Minocqua, Wisconsin
Sunset Bay is a family resort resting in a quiet bay on Lake Minocqua - right off Hwy. 51 (some highway noise) and just one-mile south from downtown Minocqua. The convenient location means you are only a short distance from hiking and biking trails, tennis, golf, horseback riding, shopping and fine dining. The resort features a swimming beach, swim raft, playground equipment, fire pit, fish cleaning house and plenty of dock space to park your boat (boats are not offered with rental) and trailer for the duration of your stay (please review all photos). The famous Minocqua chain of four lakes is a fisherman's paradise teeming with a variety of fish such as Musky, Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike and panfish.
Please note that that this unit is not air-conditioned (window air conditions are not allowed) but equipped with ceiling, table fans and windows. Additionally, we do not offer boat rentals, but rentals are available in town. Also, there is not a boat launch on premises, the closest launch is located in town by the Minocqua library. Lastly, we do welcome smaller dogs breeds (pet fee applies), please forward the breed of your dog prior to booking for approval.
Was perfect place for a week of fishing
Proximity to Minocqua was awesome for this adorable cabin. Beautiful windows let in lovely views of Lake Minocqua at sunset and allowed for watching boats come and go during the day. Quiet nicely groomed beach with a sandy bottom and swimming platform plus paddle boats to head around the bay and take in gorgeous summer skies with eagles overhead. Would absolutely stay here again...gracious and communicative hosts. Loved it!
We have stayed here in the past and it's been great each and every time! No complaints at all. Great location and access to everything.
The view from our quaint little lake shore cabin was amazing! It had some fondation structure issues that they were going to address this year. But with that sai, it was clean, bug free and all the amenities you could ask for. A place to dock our boat, close to downtown.
Lovely clean and relaxing ? The only draw back was that the swimming wasn’t good because of all the seaweed stuff
It was a great vacation. Relaxing!! View of the lake was beautiful
Love staying at The Water's Edge cottage. Can't beat the rental cost, the location and the use of the docks for your boat. The cove is so quiet and calm, so your boat doesn't move hardly at all on the dock from waves like you have to deal with at other rentals. If you have kids, there is a swim platform, paddle boats and nice sandy shoreline. Also, kids will love just fishing off the dock. I totally recommend staying in this cottage for two adults or a small family.
Stayed here many times before, cannot beat the deck view and easy access to your boat. Nice walk to and from town. You will here traffic on 51 but by the 2nd day don't even notice.
This property was just perfect for me and my husband. It was so cozy & the views were so awesome. It was just a short walk into town, which we did several times. I would've loved to have gone swimming, but it was just too cold the week we were there. We did do some fishing off the pier though & caught (& released) several small fish. We had a wonderful time.
Most of the stay was nice. I didn't like the bed we slept in because the floor was way out of level. Also we assumed there was a row boat with the cabin because of the picture showing it. We Called and was told we can use it but being in our 60s we couldn't move it into the water. We did buy life jackets .
