Spruce Pine, North Carolina
Our beautiful cabin, built in11/2018, is ready for you to enjoy! Some of our guests have been wanting a larger cabin than our cozy and lovely first two, and we are happy to now offer a cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, as well as larger living areas, porch and hot tub. We believe it will be perfect for 2 to 4 adults, and it also contains a convertible couch for children if needed.
The new cabin is separated by Christmas and other trees from the other two cabins so that it provides the level of privacy that our guests expect and appreciate. We also are adding additional landscaping close to the house during the winter and spring, including rhododendrons, azaleas, mountain laurel, and other native plants and fruit trees.
In front of the cabin is an open field that is frequented by deer and turkey, and beyond is a wooded knoll with the Black Mountains behind that. The view from the porch is lovely, including a view of our spring fed pond. The creek beyond the pond runs along the front of our property. We also again put our hot tub on an open part of the deck so guests can enjoy the stars and fireflies while they soak at night. The rest of the porch is covered and perfect for enjoying rain, fog and/or sunny days as you lounge in the furniture.
Every season has a special beauty here and we love it all the time. Winter brings the best views and sunsets, and a special peace when the occasional snow arrives. Summer is best for outdoor activities, and both the spring and fall have the most color. Spring starts in March with crocus, tulips and then daffodils and reaches its peak in late May and early June when the native catawba rhododendrons, mountain laurel and azaleas are in full bloom. A visit to Roan Mountain and Carver s Gap is recommended in any season, but its natural rhododendron gardens are not to be missed in early June. Except for possibly July, October is the peak of the tourist season as everyone loves to see the changing leaves of fall.
If you tire of enjoying the property, there are plenty of alternatives for fun in the area, particularly if you enjoy nature. The cabin is only 2 miles from downtown Little Switzerland, which includes a famous old hotel and restaurant, a second restaurant that serves delicious lunches, and a great book store. However, the biggest asset of this beautiful area is the Blue Ridge Parkway, which can be entered or exited at the foot of the Switzerland Inn. We provide our guests with a written memorandum of many things to do in the area ranging from hikes and views, drives, activities ranging from horseback riding and white water rafting to things like visiting museums and gem mines or going for a day or evening to Asheville. But the focus on a trip to Little Switzerland and our property should be to enjoy nature, natural beauty, and peace. We say that a visit to our property is like soul shine, and it is best enjoyed when you arrive with an open mind, ready to enjoy whatever direction your spirit takes and the weather permits during your time here. It's a magical area and incredible beauty is found in all seasons.

We enjoyes our stay, just wish we had known EVERYTHING around shuts down and is closed until March 1! It would have been nice to know ahead of time. We have been to this little cabin once before, we did enjoy our visit and managment was very helpful with our internet issues and weather concerns. I would suggest updating the couch and beds. But absolutely recommend this little cabin for a quiet visit to the mountains!
Overall it was a cute and comfortable place for the weekend.
Excellent stay. Convenient to a lot of entertainment but away enough to get away. The night sky view and view from deck is breathtaking. House was clean and comfortable. The WiFi is limited but wasn’t an issue with all the stuff to do around the area.
Very nice place. Well equiped. Only thing that needs improvement in my opinion, HVAC registers are rusty and should be replaced.
Cozy cabin, very secluded. Basic things you might need are already there. Dishes, cookware, paper towels. Bathroom has TP, fluffy towels. There are even robes in the large closets for when you get out of the hot tub! Very enjoyable stay! Especially liked hiking to the falls. Roaring Fork and Crabtree. Would definitely go back again
We loved our little cabin in the mountains and if it had new beds it would be really great.
Clean, lots of room. Great view
Very quiet, clean, stress free stay. Close to Many attractions and easy in/out.
We loved staying at this cabin. It has been the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed. Property manager sent info well in advance. My youngest child enjoyed the field in front of the property while playing and chasing birds . When booking, consider the time of the year and get info about the towns nearby. Info in the cabin must be updated. A lot places were still closed when we got there, and some just opened. There are a lot of places to explore, we had a great time.
We loved this place. The driving instructions are good but we had to take some help from locals to get to the place cz it's already dark the roads are icy. Three cabins are far enough you have the privacy and they are close enough not to make you feel like you are all alone in wilderness. Just a note: the dice is missing in the monopoly box. So couldn't play ? we just rearranged all the cards. We would love to go there again.
Property owners communicated well with instructions. The cabin was in great shape, had everything we needed, was clean, and easy to access. We went there to get away and do a bit of nothing, sit in the hot tub, and read on the porch. We did everything we wanted to do. Bed was comfy, ambience in the cabin was cool. We saw a deer, and heard lots of roosters and turkeys. We had a super time.
Great Cabin! Hot Tub was awesome! Fire pit(if you wanna call it that) was disappointing and 50 yards from cabin...we ended up buying a 30 dollar metal one from Walmart...Wifi was good and stable. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms! The entire cabin was very clean! We went to Crabtree Falls and it was amazing...it's a tough hike, but mainly on the return trip back up the trail from the falls. Make sure you have good shoes on. All in all...we will come back!
My husband and I enjoyed our 7th wedding anniversary at the cozy cabin #3. We spent our nights in the hot tub star-gazing and our days exploring Crabtree Falls, the Mining Museum, and the Little Switzerland Inn. This was a wonderful weekend getaway for us. Thank you!
Property was spotless and just as listed!
The cabin was absolutely beautiful - the wood was amazing, the setting was very quiet, gorgous scenery surrounded by the highest mountain peaks on the east coast. The cabin was set up with everything you could need - toiletries, soaps, towels, Hot Tub - and clothes to wear to the hot tub! We really loved spending time there and did lots of hiking on rugged trails. We had roosters waking us up in the distance and just peace!
Nice location. Nice cabin. Charcoal grill which worked fine. Close to Little Switzerland,Blue Ridge Parkway, and a nice gem mine. Close to Spruce Pines which is a nice little town. Hot tub was nice.
Was a very good property. Was peaceful. Loved sitting on porch and enjoying the view.
We were very pleased w/the hostesses accommodations to us and glad we went! It’s a great cabin in a good location. We will be back.
Cabin was clean and fit the description perfectly. We really enjoyed the seclusion from the other cabins as well. We had a great relaxing weekend.
