Over the hill and through the woods, to the Cozy Cub cabin we go.

It was very clean and comfortable. CONS: IT TOOK 1/2 hour to get a hold of host to get door code. You have to drive up a very lot holed road to get to the cabin then down a STEEP hill to get down to it. We had to go buy our own toilet paper. The coffee pot did not work. Only DVDs to watch and not much of a selection. Over all unhappy with the place. Will not go back.

It was a really little cabin for me and wife to stay in for the weekend. I saw a lot of the reviews about the slimey feel of the water. As far as the shower, I would say it is probably a water softener. I almost prefer that over the dry feeling you get in hotels. Overall it was great.

A great place for a getaway!

The cabin was beautiful! Very private. May need a bigger sign so you know where to turn because my husband thought we were on someone private property. We arrived at night and its very dark and you take a very long lane up a mountain but.....once found AMAZING!

I truly don’t know what to say other than, WOW what a beautiful experience. Me & My fiancee took our first trip down to Hocking Hills this past weekend and had the lovely opportunity of renting out this beautiful cabin. I truly can’t speak highly enough of this property and the location as we were looking for something in the middle of the woods with the sounds of only nature and this hit it right on the spot. Not only did they have some pretty views but also the Hot Tub was an absolute must for this trip, Being able to relax after a day of hiking and watching the sunset over the rolling hills was truly something special. I want to thank Sarah for being an awesome person to work with as she answered all my questions quickly and would respond to any message sent at anytime of the day leading up to the trip. 10/10 and Most definitely will be back for any of our future trips to Hocking Hills!

Very nice cabin, very steep driveway but had no problem getting in and out. Would be great to have some trees cleaned up and removed for a better view off the deck. Had to replace the batteries in the tv remote and clock. We enjoy being secluded from the other cabins, would definitely rent the cabin again.

We stayed for 3 nights and had zero issues. Cabin was very clean and has everything that you would need. The area has lots of hiking, but we came for a quiet and relaxing weekend. Hot tub was very nice and also beneficial having a grill. This place was everything we needed it to be.

Beautiful Setting, but Cleaning Standards Need AttentionThe cabin itself is in a beautiful spot—I enjoyed watching deer off the deck and some gorgeous sunsets through the trees (see photos). It has a lot of potential to be a relaxing getaway.That said, the cleanliness on arrival was disappointing. There were crumbs on the dining table, dust and dead bugs around the bedside lamp, ashes left on the fireplace hearth, beard shavings on the bathroom vanity, and toenail clippings on the floor. I even left a note with my email address for the owners but never heard back, which was disappointing. (Photo attached shows one example.)A couple of practical notes for future renters:The drive up to the cabin is a little over half mile gravel and the decent to the cabin is quite steep—just something to be aware of. Also a really deep pot hole to your left just before turning into the cabin drive. Wasn't going more than 5 mph and my tire dropped hard.The water has a noticeable difference in feel compared to other areas, which might take getting used to.The cleaning checklist says 3 bundles of firewood are provided, but the cabin rules say wood must be purchased at the shed at the top of the hill. It would be helpful for the owners to update this for clarity.Overall, the location is beautiful, but improved attention to cleaning and communication would make this cabin a much better experience.

The cabin was exactly the way it is pictured and stated. We enjoyed the peace and quiet on the back deck overlooking the woods. We did not utilize the hot tub as it was 90 degree days. Will definitely be back for another stay. Thanks so much!

This was our first time renting a cabin in Hocking Hills we enjoyed our stay. It was very rustic and loved the privacy. Love how we got to see cows and donkey on the way to our cabin. It was a different experience. Everything was what we needed for our getaway weekend. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing us your place.

Avoid - I truly believe that the prior reviews were fake or altered. There is no way this place deserves a 9/10. It honestly felt like a neglected old hunting cabin. Left after 1 night. Communication from owner was fine however never bothered to ask the reason when I told her we were leaving. Signage to cabin at end of driveway was fallen and grown over, dirty mop and broom on the front porch was our welcome. Large area of Standing water (bugs) next to the firepit, cabin needs a good cleaning - blinds and overhead items are filthy, it is damp and musty smelling. Grill needs cleaned. Hot tub smelled awful. The view was non existent as this place is deep in the woods, love seat had a huge rip in it and was stained. Only a few towels in disarray in the shelf, moldy shower curtain and mat. Location was to be expected but you have to drive 1/2 hour everywhere to see anything or eat etc. door did not lock “automatically” as stated the 2x we left the cabin. We had Internet but the “smart tv” would not connect. The “dvd” collection was minimal.High expectations and excitement resulted in an Overall hugely disappointing time and a waste of money. Ended up leaving and going to Cleveland.

