Stayed Jul 13, 2025My 11 year old and I enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Check-in was smooth and communication was prompt. The cabin is definitely rustic (some cobwebs, etc.) but I assumed that going in, so make sure you are prepared. The dehumidifiers on both floors were definitely nice because it was VERY hot and humid outside. They needed emptied at least once daily. The cabin stayed cool and offered relief from our daily adventures. I should have done better research, because we really wanted to fish, but with the water level so high shoreline fishing near the house was difficult to impossible. That was a bummer. We didn't use it because of the extreme heat and pop up thunderstorms, but the firepit is not the greatest. The pit bowl is rusted through with an added grate and it sits on a small flat area on a hill with not much room to sit. I am just saying that if your plan is to sit by the fire, the setup is not the best. Another thing to be aware of, several of the nearby businesses are closed Mon-WedOur Activities:-Mammoth Cave Tour-Buc-ee's BBQ-Zip lining-Explored Glasgow restaurants, stores, and coffee shops-Rented a tandem Kayak (but it was a bust due to bad weather)-Watched the provided DVD movies for movie night-Bowling and Arcade (Ralphie's Fun Center)

Stayed Jun 9, 2025The house was EXACTLY what it looked like in the pics! Was exactly what we wanted and had hunted thru VRBO for 3 months! Mother Nature however was not feeling the love! We ended up having to leave half way through due to a problem with the house. Was no one’s fault - just a by product of country living. The owner was overly accommodating by refunding our entire week. I really only expected partial. If we were ever to come back to the area I would absolutely stay here again!

Stayed May 24, 2025This is an authentic wood cabin, which was great. Perfect amount of space for us as a couple and even for our younger granddaughter who stayed one night. We absolutely loved that it was in the middle of so many trees with a view of the lake, and the wooden back deck and covered wooden front porch were the perfect place to enjoy those. Nice to have a small fire pit area and would enjoy using the dock sometimes with the lake is at a normal level. We would stay again :-). Appreciated the fact that they had dehumidifiers upstairs and downstairs, worked great. Also, host was responsive to questions!

Stayed Apr 10, 2025The house and property were everything we hoped for. Rustic setting without close neighbors. It was very serene and relaxing. We were there after Kentucky had a bunch of flooding so the lake was quite high and was almost to the house so we didn’t utilize the water or the dock but did enjoy the view from the deck. We found the location to be great for adventuring to different areas for new experiences. Spent a day in Cave City/ Horse Cave. A day in Bowling Green. It was easy to get to Glasgow and Scottsville for supplies and meals (we only cooked breakfast at the house). We also went to Buccees for the first time, that was also easy to get to. We had no issues with the WiFi, was able to watch our Hulu at night. Loves our stay and would stay again if the opportunity arises.

Stayed Jul 24, 2024We loved the cabin. Perfect getaway for my wife and I. Hope to visit again soon…. There are two dehumidifier’s that were not addressed in the rental agreement but we figured them out pretty quickly. Overall we loved our stay.

Stayed Jul 31, 2024The remote cabin was rustic, private and just what we were looking for but there was an overwhelming smell in the cabin. I do not want to give a bad review because it was just as we expected and wanted but I have a very sensitive olfactory and asthma issues. We slept in the cabin one night as my lungs acclimated but the migraine started from the smell. It smelled of mold/mildew and I was very sensitive. We were very disappointed to not be able to stay our allotted time. The owners were very gracious about refunding our costs. I didn't ask, they volunteered the refund.

Stayed May 18, 2024Secluded and peaceful property. Typical cabin in the woods feel to it. Really spacious for 2 adults. Entire cabin is on a pretty steep hill so be prepared for some excercise getting to and from the dock, its not terrible though. The property manager was very easy to contact and speak with for any issues that arose. All in all, we will definitely be back soon!
