Other Information
Cell service is available at our house. We have wifi that sometimes works great and sometimes not so great - this is unfortunately beyond our control as our more remote location limits options!
We are in the woods - woods which are shared with critters of all kinds. We have a pest control service, but we cannot spray the entirety of the forest, and we wouldn't want to - our local pollinators are important!
There are Ring doorbell cameras at both the front and back doors of the cabin.
The property was in the perfect location, surrounded by woods. It was so quiet and picturesque. The inside clean, set up and decore just perfect for a cabin. I would give this place 5 stars. My sister and I plan on going back for sure.
Super cute, clean, wondeful amenities. Fire pit was fantastic. Hot tub was great for relaxing after a day of hiking.
The cabin was exactly as advertised. There were little nit-picky things like the tiki torches were rotted and the fire starter was almost dead. But the outside string lights worked and we were able to roast a couple of marshmallows with the limited fire we had. I wish we’d had more hand towels, or aluminum foil, or some ziplock bags. A hair dryer would have been wonderful! The owner did reach out and ask us if we needed anything, but these were all little things. We could have gone to Walmart ourselves if it’d mattered so much. Overall, the place was wonderful and the location was exactly where we wanted to be.
We loved how centralized the property was to our destinations. The cleanliness and warm, welcoming environment. Only critique: The door and kitchen window could use a curtain.
Everything was exactly as it was listed. House, firepit area, and hot tub were perfect!
We had a fantastic stay. Leaves were beautiful and full of color. Cabin was quiet and remote but close to everything. Our host quickly answered all of our questions - she was amazing! Enjoyed coming back after a hike to the warmth of the hot tub. Also used the fire pit nightly and loved the lighting! Bed was comfortable and we used both the a/c and the heat. If you go you won't regret it.
I was looking for a nice quiet area to sit and relax in nature for a few day and this place nailed it for me. Would highly recommend.
This house is a gem in the woods. We stayed 3 nights and on the last night we saw a buck and doe just 30 ft from us while we were in the hot tub. The bed was very comfortable, just wish the comforter wasn’t so heavy. We enjoyed our stay.
We had a great short stay here. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub, and had easy access to Shenandoah and Luray. It was nice and quiet. There was coffee and some toiletries to use, which we really appreciated!
I’m really not exaggerating when I say that this was my best rental experience. Communication beforehand was excellent. Any questions I had were answered immediately. Check in was incredibly smooth. And the property— better than described. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Beautiful (and comfortable!!!) furnishings, an incredible amount of space, and so well stocked. Everything I could have needed was already there. There’s plenty of hot water, wood for the fire pit, utensils… I’m just really impressed at what a great experience it was. My teen has already requested a rebooking for our next getaway. Thank you so much!
We loved the place so much! Enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit so much :) So great to bring dogs too!
Was looking for a quiet getaway in the woods. This place checked all my boxes. It was nice to get away somewhere that I couldn't see my neighbors. Where I was surrounded by nature. Where I could sit out and just listen to the sounds of nature. Whether around the fire pit, in the hot tub, or in the enclosed screened porched this is a perfect place to get back to nature.
We had the BEST stay at this rental! The house was private and felt remote, yet it was still a short drive to restaurants and activities! The house was very clean, and the bed was comfortable (firm Tempur-pedic feeling, I'd say, which we love). The kitchen was well stocked, and we made a delicious charcuterie board. The wifi was spotty, so Netflix did stall out some, but we weren't watching much TV anyway. There were board games there, and we spent time in the hot tub and by the fire pit. The hot tub was nice and hot and clean! We went to Luray Caverns and went zip-lining at Bear Mountain Ziplines, so fun! The hosts sent us a PDF of things to do in the area, and we used that every day to pick hiking trails and restaurants. Great communication with the host. We would definitely stay here again!!
The Cardinal Cabin was a great place to stay near Shenandoah National Park! The hot tub was nice, the space was nice, and it felt nice and secluded from neighbors due to the woods.
Property is exactly as described, very clean, well appointed. Pet friendly for responsible pet owners. Feels very private and isolated. Great place to stay to get away from it all, or a nice base to day trip attractions in Luray, Massanuten and the Shenandoah River/forest. Check in and check out was a breeze, owner is very friendly helpful and quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend!!
We stayed at Cardinal Cabin four times before it was renovated by the new owners. The upgrades are wonderful - very modern and nice. We loved the easy key pad to get in and out, and the new fire pit. We will definitely be back.
Had a wonderful time. Hot tub could be hotter and jets work a little stronger, the water was overfilled and spilling out. But was a wonderful time, didn’t wanna leave and the best view of the stars from the hot tub!
The cabin was the perfect get away. I loved the fireplace and hot tub. The rooms were comfy and you can set temp. To your liking in each room. There was a lot of privacy and I loved the hot tub. Will definitely be coming back
