Feel like you are in a 'tree house'...yet have a private double deck dock in a private cove! Whether you are a house-boater, skier, fisherman, sightseer, sunbather, or water sports lover, Norris Lake has it all. Norris Lake was created by the construction of the Norris Dam in 1936. This hydroelectric project was the Tennessee Valley Authority’s first. The lake’s beautiful blue-green waters span more than 800 miles of shoreline covering 34,000 acres. Norris’ boundaries extend up the Clinch and Powell rivers which feed Norris with clear, pristine waters. It’s an ideal environment for sportsmen and vacationers alike.

STAIRS ALERT: Please be aware that there are 250 +/- steps from the cabin to the dock (and back up again!!). Well worth the effort to get there and back, but we like to be sure our customers know this before committing to the rental.

This home is situated in a beautiful cove on Lake Norris. It has 2 bedrooms and the basement is a bunk area/game room. The upstairs has a king size bed in one of the rooms and the other room has a queen size bed, one full bathroom with shower/and tub , separate private hot tub house, porch, stairs to the dock, basement area with couches and three twin beds, with an extra twin mattress under one of the beds. There is high speed internet and Roku TV's in both upstairs bedrooms, in the living room area, and in the basement bunk room. Washer and Dryer are downstairs.

Enjoy the beautiful wildlife, private setting, swimming, boat slip, jet ski slip, lots of lounge chairs, fishing.... all you need to relax and 'get away' from it all!

Closest marinas by car are Whitman Hollow Marina and Indian River Marina, and by boat--Whitman Hollow and Sequoyah Marina is closest. Boat rentals are available at all three of these marinas.

We stayed over Thanksgiving with our kids and dog. The hosts have thought of everything, so well accommodated. The kids and dog had fun running around outside, making smores in the fire table, hiking down to the water, playing board games, running around outside. Great stay!

Enjoyed being in the woods in a homey place with our dogs. The stairs are worth the battle to use the good private dock

We had a terrific time. The cabin is in a great location and everything was very clean. Wish we could have stayed longer! The dock was a major plus!

House was very cozy. Driveway wa wide enough for 2 very large trucks. Stairs down to the boat dock were a advertised. 264 of them. Great leg workout. Had a great time. Thank you for being a great host!

Great stay. Well equipped house and very private. The dock and cove are also private and was the highlight of our trip. Yeah, there are alot of stairs but it's what we expected and it was worth it.

The 250 stairs are no joke. Pack lightly for going down for the day. The dock is amazing. Bring Saran Wrap, aluminum foil, and containers for leftovers. They have everything else. We did have some tick issues so bring spray for that. Overall, a seriously amazing and peaceful property.

This is the cutest little cabin in the most gorgeous, private cove. Fully equipped with everything we needed, from snacks to a slip for our boat. The kiddos absolutely loved jumping from the top of the double decker dock and having a huge, private area to swim safely. Great location for our favorite jumping rock and several marinas with nice restaurants. Host had excellent communication and went above and beyond for our stay! We would absolutely stay here again. Two cautionary details…the 254 steps are a doozy, especially after a long day in the sun and on the water. Also, there is a very active hornets next on the lowest hanging limb above the deck, right over where the kids run and jump. With having a EpiPen kid allergic to bee stings, this made for no relaxation on my part while he was up there.

Loved the property and all the amenities. The dock is great with the grill and kayak. The property is in a private cove, which was perfect for swimming. Our family rented a boat and had a blast. We enjoyed the hot tub and large deck. Chuck was amazing with communicating and helping with any issues. The worst part was the steps down to the dock.

My spouse and 3 kids and 3 dogs stayed here for a week. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house is situated on dead end road in a nice little neighborhood. Plenty of privacy if that's what you're looking for. The driveway is tight, but if I can back out of there anyone can. Anything you could need is already in the kitchen. In my history of staying places I've never been provided with as much as these hosts have provided. Kitchen and bathroom. Heck there was even some laundry soap. The house overall is comfortable and rustic, with plenty of accommodations. There were some broken sliding doors, and I could not get the very large and nice ceiling fan to work in the living room, but these things were insignificant for us. The dock is unreal, providing plenty of seating and even a small paddle boat. The view is serene and we love beautiful Norris Lake's teal water that is clean and clear. The dock is on a pretty private cove, with boat traffic a good ways away. As for the stairs...there is a bunch and it is steep and they can be slippery if it's rained. We managed each time but there is a balance. You want to pack for the day so you don't have to take multiple trips, but also understand you have to carry that all back up. Overall we liked our stay and the hosts helped us look for our daughters lost phone. They seem like very nice people.

Chuck was great. As stated in the listed there are some serious stairs but it helped us get our workout in. Will stay again. Great location and cove. Brought our boat, plenty of trailer parking on site and dock was fantastic.

Very peaceful and quite. The 250 steps to the dock are no joke but a great workout. My only complaint would be that only one set of the jets on the hot tub worked and we had to take turns sitting in that spot.

Loved the property, house, and area. Didn’t have much luck fishing and it rained a lot(Hurricane Helene), but we still had a great time. The owner, Mr French, was wonderful to work with and very accommodating!

Everything was amazing! Swam all week everyday and soothed our sore legs in the hot tub. Caught smallmouth bass of the dock and had line snapped from something big more than twice! Whole family LOVED this vacation! Thank you so very much!!!!

Loved the private dock on a private cove on a beautiful lake. The 259 stairs are no joke, but well worth the climb for the great time on the water.

First trip to Norris Lake, and it did not disappoint! Such a clean, clear lake with perfect temperature for boating and floating. The house/dock is in a small, very quiet cove with few other properties. Kids and adults alike enjoyed jumping from the second story deck. The dock is perfect for shade and sun, fishing and floating. 10 minute boat ride from Whitman’s Marina, which we’d highly recommend if you are looking to rent a boat. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff that made it easy. The stairs to the dock are no joke! The first day, we took 40 at a time, regular pace, then took about a 30 second pause and resumed and repeated, and even those who were in great shape found them difficult. Switched up our strategy and took a step about every 2 seconds and then made it up without any pauses. Slow and steady is the way to go! And we enjoyed quick dips in the hot tub after the climb. Be very careful when the stairs are wet, though! After a full day of storms, with no sunlight to dry them, they are very slippery. I took a small spill down a few but luckily caught myself before going any further. Plan trips up and down wisely and make sure you don’t forget anything! The house was a good size for our group of 6, though I think any more would be tough with only 1 bathroom. We lost power one day and water another, but both were only for a few hours and Chuck was very responsive and quickly communicated with utility companies to keep us updated. Great trip, will return!
