Stayed Mar 29, 2026We had a wonderful stay at the Persimmon property of Black Bear Ridge Cabins. There were two of us, and it was the perfect getaway. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the deck was a great spot to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. The property felt very secluded and safe, making it an ideal retreat, especially for those traveling with dogs. The cabin strikes a great balance between rustic charm and modern amenities, so you get the cozy experience without sacrificing comfort. Access was easy, but a helpful tip: follow Mann Rd rather than Brennen Rd, even if your GPS suggests otherwise. The location is also very convenient for exploring Hocking Hills, and the hosts went above and beyond by providing excellent restaurant recommendations in Logan. Overall, a fantastic stay, and we would definitely return!

Stayed May 2, 2025This was our second time staying in the Persimmon cabin and we’ve loved it both times. This year other family members booked the other two cabins on site and it was great to be so close to each other but also have your own space. The property owners offered and left a bassinet for us since my daughter is only 4 months old, which I appreciate so that’s less to pack! We loved hiking at the state park and are always able to find some spa time in the towns nearby. I can’t wait to hopefully come back year after year.

Stayed Jun 16, 2022Seems fairly new.... everything functioned really well! Just the right amount of seclusion. The Wi-Fi was great, very fast and no outages. We spent a lot of time on the front porch and back deck - coffee in the AM drink or two in the evening. We plan to return maybe as early as September if possible. Oh; and very Dog Friendly!

Stayed Jun 8, 2021Property was mostly clean, easy check in- and check out. It was a very quiet place to stay and allowed pets. The cabin was located relatively close to the state parks, grocery and the local winery. We enjoyed the stay!
