us but pictures didnt show it).

The cabin itself was clean and nice, but it was 100 degrees outside on checkin day, that week was to be the hottest week, (in the 100's) when we went into

While the cabin was nice, seating and sleeping was rough. Pictures of the cabin are not exactly what is really is. Looks like it is secluded, but in reality, homes within 150 feet. Deck was in poor shape. Upon arrival, pots/pans, glassware all over the counter, not put away. Was looking for a place to relax, renew and refresh, but was not possible. We left on Thursday to go home. Will not use Vrbo again.

We had a great time in West Virginia and the Chalet. The properry was well maintained and the host was very proactive with checking in to see if we arrived and got inside without incident, and to see if we needed anythjng.

This cabin was exactly what we wanted. Wake up with the sunrise over the mountains daily, make a pot of coffee, hear all the birds chirping and waking up with you, light a fire in the wood stove, I mean how can life be better? Reset at night after a hike during the day in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful night sky or grab a shower and watch a movie on the comfy couch and smart tv. Blue Maple provided such a cozy and thoughtful space. We really enjoyed being there, if only for a couple days. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it is here in the spring/fall. We really wanted to also enjoy a brewery or two and due to the timing and staffing in the area had to drive a bit farther for that. Dirt Farm Brewing and Winery had spectacular views! About an hour away but you worth the drive. Very grateful for this comfortable space and being able to stay here when we needed a quick reset from normal daily life.

The trip was perfect, just what we needed - to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city and into the gorgeous country. Tony is a great host! Definitely will rent from him again!

My husband and I had a wonderful minimoon at this adorable cabin in the woods. It was a perfect size with a great jacuzzi on the back deck. Groceries, gas, and activities are about 30 minutes away. Host was very communicative and check in/out process was very easy.
