Pet friendly, new hot tub, overlooks Fork of Red River.

I planned a last minute trip and was happy to find a place. I rate this cabin a 3 out of 5. The positives: 1. nice hot tub 2. pool table 3. comfortable mattresses 4. remodeled bathroom The negatives: 1. the cabin is not 100% clean 2. lacks the small thoughtful touches that make it feel nice 3. Things were broken (blinds on the front window=privacy issue, 1 eye on the stove) 3. the air conditioning is insufficient (I visited in July, the upstairs was unusable, the downstairs only cool at night) 4. There is a mouse problem with droppings in the kitchen drawers and a previous guest left a note about a dead mouse in a kitchen cabinet-the note and mouse fur was still there. It worked for a couple of nights, but I was happy to leave. Will not rent again.

The bed could be soft had to sleep on the couch

It was a nice cabin… loved the river.. there was rat droppings on silverware and we saw a mouse it had gotten in my pb crackers that was in my bag … we had a great time!!

Hot tub was awesome! Cute cabin! There is WiFi which was a huge delight to kids.

This was by far the best cabin I have ever stayed at. The host was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Its very nosey area with traffic. And we check out early because i woke up with bites all over my body. There was bed bugs. Need to be updated .

Bed bugs and no hot water. They had to find us another place after we had stayed 1 night in that nasty , dirty place. Had to wash all our cloths and throw some things away. We waisted a whole day of our 3 day trip just dealing with everything.It was the first time in my life to ever even see a bed bug and I'm 63. We've been renting from VRBO for over 30 years and never had any real problem. We were always happy with our rentals but certainly not this time. Sorry for the coplaints but I thought you might want to know the truth.

It was listed air conditioning…. However there were 3 window units that were not suitable for the space … the whole cabin was hot …. there was a very musty smell when we walked into the cabin . There was also a disclosure printed with the cabin rules “ there is wildlife here “ including inside wildlife.. mice, bugs “ ,

Great stay

We rented the place in April (3 months before our stay) and one week before our stay I get an email saying that cabin was unavailable. They offered us another one. Ok so we took it but there was little household kitchen ware and one towel for each person. I had to request WiFi password and did not hear from them until next day. It worked for what we needed it for. Will we stay again…probably not.

It was a cute place that appears to be going through some renovations. I would’ve liked better AC. The light switches are oddly positioned.

The river view was not as nice as expected and the black bear lodge is within 50’ left of the grizzle cabin porch which takes away from the seclusion and privacy

We got moved because of a water heater snafu, but really enjoyed the Shiloh cabin! Clean, well-maintained, and had all we needed! Communication with the host was really smooth and just enough. We’ll be booking with this host/company again.

Nightmare….bed bugs were found in both beds. My wife had approximately 12 bites on her arms and back. I captured one live bug and several carcasses. Called the office and showed the attendant. Asked for full refund due for three night stay….they offered one. They called bug control company and had the gall to tell me no signs of bugs were found. Bad bad and worse.

Well first, we walked in and we smelled death. Very obvious, that no one had been there in days. Dead mouse in cabinet, (stuck to the cabinet) dust, old contact stuck to floor in bathroom. AC is a joke (we had to buy a fan just to help circulate the air). Had to buy ants traps, and bought candle to help with smell. Not adding photos, you wouldn't want to scare you. Place needs major upkeep/maintenance.

Cabin was nice. Enjoyed the hot tub.

Indoor wildlife was a surprise

The cabin itself was dirty. The blinds were all broken, my kids and I watched mice crawl in and out of it, hearing them in the walls. The bedding had long strands of a reddish color hair- we don’t have red hair. Very little kitchen accessories- bring your own everything if you stay here. I reached out to the property manager, receiving no response. We ended up leaving a night early. There is a creek behind the cabin that is beautiful, but the cabin is next to trash dumpster so you could smell that.

We really enjoyed our stay! everything is like a 2-5 minute drive. Don't pass this one up!

Rodents got into my bread and flour. Very nice and relaxing stay overlooking a stream.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was comfortable and relaxing. We loved the hot tub and the creek. We hiked 8 miles of Red River Gorge and loved it.

The first night my wife found a spider in the bed room, she hates spiders. The first morning I found two small mice in the kitchen sink.

Absolutely loved it! I had so much fun, it was the perfect weekend getaway!

Cabin was close to one of the main roads and very close to a small lodge, with another cabin about 200' away and above ours. We had a couple from the lodge actually walk around our deck of the cabin. Inside the cabin was outdated and not cleaned thoroughly. We found mouse droppings in some of the pots and pans and sink of the last morning . The pool table had one pool cue that could be used. We were supplied with one small towel for each of us to use over the 4 night stay. The cabin had 2 knives that were as dull as butter knives. We had to go buy extra towels and steak knives to use.The beds were hard and uncomfortable. We definitely won't be back.

3 guys stayed here and had a great time at this house. Between the hot tub and the pool table, we were very happy with choosing this location. Having a TV with cable was a nice touch as well! Proximity was great, we were able to walk across the street for dinner and a local bar and also close to Miguels. The house is a little out of date, had a DVD/VHS combo, and could use another bed upstairs, although both that they did have were very comfortable. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future!

All in all it’s a nice cabin placed in a very convenient location in the gorge. Close to food and activities while still feeling at home enough to not be bothered by others.

Only clean thing in the whole place was the shower and the fridge. The rest was not clean at all. Conch was dirty, floors was dirty, utensils was dirty with lots of dust, the mattress on the bottom floor had been peed on in two different places and the mattress had been turned around to put stains at the foot of the bed. Mouse dropping all over the kitchen counter tops. I would not have rented this cabin to anyone! Not happy with the stay there!
