Jerseyville, Illinois
Relax in this peaceful cabin located on a 30 acre farm with picturesque views of the woods and farmland. Close to all the quaint river town of Grafton, IL has to offer, but removed from the crowds and the cars and the noise. You can spend your days discovering the shops, wineries, restaurants or local hunt clubs, while spending your nights stargazing or building a fire and eating s'mores. You can stay as busy, or not, as you'd like. It's truly the best of both worlds!
Perfect location for us to come home and see family!!! Cabin was perfect and the hosts were amazing!!! Looking forward to more stays.
Quiet and comfy with beautiful scenery. While my husband was hunting, my dog and I turned on the fireplace, read fiction, put jigsaw puzzles together, and enjoyed the peace.
Cabin was very inviting. Jeff and Melissa are doing it right! Loved exploring Grafton, doing nothing but relaxing and petting the animals. I especially liked the donkey?
Nice cabin to rest and relax in the country. Multiple farm animals were definitely a bonus attraction. Owners were on the Property and responsive, but respective of your space.
Was awesome. Melissa and Jeff are great!! Our GPS quit and they came to guide us in. Such a pretty serine place!! Ready to go back!!
The cabin, and it’s setting, was just what the doctor ordered! My teenage daughter and I wanted to escape for some peace and quiet. This place fit our needs exactly! We stayed for 3 nights in the midst of a crazy heatwave. Needless to say, we didn’t explore the farm in 111 degree heat, but we were very thankful for good AC, and a fabulous host! It was so completely quiet with only animal noises and birds chirping. We can’t wait to go back again! Thanks for having us!
Very cozy and accommodating.Would definitely stay here again.location was little far from town was the only down fall
Our stay at this quaint and well appointed cabin was even better than we could have hoped for! Everything about our stay, from check in to check out was wonderful! Interacting with alll the gentle animals was a highlight of our stay. We will definitely return!
Cabin was very nice and clean. Kids loved the animals around the property and owners were amazing.
I give this stay a huge 5 stars. One thing to say is that the pictures online actually “under estimate” how great it really is. It’s just really beautiful in a simple way. Another best thing to say is that they provide little things you may have forgotten- from bug spray to dog food bowls-(we didn’t bring an animal) but it caught my attention that there are even dog treats in the cabinet! Melissa made sure you are ready to cook with olive oil and spices and other things like cookware and utensils. There is a keurig maker and coffeemaker and the things to make the brews:) All of us had a good night of sleep. The only thing I would say is if there are 6 adults one would have to sleep on a trundle bed - but there are 4 of us that stayed there and my dad opted to sleep on the couch rather than fold it out. He said it was very comfy. The loft is fabulous and a very comfortable (according to my 17 year old twin girls) king size bed with plenty of room around it. There are closets available in the loft bedroom and the downstairs bedroom (where the day bed is) along with plenty of blankets and bedding. Another favorite thing is a very nice screened in porch where we ate breakfast all 3 mornings watching the hummingbirds eat and play. I was in awe of the log cabin atmosphere and the lovely decor- I have stayed in 3 other cabins throughout the years and this was by far the most favorite of any place I’ve ever stayed.
We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of many wild birds and farm animals and sitting on the back porch watching the farm come to life each morning. The location is a bit off the beaten path but convenient to Grafton and nearby parks and wildlife refuges along the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers. The cabin is well appointed and comfortable; great for a quiet getaway..
my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the cabin was spotless, the property is lovely, and the animals are wonderful. We spent a lot of time exploring the region. We loved going to the great river road, exploring, Grafton, and Alton, and finding great food nearby.
This was a very peaceful and calming experience. We loved the small town feel.
We loved our stay here and the owners were very responsive if we needed anything. Within driving distance of some very nice restaurants and places to go out in Jerseyville. We will be back!
This was seriously the best place we’ve ever stayed in. My boyfriend and I rented the house for a getaway weekend. It was amazing! The house has everything. There was plenty of pots/pans/utensils/spices/condiments to cook our meals. The bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of towels. The home itself was beautiful. We loved the fire burning fireplace; it was so easy and started with a switch. The master bed was extremely comfy and the bedroom had the cutest details. There was a ROKU Tv in the living room that allowed us to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. Check in/out was extremely easy with the keypad. And, it was all extremely clean! Finally, the animals were our favorite part. Donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and dogs all surround the property in separate pens. The dogs were our favorite, we spent a lot of time petting them and watching the animals. This was seriously the best and most relaxing weekend trip possible. I recommend it to everyone!
My 9 yr old son and I took a mom and son trip to this cabin, and loved it. The owners are thoughtful about the decor ( decorated for Valentines as we went in February) and having everything we might need in the cabin. Melissa made sure the pilot light was on in the fireplace so that it would work properly, and when I had trouble with the key pad she came right over to fix it. We loved visiting with the farm animals, this was my 9 year olds favorite part. The cabin is not far from Pere Marquette state park and we hiked and went to a restaurant in Grafton. But mostly, we stayed in and enjoyed the fireplace and played board games. It was warm enough for a short time to sit out on the enclosed back porch and that was enjoyable too. Overall a great get away.
Well worth the almost 3 hour drive for us. Pleasantly secluded yet only 19 mins from several towns. We’ll definitely stay again.
