Close to the heart of Big Bear Lake. Scenic walk to the Village (1.7 miles) where you cango wine tasting, try the local breweries, splurge on fine dining or a variety of Mom & Pop eateries, catch a movie, see a concert and shop for all tastes - collectibles, casual and high end clothing, unique gifts, jewelry and much more. We love the cabin feel with all the wood. We enjoy sitting out on the front deck having coffee and listening to the quiet. We love how close to everything it is.

Cozy Spring Cabin Getaway in Big Bear Lake We had such a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin in Big Bear Lake! It was the perfect getaway for us (2 adults and our puppy), and honestly, it could comfortably fit up to 4 people. The cabin had everything we needed — the kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to cook meals, and we especially loved using the grill. The indoor fireplace made the space feel extra warm and inviting, and there was even a heater for those colder moments. One of our favorite parts was the backyard, which was perfect for our puppy to run around and enjoy. The neighborhood was quiet, peaceful, and very walkable, with super friendly neighbors that made us feel right at home. The location was also a huge plus — just a short distance to the village, shops, and Bear Marina, so everything was easily accessible. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated.Overall, we had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend this cabin. We’d absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay overall!Highlights: We loved the cozy wood‑burning fireplace and the amazing jacuzzi. The location was perfect—close to both the town and the lake. The heater kept the cabin warm, the Keurig worked great, and Nancy was so kind and flexible with our arrival time, which we really appreciated.A few small notes for future travelers: The bathroom is quite small if you're sharing it with four people, and the fan doesn’t work. The kitchen could use some standard‑size bowls—we found ourselves eating cereal and salads out of oversized, mismatched ones—so you might want to bring a few if that matters to you. The shower also has very low water pressure. Before our trip, I couldn’t confirm whether the cabin had a hair dryer, pasta strainer, or blender, so I packed my own. It turns out the cabin has all three!

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Nice to have a wood burning fireplace.A few minor complaints:1. The red handles on the kitchen tongs fell off.2. There was no night table on the left side of the bed. It was a tall narrow dresser.3. The USB charging cable on the multiple device charger on the right side night table did not work. I used my own charging cable and the outlet worked fine.4. The towels were uncomfortably close to the toilet.5. There was an insufficient number of bowls for four people, but there were only two of us so not a problem for this stay.

We had a great stay at the pinecone cabin. Check in was easy, and the cabin is in a central location, great for getting anywhere around the city or lake. Yard was great for our dogs and the driveway is paved for easy access to the property.

We enjoyed ourselves so much in Big Bear and found the cabin so cute and cozy! We would rebook for sure! Just something’s to note: It took us a little bit to realize the WiFi password was in the binder, the shower didn’t seem like it had been cleaned, it could be stained - thankfully we brought shower shoes, the solar lights didn’t work in the backyard - so it was dark - thankfully we brought a flashlight, and the coffee makers were both dirty/had water scale.

We stayed here in late September/early October 2025 and would definitely recommend it for a family of four or fewer. The neighborhood was extremely quiet—most of the nearby homes seemed to be rentals or not regularly lived in. It felt peaceful and private. The only minor drawback was the next-door neighbor’s dog, which barked for about five minutes each morning around 6:45 a.m.—not a big issue if you’re an early riser or used to that.**Highlights we loved:*** Affordable* Relaxing hot tub with amazing night time star viewing and cool LED lights* Cozy bedrooms and a very clean cabin* Helpful host who quickly answered all our questions* Great fenced yard (dog-friendly with poop trash cans, scooper, and raised water bowl provided)* Outdoor features: grill, fire pit, gas fire table, and front deck* Heater worked well for the chilly nights* Large TCL Smart TV for downtime* Well-equipped kitchen for basic cooking needs*Walking distance to Holloway's boat rentals and the lake*Friendly neighbors and business owners around town*Convenience store in walking distanceAreas that could be improved:* Shower head is quite low (I’m 5’6 and had to duck a bit) and water temperature was tricky to adjust* Lighting throughout the house was very dim, especially in the kitchen and bottom bedroom* Rugs posed a bit of a tripping hazardOverall, this was a cozy, dog-friendly getaway with lots of thoughtful touches and a very peaceful setting. We’d be happy to stay again!

