Stayed Jun 1, 2025This home is just perfect for a short or long stay. We felt like we were experiencing authentic Alaska, and the home is beautiful. There are two bedrooms plus a comfy pull out couch, and our family was very comfortable. The kitchen has a small fridge, a microwave, stove, and oven, and all of the things you might need to cook a nice meal. Everything is very clean and well decorated- very hygge! The owners are fantastic and we consider them friends now, we enjoy seeing them (this is our second time renting from them). They will come to your home and bring their award winning sled dogs, and bring you on a training run. You’ll learn all you’d like to know about sled dog races and preparation, the lifestyle, the dogs themselves, etc. All together, this is the perfect way to experience Alaska and we highly recommend any rentals from this sweet family.

Stayed Mar 20, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed this property! The cabin is cozy and comfortable! This secluded cabin served us well! The view of the distant mountains and the wide open skies along with the Aurora nightly was excellent! Our host kept us informed and was very hospitable! Our dog sledding adventure was the highlight of our vacation!! Being a dog sled racing fan and having the privilege to sled behind a team of athletes that just completed the Iditarod! A 1000 mile race for a second place finish with Top Musher Matt Hall! We had the the opportunity to meet Matt‘s wife and musher, Elke who recently proved herself a forced to be reckoned with in a race this past winter! These are top-notch folks! Enjoy your stay in this beautiful property! We will never forget our stay! Thank you!!

Stayed Mar 25, 2025I came to AK to photograph the Northern Lights. Little did I know that just stepping out the door would be an amazing view of Miss Aurora! The cabin was cozy and warm to boot! Great place to get away from the city!

Stayed Mar 3, 2025Absolutely loved the cabin and Elke! But have to admit, the highlight of the entire trip was most definitely the dog sled ride! I hope to make this a yearly trip!

Stayed Feb 7, 2025February 2025 stayed here with my parents and two kids. Comfortable space for 5. Beautiful location. Came in after a storm and the drive out was still reasonable driving conditions. I would recommend grocery shopping closer to Airport as there is a small local spot with minimal basics. The place is super cute and in sub 0 temps, still warm and cozy. Right out the door are miles of public trails that the kids and I were able to head out on. Well groomed so snow shoes were unnecessary. The property and surrounding land are absolutely gorgeous. Elke was super responsive leading up to the trip and no issues during our stay. The northern lights were visible at the cabin on two KP4 blocks of time. Stunning. We did do the dog sled experience and it was wonderful. Fascinating to hear about Silver Aces, their dogs, and the mushing experience. Best of luck in the upcoming weeks! The kitchen is small but well equipped for stove top cooking and a sheet pan for the oven. Lastly, Google Fi users and had service on the property and on the trails around the property. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!

Stayed Dec 21, 2024The communication with the host was excellent from booking through departure. The cabin was perfect for our family of four and has everything you will need. The view from the property is gorgeous and would be perfect any time of year. On a clear night, it felt like you were sitting among the stars and not under them. Additionally- You will not find a better sled dog experience in all of Alaska!! It was simply the best!

Stayed Nov 26, 2024We had a great stay in the Aurora cabin! We kept plenty warm with the Toyo stove, and had everything in the cabin for a cozy and comfortable stay. Cross country skiing right from the cabin door, beautiful stargazing, and amazing winter views. We opted for a sled dog experience while staying in the cabin and it was my favorite part of our trip. Definitely recommend. Would stay here again!!

Stayed Sep 21, 2024This well equipped, comfortable cabin, is located about 30 minutes from Fairbanks so plan ahead for food and supplies. Locally there is a great bakery and a sandwich shop that we can enthusiastically vouch for. The cabin faces an open field with a clear view to the sky for the Northern Lights - if nature doesn't obscure everything with clouds and rain. We had full cloud cover the days we were there. I'm sure it's spectacular when the skies cooperate. The highlight of the stay, and perhaps our entire vacation, was when the owner brought the dogs and wheeled cart around and took us for a ride. While it wasn't a long ride, it was a lot of fun and the stories of the Iditerod and other races were very interesting. A great choice in the Fairbanks area and good luck with the skies.

Stayed Sep 12, 2024Cabin was great, quiet, comfortable with complete kitchen. Owners gave us a sled dog experience that alone was worth the money for our stay. Bright aurora appeared on our last night. They did notify us that the lights were out, but we were already outside enjoying the view, Cabin sits on edge of large open field to lights were brilliant! Highly recommend this cabin!

Stayed Jul 6, 2024Delightful cabin nestled just at the tree line with an expansive view of the Chena River valley. A great place with wonderful, accommodating hosts. Warm, inviting, and all the comforts you need. Visited mid-summer and had a great cart ride and met some amazing furry dog friends! I hope I can come back in the winter to fully enjoy what this cabin and location have to offer.
