Jacksboro, Tennessee
Feel like you are in a 'tree house'...yet have a private double deck dock in a private cove! Whether you are a house-boater, skier, fisherman, sightseer, sunbather, or water sports lover, Norris Lake has it all. Norris Lake was created by the construction of the Norris Dam in 1936. This hydroelectric project was the Tennessee Valley Authority’s first. The lake’s beautiful blue-green waters span more than 800 miles of shoreline covering 34,000 acres. Norris’ boundaries extend up the Clinch and Powell rivers which feed Norris with clear, pristine waters. It’s an ideal environment for sportsmen and vacationers alike. Please be aware that there are 250 +/- steps from the cabin to the dock (and back up again!!). Well worth the effort to get there and back, but we like to be sure our customers know this before committing to the rental.
This home is situated in a beautiful cove on Lake Norris. It has 2 bedrooms and the basement is a bunk area/game room. The upstairs has a king size bed in one of the rooms and the other room has a queen size bed, one full bathroom with shower/and tub , separate private hot tub house, porch, stairs to the dock, basement area with couches/queen bed, 1 single bed with trundle single under both the beds in the basement bunk area. There is high speed internet and TV's both upstairs and in the bunk room. Washer and Dryer are downstairs.
Enjoy the beautiful wildlife, private setting, swimming, boat slip, jet ski slip, lots of lounge chairs, fishing.... all you need to relax and 'get away' from it all!
Closest marinas by car are Whitman Hollow Marina and Indian River Marina, and by boat--Sequoyah Marina is closest. Boat rentals are available at all three of these marinas.

The good....the swimming spot is the best we ever had. The dock and swimming spot are tremendous and the bright spot of listing. The bad.....the walk from the water is unbearable. It was a struggle for everyone in our group. If you have children or belongings to carry up it's worse. 245 steeep steps is the most we've ever had renting on Norris lake. We wouldn't do it again. The ugly......the house is in desperate need of repairs. Two of the three sliding glass doors were not working. The hot tub leaks and would not shut off. It rained and water came in the basement and got some of our belongings wet. The basement isn't as finished as it appears in pictures. The dinette chairs feel like you are falling through them. One of the people found the mattress in the basement to be so bad they slept on the couch. The tray that holds silverware in the dishwasher has holes in the bottom and silverware falls through. No kitchen towels or rags. House is older and needs updates and repairs.
Cabin was wonderful! The owner was ver responsive and couldn’t ask for a better location.
The location is wonderful, away from other houses. Very quiet with lots of bird’s singing. The access to the water is perfect.
If you want seclusion to relax this is it. Steps are many but worth the effort. Quiet cove and awesome deck.
Would be a great place to summer vacation. The weather could have been better for our March stay but we made the best out of it. Would have loved to lounge out on the dock all day, just not in high 30 to low 40 deg temps. Would love to plan a summer trip here.
Just a wonderful cabin in the beautiful woods. Dock was awesome with everything you would need. The stairs were fun and a conversation piece. All smiles from us. Beautiful lake with great marinas close by. Sequoyah marina was our favorite with Whitman dock up next.
Great nice place in a cove
I've stayed all over Norris Lake and this is one of the prettiest coves + has an awesome dock to hang out at. It was worth the 250+ stairs in my opinion but is not for everyone, so be aware, bring tennis shoes, and pack for the entire day before you head down! Everything was clean and well stocked. Hot tub has it's on separate building and quiet spacious! Being pet friendly was a huge plus. The tree canopy at the house makes you feel like you're in a forest and we even saw a few deer during our stay - it's a secluded/private area. The only thing that would have been nice is power closer to the dock. You'll need 350' of extension cords to reach the dock from the house.
Our family enjoyed our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The area is very peaceful and secluded. The dock is the best part and worth the trip up and down the stairs. Chuck was responsive and an awesome host. Would definitely stay again.
This home is in a beautiful spot, you can not beat the location on the lake, its in a cove and its so pretty. The trees surrounding the home is so nice also.
Had a great time with family and close friends. The dock is absolutely amazing. Be prepared to walk the 264 shaded steps up though. The house was just as described and Chuck is very tentative to messages.
We took home most of our food and other supplies since this house came well stocked. The stairs down to the dock weren't as challenging as the reviews suggested, until you decided to climb back up. Yet that daily climb was a little adventure each day! No problem for the 20-30 crowd, the 50+ crowd will have to take a couple of breaks. We loaded up the boat with all our dock gear and saved hauling it all down and back up. Our host also provided many games and books. We brought our own of course but it was nice to see them available. Our only complaint was the fireworks and wrappers in the yard from the 4th. There was stormy weather prior to, and the day of, our arrival and that may have been the cause of the inadequate cleanup outside. The house was neat and clean tho, and this was the only reason we didn't give 5 stars across the board. We found out this was the last property before TVA lands. If you want to be away from the build up, this secluded cove is for you. Thanks very much for letting us stay. We had a great time and hope to return.
Enjoy staying there had real good time
Had a wonderful time. It was a great family vacation and very relaxing.
Nice location in the cove on Big Creek. We had a fun week and plan to come back to Norris soon. The water is crystal clear 10 feet down.
The property is gorgeous. The host keeps in contact and leaves you a basket full of goodies. The stairs are tough but it's in the listing. After a week stay I'm ready to tackle them with ease. The 2 story dock is gorgeous and so much fun to hang at. Highly recommend staying there.
This property is the perfect location if your looking to have your own space. Not a lot of boat traffic and nice area to swim. Perfect cozy housing. As long as 1 trip up to the house in the evening is all you need.
We had such a wonderful memorial weekend here and lot of family came to enjoy the floating dock and double decker pontoon we rented with us. We ALL had such an amazing time! The steps are very difficult but when you get to the bottom the floating boat dock makes it all worth the while! Honestly you don’t even need a boat to enjoy the lake here! I hope we can come back again one day!