We had a great time at the Cozy Cub cabin! Perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing get-away. We had a nice time celebrating our anniversary. Loved the hot tub and beautiful views! Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely come back.

The communication was lacking a little when the system didn't give us the door code along with the address the day before, but Sarah, the host, responded quickly and was willing to help if we needed anything. Google maps doesn't put you at the right place so ask for specific instructions. Be prepared for a bit of a roller coaster ride back in the hillside drive getting there. I was a little worried wen we got to the cabin as the front porch needed sweeping like nobody had been there for a while. The inside was immaculate though! Very nice and comfortable! Tons of towels and blankets. Bed was comfy. Water pressure was good, but it must be severely softened because soap didn't want to come off you. the back porch had a nice forest view, but also needed swept clean. We made use of the large hot tub but it didn't seem like anyone had monitored it recently as there were no chemicals in the floater and it smelled like mildew when you opened it up. the supplies for it were in the closet so I took the liberty to do a little upkeep. Speaking of which, the chairs on the front porch were nice big wood rockers, but the arms were really loose. Good thing I always travel with my tool box. Fixed them right up. don't get the idea that I'm a whiner because it was a really nice stay. Would do it again.

We had the best time. From the minute you walk in you smell wood and get such a cozy vibe. It's perfect for a couples getaway. It rained the whole weekend we stayed but we still had a blast. I gave a 4for location only because the drive back was a tad bit rough, BUT well worth it!!! We were talking when we were down there and will be planning to make this a yearly stay at this cabin. Check in was simple, Sarah was great! Sitting in the hot tub while it was raining was so nice! We will definitely be back!! AND the dollar game was so much fun!! It was ok

The owner had great communication and answered any questions in a very timely manner. We had no problem with checking in, and the cabin was as described online. It was located well for getting to Hocking Hills State Park and restaurants. Our only complaint was that the cabin was very dusty and could be kept up a little better. Overall we recommended the Cozy Cub

We very much enjoyed our stay in this nice, cozy cabin. Very peaceful location. The cabin is very nice...some of the amenities (hot tub, fireplace) could use some attention and sprucing up. A smart TV would be nice. A guide booklet also was not present.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cozy Cub. You literally have everything you need. Every kitchen gadget you could need is available. We found 4-5 movies from the DVD selection to watch. Hot tub was nice. Very private. Easy check in.

Beautiful, spacious cabin complete with modern amenities in a private, wooded setting! Address provided not visible from main road. Communication with detailed directions would be beneficial. Definitely plan to visit again!

Perfect!!

We stayed for my husband’s birthday weekend and loved the atmosphere of this cabin. It was great to be back away from the road in the woods, but also close to local places. The floors had obviously not been cleaned prior to our arrival, which was disconcerting off the bat. There was also no dish soap in the cabin and we had to go purchase some ourselves to ensure we didn't leave any dirty dishes. A few light bulbs were out, which was also a bit frustrating. Lastly, we were surprised to not see a TV capable of streaming, such as a Roku or Fire TV, because there was good internet service. The TV just didn't seem to be very new. We appreciated being able to watch some DVDs, but there weren't many that were our taste to pick from. We enjoyed our time away though and are glad we came.

Truly couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend; H.Hills is definitely a favorite. We had planned to hike at the annual winter hike event, go into Logan for the ice festival, and try a few new restaurants, but we never left the cabin! Beautiful wooded setting and very cozy accommodations. We used the hot tub frequntly, drank morning coffee in the front porch rockers, and spent a great deal of time in front of the fireplace (bundles of wood available for purchase). We noticed the HDMI cable for the DVD player was damaged and although in no rush, Sara had a new one delivered within the hour! She was always quick to respond to questions prior to our arrival also! We wouldn't hesitate to reserve again - amazing place for a couple's getaway!

This was a perfect place to bring in the new year. What could be better than a fire, hot tub, some drinks and watching football on New Year's Day. The Wi Fi was good but you have to bring your own Roku or Firestik if you want to watch television. We would definitely comeback!!

We enjoyed the hot tub at the peak of a meteor shower and burning fires in the fireplace! There was a dvd player and many movies to pick from. The love seat was perfectly placed by the fireplace. We had a ton of towels stocked to use. This is an area you would want to bring 4- WD. The first night we had no WiFi and the next figured out the router had been unplugged! This was a fantastic place to stay and great pricing!

The drive back to the property was gorgeous. The cabin was gorgeous, secluded and quiet. Contact with the property owner was quick and easy. Wish the mattress was different, I could have completed my stay.
