Scenically situated on five acres of land with over 500 feet of access to Talona Creek, this beautiful lodge in Talking Rock provides a gorgeous natural setting, plentiful at-home entertainment, and a sense of ease and relaxation just about an hour from downtown Atlanta.
This newly built, creekside home sits on a hillside among the trees, a quick drive from the quaint towns of Jasper and Ellijay and close to such local landmarks as the Talking Rock Nature Preserve. A gravel path leads from the house down to the creek below, allowing you to take in the calming sounds of the water from the chairs and picnic tables at the water's edge as well as the home's two levels of wrap-around deck space (partially screened for your comfort).
As you enter this three-level, air-conditioned lodge, you'll be greeted by a great room with soaring ceiling and an 86-inch flatscreen TV mounted to the decorative stone hearth that's easily viewed from both the kitchen and the dining area. The kitchen is a dream for the home chef, offering polished stainless steel appliances (including a French-door refrigerator, a gas stove, and a dishwasher), granite countertops, and an island breakfast bar. Sit down to eat indoors or get the gas grill going outside for an al fresco meal on the deck or at the picnic tables down by the creek.
Leave the day's clothes to spin in the private washer/dryer and take your pick of ample after-dinner entertainment. You can lounge on the screened porch, stream a movie in the great room, or retreat to the downstairs recreation area to find a pool table, Ping-Pong, darts, a poker table, a wet bar, a theater room, and a selection of board games. There's even a desk with a monitor, a printer, and an executive chair in the loft if you need to catch up on a bit of work using the high-speed WiFi.

So, we have had a great stay once we finally got to the house on Saturday night. The game room is amazing! We loved the way the house was layed out The walk to the creek is beautiful. The creek is so peaceful when you listen from the deck. In getting here it was a very rough night, though. We initially pulled up into Biguns BBQ parking lot about 11:30 and the gate was locked. This would have been one way into the area with the rental lodge. So, it would be nice to know for guests to know that the Biguns BBQ does lock at a certain time and it cuts off access to the less steep way in to the rental. The directions that I received told us to turn in off of Hwy 5 to the right on a gravel road. This is a fast moving highway. A sign, a light, and perhaps a turn lane needs to be placed before the turn in on Hwy 5 so that renters can locate this blind driveway. Once you get past the gate, it is unclear which way to go in the dark. The directions do not address the fork in the road. At night, you can't see the house to the right side of the fork. We went left. We went down by the creek and we could not get back up the hill in my Acura after we turned around. We had to call the Pickens Co sheriff and a tow truck to come and try to help us. We finally got out of there and over to the house. If there had been a light left on, we could have seen the house also. Finally, no where on the listing does it mention anything about 4 wheel drive. Thanks! Blessings, Cara Christy
We stayed at this property between Christmas and New Year's and had an amazing time. We had 3 families with kids plus my parents, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Loved having the master suite on the main level so my parents didn't have to navigate stairs. The location was great, secluded with a beautiful stream running through the backside of the property, but only 10-15 minutes to grocery stores and restaurants. The table tennis and pool table got lots of use, and the media room was a great addition to our stay! We have stayed in numerous cabins in north GA and I must say everyone agreed this was the best one yet! We'll definitely be back.
We had an amazing time at this cabin. We had 13 people total and we felt like we had plenty of space and sleeping arrangements were comfortable. The layout of the cabin and the creek was so peaceful. My only advice for future guests- taking the road behind Biguns BBQ is much safer than the hidden turn right off the highway that the GPS will take you.
Well appointed with games, technology, and seating areas.
Our stay was nice. It was quite and the house was clean. The path to get to the house was steep.
The space was clean and spacious for our family gathering of 12. There were plenty of activities for our grandchildren and they loved the Media room, popcorn machine and stream.
Incredibly lucky that this house was still available as we had a last minute shift from another management company. I booked online through Vacasa directly and it was an easy experience. The house was super clean and had quite a number of items I wasn't expecting (dishes, silverware, some coffee waiting for us, etc.). The house easily supports 4 families and allowed us to each have our own space to get away as necessary. The property reminds me of a Hallmark movie home and they should petition to get it into one of their movies. It's really nice. I 100% recommend it and will be staying here again, absolutely.
This place was amazing! Everything was so nice and just like the pictures. The only downside is the creek is down a very steep long hill so you have to be in good shape to go up and down it. The creek is also very rustic so if you plan on walking down the bank to fish it’s very difficult. We caught several Little Rock Bass. Also the driveway in and out you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it easy. There is an alternate route in and out not show that is easier, we found that on the last day. The kitchen also has everything you would need to cook. Our vacation was all around great!
The house was great. Smart TVs are a little hard to figure out without instructions. Overall, a great stay.
