Popular Boulder Bay Lake House, Brand New Spa! Private Dock, 2 Kayaks & 1 Canoe

The listing is extremely misleading. The photos do not reflect the actual property at all—one of the main images even appears to be of a completely different house a few doors down. The dock setup shown is also inaccurate and not what you’ll find when you arrive.None of the advertised water amenities were usable. Every canoe and paddleboard had expired licenses, making them off-limits. We ended up having to spend additional money renting kayaks elsewhere, which completely defeats the purpose of booking a place that advertises these features.The house itself is very cramped and poorly laid out. It’s not suitable for families with kids or pets, despite what you might expect from the listing.To make matters worse, the heating and cooling upstairs does not work properly, making it uncomfortable to stay there.There’s nothing remotely “premium” about this property, yet they require a large deposit, which feels completely unjustified given the condition and experience.Cleanliness was also questionable—there was still laundry left in the dryer upon arrival, which makes you wonder whether anything was actually cleaned properly. On top of that, there was dust everywhere.Overall, this place is overpriced, misrepresented, and not worth the hassle. Proceed with caution.

The house pictures talk a 1000 words so don’t have room to say the best experience we had. The house is equipped for all four seasons. This trip was in the winter season. The views and tranquility made us wish we stay longer. The snow and clear skies in the day created such beautiful landscapes. You have to be there for yourself. In the house, coziness and warmth made our experience unforgettable.

Our family had a phenomenal time bringing in the new year at this perfect, cozy cabin. Unfortunately, we got a lot of rain on our trip, but our family enjoyed hours of games and beautiful views as we were stuck indoors.Our host Colleen was attentive and easy to communicate with. We hope to come back again to create many more special memories with our family!

The house is in a wonderful location and was fully equipped for our needs. We enjoyed the canoe and kayaks and lake views. Everything was clean and comfortable.

The property was just as described. Quiet street, on the lake and close to great hiking. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Big Bear.

Location is amazing and the access to the dock really made the trip. Things inside could be updated a bit. Bbq requires a lighter to start and the only lighter was out. The spa was low and needed to be filled in order for the spa to heat. Overall a great last minute getaway.

Our stay was perfect. Colleen was extremely helpful and responsive and answered all my questions (even the ones that were already answered by the guide). We loved the view, the access to the lake, and the canoe and kayaks. We fished off the dock and had a great time with our dogs. The fenced backyard had a lot of foxtails but that is probably hard to avoid this time of year. We will definitely be back! Thanks Colleen!

Everything was absolutely amazing, we brought our boat and the dock was perfect! Kids played in the lake on the kayaks there! Being in Boulder Bay was nice and quiet! The house has everything you need and very comfortable! We will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at this lake house. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well-stocked. We cooked a lot and never wanted for anything in the kitchen. We even got to eat fresh-made waffles! Location on Boulder Bay is great and canoes were a lot of fun. Lots of outdoor places to sit and enjoy the lake. Spa was wonderful too after a day of canoe-ing. Nice quiet neighborhood. Not too close to the village but close enough to get there quickly if we wanted to.

Our Family stayed Dec. 27-30, 2024. It was a very clean and comfortable home. Description was accurate. Beautiful location on the water and you can walk to Boulder Bay Park. Drive to Summit Mountain to Snow Board and The Village to eat and shop was very quick. The owner was very responsive. I highly recommend this home and will be staying again in future.

Great location, so nice to sit out on the deck and look at the water and so nice to have a fenced in yard for the dogs. A few restaurants and markets within walking distance and an easy drive to the town. Owner was quick and helpful with questions!

We had a great stay at the Lake House. Beautiful views in a quiet location. We fished off the dock, took our dogs for walks around the lakefront and enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen has everything you might need, including oven baking dishes, pots and pans, grill and kitchen utensils. Beds, pillows and couches were all very comfortable.

Our group consisted of four adults, one 7-year-old and one infant. The amenities here were great! Sitting in the Jacuzzi overlooking the lake was a dream and having a dock to take our sea-doo out from was just what the doctor ordered. We would love to come back to this house again!

Great property! Would definitely stay there again. My 3 friends and I rented this property in August for 5 nights for a girl’s getaway. The location was perfect – right across from Boulder Bay. We enjoyed sitting on the spacious upper balcony where we had some of our meals, played cards, and watched people on the lake. Having our own private dock was a real plus and we took advantage of the canoe and kayaks provided by Colleen, the host. We loved relaxing on the lounge and Adirondak chairs (with comfy cushions) after soaking in the warm, soothing hot tub looking out on the beautiful lake. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee when the lake looked like glass. There were a couple small restaurants local market conveniently located within walking distance. We had a great time at this property and highly recommend it!

Whoever cleans this property does a very superficial job.

My family and I had a great stay at this home. Home is in a great location and has a beautiful view of Boulder Bay/lake. Area was very peaceful and quite. A short walk to Boulder Bay Park which our dog loved. The home had everything we needed and more. Check in was very easy with clear instructions. We did contact host with a question and host responded very quickly.

This cabin was clean and well equipped. Great view of the Big Bear Lake! The owner was readily available for any questions. Great place to stay at Big Bear Lake!!
