Nederland, Colorado
This modernized, rustic mountain home is close to nightlife, public transport, the city center, parks, hiking, biking & fishing trails, rock climbing and Trader Joe's! You’ll love the views, location, ambiance, custom details and wood-burning stove. Our place is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (dogs). Here, you get the best of both worlds..mountain surroundings on 10 acres and only 10 minutes to downtown Boulder, 15 to Nederland and 45 to Denver.
The space:
The home is located on 10 acres of pristine private property in the Roosevelt National Forest. With the mountain air blowing through the pines, you'll forget you're only 10 minutes from the city.
**PLEASE NOTE: hot water can take a minute to heat up and pressure can be slightly weak into the bathtub due to it running through a tankless hot water heater. If you’re hoping to take a hot hot bath, you might want to heat up a few pots on the stove and add those to the mix. Comes with the territory. You’re in the woods, enjoy it! :)
Guest access:
There are 2 additional houses on the property and guests are welcome to access every inch of the 10 acres. In addition to the 2 acres of developed land, there are 8 acres of trails surrounding the property, several of which switchback down to Boulder Creek. Guests are encouraged to hike and adventure out directly from the property. There's even a hidden zipline 100 yards from the house!
If you're looking for more space or want to have a family reunion, we have another guest rental on the property. Check it out here: https://www.vrbo.com/2605048 unitId=3175524
Other things to note:
**Please let us know if you’re bringing a dog. We do charge an additional fee of $30/dog, which will need to be paid prior to arrival.
Small rustic cabin with great mountain views and a nice place to relax and unwind.
Cabin was clean and in great location. We had a great time.
Really loved the location and views. The cabin was perfect for my wife and I.
We had such a wonderful stay here! It was clean and easy to manage, and had a beautiful location and comfy beds. The refreshing mountain air heals everything. This house has it all.
This little house was a really nice place to stay in between our camping trips! It was sorta hidden away while also being only 15 minutes or so from the city of Boulder. I’d never used Vrbo before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was very impressed with how easy everything was. The property owner was also very friendly during our interactions and left us a binder with things to do in the area as well as notes about the house.
A most unique location for staying in Colorado that is 10 minutes away from Boulder. Joseph, the host, was very helpful in directions and preparing us for our arrival. All the amenities were as expected and Joseph was a gracious host. The stay was very enjoyable and the location is highly recommended for those who like the sites and sounds of living in the mountains. The roads and scenery match the mountain living.
We loved it! Great area, clean property, and the bed was comfy.
Beautiful Mountain View’s in all directions. Trails on property were not accessible. Unique cabin. Light switch mystery. Location perfect for what we wanted to do.
Loved our stay here! Gorgeous views, everything you need. There are some quirks to the cabin but that just made it more fun! Great deck! Only thing I didn’t realize was it’s a steep drive to the cabin with a few twists.
Very cozy little house. Has a few quirks but nothing major. The bed is a bit tall, but a step stool is provided.
Hubby and I stayed and had a great time. We were away from it all --- yet a short drive to restaurants and grocery stores. The cabin is next to two larger homes, but we never really heard a peep other than the occasional drive by from those coming and going. Overall, it was perfect for a wedding trip and I would recommend it for groups of two!
Very relaxing with good views.
The house was clean, and had all necessary amenities. It was comfortable, and a peaceful retreat up in the mountains. My 2 daughters and I enjoyed hanging out in nature, and the hosts were very receptive and helpful if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend!
If you are looking for some peaceful downtime…this is the place!
Great location. Some interesting features. Had everything we needed.
We loved our getaway at the cabin! It was just as described in the listing and we stayed nice and cozy with the wood fire. Our pup enjoyed exploring the woods stones the property with us, abba we did a nice easy hike nearby as well. Easy access to Downtown Boulder for groceries, a dinner out, etc. The hosts were super responsive and helpful. Wet hope to come back again!
My husband, two dogs and I, enjoyed our stay here very much. The home was beautiful, clean and very close to hiking trails and delicious food choices.
Super cozy and breathtaking views!
First off, communication with Joe was awesome. One night it had iced and Joe gave me a heads up that it might be dangerous to drive and then followed up when it was safe to do so. The wood stove was incredibly warm and cozy. Being aware of the quirks with the lighting was helpful but didn’t bother me. The bed, while high off the ground was a really comfortable mattress. For those that didn’t give the unit 5 stars, I don’t think they understand Boulder’s history and how this place is incredible for where it is. The surrounding area is gorgeous and worth a hike around, try to catch both the sunset and sunrise if you can.
We totally enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was very quaint. Our host Joe was very friendly and concerned about our well being. We were there during a snow storm and the views were breath taking. The property has a lot of history and Joe was willing to share it. We definitely would consider returning!!!!
I booked this for a solo getaway with myself and my pup. It was so cozy and I loved the location. Communication was great too! I’ll definitely be coming back!
My daughter and I enjoyed our week stay. A year ago I stayed in the other (bigger) cabin and loved it too. We brought our dogs who also loved their stay. 100% recommend.
The property has a great location, feels remote yet very close to Boulder. The cabin is clean, cozy and very quiet. The main bed was comfortable and the wood burning stove did a great job of warming up the space quickly. Joseph was responsive and easy to communicate with. All around a great stay!
We loved our stay and plan on staying again next year.
This property was perfect for a weekend getaway! The cabin was clean, quiet, and cozy. The host was very accommodating and responsive. A great choice!
Everything worked. Host responsive to needs. Be sure to ask about Olive’s eggs. One bed 3 feet high was an unexpected challenge. Comfortable. Would consider again.
Cute little cabin with beautiful view. Is quirky, but that’s part of the charm! Joe was a great host, we enjoyed our stay!
A cute eclectic cabin in the mountains, this property is an example of why we like to stay VRBO! There was plenty of space for our 3 people and 2 dogs. We loved visiting Nederland and hiking in West Magnolia. The owner was great and the location amazing
The cabin itself is quirky and beautiful, the drive up is lovely and gave us an excuse to get into the mountains, and the property owner was so helpful when I messed up our reservation that everything was able to be solved quickly and easily! I would very much recommend this property to anyone looking to get out of the hustle of Boulder or the surrounding areas.
Beautiful scenery, very quiet. My wife and I enjoyed our time at this unique property.
