Everything was great and relaxing

I loved the cabin - it was very clean and had ample supplies. I loved that there were board games and every kitchen utensil you could think of for a rental home. The aesthetic details are very well thought out and the beds are very comfortable.

Had a great stay, we stayed for our anniversary. Place was very nice and clean.

This is a beautiful wooded location. It was so quiet. We saw many Deer both morning and evening hours. One disadvantage was the long and precarious drive in and out of the location. There are many hairpin turns. We were still able to get to desired locations like Boone and Blowing Rock. The property was clean and inviting. Phone service was finally established by using the WiFi provided at the property.

A beautiful secluded, restful Mountain getaway in an immaculately kept cabin with modern amenities and comforts!

Check in was a breeze. Kitchen was stocked with anything you might need. We had no problem with cell service at the property. The book left by the owners was very helpful!The porch overlooking the creek was the perfect place for a peaceful cup of coffee in the morning while reading my book and watching the deer.

Wonderful stay, beautiful cabin in a great community. Our kid loved playing in the creek. Excellent communication with the property manager. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on Horn Mountain at Penny Creek Cabin. We saw about 100 deer, wild turkeys, and otters. We went on hikes, swam in swimming holes, saw waterfalls, and fished. Perfect time to unplug and get away. Susan was very helpful with everything we needed.

We rent a cabin every year for spring break, always in a different location. This was our fifth year and this was the NICEST, CUTEST cabin we’ve stayed in. Super clean, well appointed, and so peaceful. I gave the communication four stars only because I tried to inquire about getting refunded on the pet fee since we didn’t bring our dog and never heard back or saw a refund. BUT otherwise, great. Location was four stars only because my kids complained about the distance we had to go just to get some groceries etc, but that’s part of the experience!

Cabin was exactly as how it was described. Beautiful location and everything our family needed. Kids had fun with the old school NBA jam game. We didn’t do a ton of streaming but WiFi and tv worked grear

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin driveway is a little tricky to maneuver as it is gravel and on an incline. For someone like myself who has mobility issues it was extremely difficult to walk up to the stairs without assistance. The creek along side the cabin was very nice and peaceful. We did not get to use the deck or fire pit as it rained almost every day. Inside the cabin we noticed immediately the living room windows had no curtains and your neighbor can see directly into the cabin as they are higher up. I found dirty dishes on the shelf which was an immediate turnoff, the plastic plates on the top shelf. The cabin itself is nice, but could use some freshening up and cleaning. The bedroom closet with the queen sized bed was full of items like fans, an Irobot vacuum, items on the shelf as well making use of the closet for suitcases or shoes not possible. The only thing you could use the closet for is to hang up clothing. The closet door is also off the track so it swings open and does not stay closed. My spouse being 5' tall went to put the garbage out and discovered that the receptacle is a lift top and you must stand on a piece of wood beam that is not secure to place the garbage in the receptacle. This is very dangerous and really should be doors that open in the front as we saw inside the community at other cabins. We did use the washer and dryer which was a nice feature to have, but the soap dispenser tray needs to be cleaned. Overall it could be a very nice location, but definitely needs a good cleaning and some attention to maintenance and storage of items so the closet can be utilized.