Nice cabin in central area close to the town.Jacuzzi was very nice addition.Place could use little more care found to many bugs in the bedroom. Would be nice to do away with cleaning fees since you need to clean kitchen and throw your own garbage away per the rules which is 2 miles away.

As a regular VRBO client, I've come to find what really sets most properties apart is how they're maintained and managed. Nancy is an absolutely fantastic host and the easy communication with her prior to our stay, and her considerate check-in during the stay made all the difference. The cabin itself is wonderful, of course. Many amenities and small touches that really made us feel welcome. But it was truly the exceptional service from our host that impressed us. We will be back for sure!

Absolutely adorable cabin located in a really great area. Our host Nancy was incredibly flexible as we had to change our dates. She was on-top of everything, very communicative and just an all-around great host. We would love to come back some day and we would definitely stay at Pinecone cabin again.

This cozy little home is located on a street corner, has a nice vibe and was perfect for the two of us for a weekend escape. It reminded me of a grand parents cabin that you'd spend time at during the summer or winter break. The hot tub worked well and we enjoyed having a wood burning fire every evening. There were a couple issues that were quickly resolved with good communication. Minor things to note for wintertime users, the bathroom doesn't get much heat and stays pretty cold. Also, make sure the compact fridge is turned on from the inside before you put your groceries in. We didn't realize it was off until the next day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning again.

Nice cabin, in a good location. However..The cabin smelled like cigarettes, which once we made our initial walk through, we found multiple cigarette butts both tossed on the back porch and in ZipLok bags, which we though was odd..because the property should have been cleaned before we got there. Multiple cobwebs were in the house and the wood burning fireplace is not very accommodating for a fire..the flue does not allow for proper exhaust. Hot tub was brown and was not clean. All in al, beautiful cabin, however management not responding on check-in day and very dirty house makes us believe that it was not cleaned before we arrived.

We just spent Christmas in the Pinecone Cabin and really enjoyed our stay. I stayed with my husband, two sons (16 and 11) and our dog. The size of the cabin was perfect for our family and the fenced yard and side run were convenient with the dog. Everything was super clean upon arrival and the beds were very comfortable. We particularly loved the location of the cabin in a quiet neighborhood about 5 minutes from the Village and a short walk away from the lake waterfront. We used the wood burning fireplace in the living room every single day and it made it such a cozy ambience while we watched movies as a family, ate dinner or played games. There also were two smart TVs in the cabin, which was great for two boys. The hot tub was our favorite, as it was a perfect way to end a long day skiing and snowboarding. The hot tub was clean and well maintained, which we appreciated staying at other vacation rentals. If you're planning on using the kitchen a lot, one thing to be aware of is that there isn't a dishwasher. This wasn't a huge surprise since it's an older cabin, with an older kitchen. I share that because it is helpful to know for meal planning and buying disposable plates, cups, cutlery to avoid washing so many dishes. :) All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we appreciated the communication with the hosts throughout our time there. We had a couple of questions come up and Nancy got back to us quickly. Highly recommend this place for a great experience in Big Bear.

This little cabin had the rustic feel we were looking for, and the enclosed backyard for our dog was a plus. The kitchen, bathroom and linens were all very clean. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. The heater worked well and there was plenty of firewood for the fireplace. On the downside, the carpet wasn’t the cleanest, which you might expect in a dog-friendly cabin. Also, on our 2nd night, we lit the firepit which burned about 3 minutes before the propane ran out. Because it was late, I waited until the next morning to message the owner through VRBO, hoping she could refill it so we could use it that evening. The owner never replied which was a disappointment to us since she had sent us a message letting us know we could contact her should we need anything. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed with our doggies. The entire front deck and back yard are fenced so we could let the animals roam with no worries. The property is only a five minute walk from Halloway Bay so that was nice. There are 2 outdoor fire pits and a gas grill, and the propane was fully stocked. Clean and cozy, just the way we like it.
