Peace in the Woods - Where Your Dogs Enjoy the Mountain Air in a Fenced Yard

The cabin was very clean and nice. The hot tub and fire pit were great! and the bed was very comfortable. We had some noisy neighbors but obviously that was no one's fault except the neighbors! Would stay there again.

Kitchen was great, backyard was great. Our puppy loved it there. Hot tub was amazing

Great little cabin in the woods. The little fenced in area was perfect for us with the dog. We will definitely book again if we ever go back.

The cabin is very roomy, well equipped kitchen, beds were very comfortable. Our pups loved the fenced in yard. GMR was amazing to work with. They offered firewood delivery for the fireplace and grocery delivery and we took advantage of both services. It was so nice to arrive and have firewood and groceries there. The staff at GMR is always so pleasant, answered all of our questions. The only thing the cabin didn't have was a regular coffee maker - but we knew before arriving, brought one from home and left in the cabin for future guests and our future stays. We will definitely return again and will use GMR for future stays. It was perfect!

It was close to downtown Helen for easy access, but provided a peaceful getaway in the woods away from the busyness of town. It had all of the necessary amenities and was VERY clean. Kudos to the housekeepers. Our only BIG disappointment was the uncomfortable bed mattress and flat pillows. Next to cleanliness, comfortable sleeping quarters are most important. If one cannot get a good night’s rest, how can a vacation be enjoyable??! The only other feedback we have has to do with lighting. There was a problem with the overhead lighting in the bedrooms; sometimes all three bulbs were lit, and sometimes only one bulb was lit. Also, kitchen lighting could be improved. We think under-cabinet lighting would be a huge improvement. We felt like we were preparing food in a dungeon.

We loved this cabin! The yard was big enough for our dogs. It was very quiet as we were in the last cabin up the driveway. My dad saw a bear about 2:00 in the morning, so beware they are out there. The only thing I can say negative is the road getting to the cabin had a lot of ruts in it, the drive was pretty rough. Other than that, everything was perfect!!!

The split floor plan for the bedrooms was great! The fenced in backyard was perfect for my pup! Needs a backyard motion sensor light. Very dark once the sun goes down for the pup. The outside needs some TLC but overall a great cabin and location. 10 min drive into Helen! Would definitely go back to this cabin!

We love the privacy and easy accessibility to the cabin and local attractions. Unfortunately,the cabin is long overdue for some attention to the outside. It has two lovely porches but we walked through several cobwebs trying to get in and out. It was hard to relax in the hot tub when there is a giant spider dangling over your head! Screens are coming loose and porch furniture needs a good cleaning. Additionally, it rained while we were there and although the sound on the roof was lovely, the gutters were so clogged with leaves and branches that the water didn’t drain and it was like a small waterfall. The inside was immaculate but could stand a few inexpensive “extras”(no toaster? Only a K-cup coffee maker?). We still had a wonderful time but probably won’t return to that cabin again unless some TLC is given!

Everything about this was excellent. The cabin was in a perfect place and there was a fenced yard for our dog. The screened in porch was great for drinking coffee in the mornings. Everything from the check in (which was actually an hour early) to the checkout was perfect. Will definitely be staying there again!!

This cabin was peaceful and quiet. It was well stocked and very clean. Good communication with property managers. (Especially when we accidentally locked ourselves out. Do NOT do that. lol) My only complaint is I didn’t get to meet any bears. Everything else was great!

The kids love having the zoomies in the fenced in back yard. And me and the wife enjoyed the piece of mind that the kids were safe and secured 😌 🙏. And we love the piece and quite of mountain life.The owners are the best also, my wife left a jewelry box behind and they located it and shipped it back to us. Everything was pretty clean and ready for use. The hottub water was crystal clear and up to temp, beds were clean. The owner if took the time to decorate a little bit for the Christmas season. Only thing i will say is that the dish washer had a little mold forming, probably just from it being wet and closed from the last renter. There was no poop in yard upon my arrival nor did my dogs leave any. Even being in the mountains not a single bug inside. Floors almost seemed to shine they were so clean. Georgia Mountain Rentals is best agency to use. Superb friendly service. On call. Better rates than hotels. About 7-10 minute drive into town.

The cabin was perfect for a quiet, low key trip. We originally had daily activities planned however, all the rain canceled those plans. This gave us full opportunity to enjoy the screened in porch and just listen to the rain fall between the wooded and secluded scenery. We used the hot tub at least twice a day. The fenced in yard was perfect for our boxer to run and play.

Reviewer Comments: My husband is now in a wheelchair and suffers from Parkinson’s, so our trips to the North Georgia mountains have been few and far between. I finally took the plunge and rented this cabin to get away and get some peace for the two of us just to be together without any outside forces, pulling us here and there. The cabin is perfect for anyone who needs it to be handicap accessible yet it is still a beautiful wooden cabin. Wonderful porch to sit on in the back that’s covered and screened in. Also I covered porch in the front with a wonderful hot tub. I could not think of anything to add that would make this place more perfect for us. We will definitely be returning to “Peace in the woods”!!
