Stayed Aug 24, 2025Yes, it is basic… rustic. But this house is in the most beautiful position, and charming. The sunsets are beyond description. The view is “uninterrupted”. Of the Kanimbla Valley. A place for reflection and contemplation.

Stayed May 10, 2025We had a wonderful stay at this charming 1890s cottage in Blackheath. The house is spacious and filled with quirky antique touches that give it a lovely old-world charm. Everything was immaculately clean, with fresh, crisp bedding that made us feel right at home. The house had everything we needed. The view over the mountains was absolutely stunning—especially in the mornings when the fog rolled in, creating a magical atmosphere. We loved cozying up by the fire in the kitchen and enjoyed watching the projector and the movies in the lounge room by the fire, it made the chilly weather so enjoyable. The location is perfect—just a short drive to local shops, cafes, and scenic lookouts, including the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms. The kids were delighted with the birdlife right outside and had a blast playing with the toys and games provided. Wifi was provided in our stay, and Georgina our house was amazing and very responsive and kind. All in all, a unique and memorable stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with character and comfort.

Stayed Dec 21, 2024Our group - including extended family from 11 to 82, including some visiting from Spain and France - loved our stay at this property. The cottage, really quite a large house, is full of authentic charm, as well as tasteful, cozy decorations and furnishings. I felt completely relaxed and at home and my kids loved the small room with a view over the valley. That vista from the back porch is quite spectacular and we enjoyed cocktail hours on the back deck with the sunsets. The projection video was great for the kids and the kitchen is also very well equipped. We also explored some of the nearby walks, and were very glad to be walking distance from Blackheath town centre. I would 100% recommend as a wonderful, comfortable base for a stay in the mountains

Stayed Mar 15, 2024The cottage is quaint and original with plenty of space and suitable for 3 couples . It's probably best described as shabby chic as the decor and furnishings are interesting but the cottage is not renovated completely which is part of its charm and makes it good value. It has a lovely view from the back deck and is a five minute walk from all the shops and cafes in Blackheath. .
