The property was amazing! The house/cabin was extremely neat & clean, kitchen was nice, charcoal grill was right up our alley. The property is out,in what seems to be in the middle of nowhere, very tastefully decorated and furnished. Even though it has at least one MS State article someone from Ole Miss would be very satisfied with this property. Highest of recommendations.
A fabulous hidden location. relaxing. Charming.
Visiting family again in Mississippi, and second time staying at this wonderful retreat. Everything about this property was stellar.
Everything was great. Property was clean and grounds well maintained. Just wish it had wifi
Wonderful experience but prepare guests for no internet or tv.
This cabin and property provide a perfect location to unplug. The cabin is furnished with quality furniture and tasteful accents. There are several comfortable sitting areas, both inside and outside. We especially loved sitting on the deck listening to the birds and relaxing on the screened-in porch under the ceiling fan. I hope to return.
Wonderful cabin tucked away for a quiet, peaceful retreat from the business of everyday life. We thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend trip here, surrounded by beautiful trees, a stunning pond and lots of bird watching. The cabin itself was well equipped and offered a screened patio as well as an outdoor back deck overlooking the pond. Great place to “unplug” and appreciate the beauty of the property and nature itself!
Excellent place to stay.
We loved the cozy and comfortable ambiance of the home in the woods...it had everything we needed! We attended a wedding in Canton Square and being able to come home to this place made the stay memorable.... very quiet, beautiful surroundings plus there were ducks and deer on the property.... we loved it!
The house was very comfortable, absolutely enjoyed being away from the city and sitting on the back porch. There was everything we could have asked for to make our stay easy.
I'm incredibly thankful for our generous and gracious hosts! Highly recommend working with Eva!
We rented this house for a week to spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family. My family (me, husband, teenage son) and my Dad and his girlfriend stayed. There was more than enough room for all of us. Towels and blankets galore. Wonderfully stocked kitchen. This house far exceeded our expectations. The screened in porch and HUGE deck overlooking the pond were favorite spots. We were spoiled with beautiful weather, though when the rain cooled things down the gas fireplace warmed things right up. The house is in the country, but a quick drive to Canton, Madison, Jackson, and the reservoir. It was a treat to wake up to the views every morning. You will not be disappointed in any way, and we are already planning a trip back.
This cabin could not be more perfect. It gives the illusion that you are far out, but really you are just 20 minutes from anything. The cabin is spotless & well stocked. The beds are extremely comfortable and the setting is beyond relaxing. Hated to leave!
We had a great stay! The only thing we'd change would be adding wifi, as we were there for a month or so for work.
This property is very beautiful and secluded in the woods. Super clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
This is the perfect place if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful location with a gorgeous view. The large deck overlooking a small pond was perfect for morning coffee and family time. The cabin was the perfect size for 6 adults. The beds were comfortable and the home has a wonderful old home vibe with all of the modern necessities. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
Relaxing
The house was wonderful…very clean and comfortable. The screen porch was where we spent most of our time. It’s a little off the beaten path but so worth it once you’re there!
If you want to book this cabin at the perfect time, come in late April. The days will be cool enough to comfortably hike the Natchez Trace Trails, the red lilies scattered all around the property will be at their peak, mornings on the screen porch (my absolute favorite spot) will be mild and breezy and bursting with bird songs, and you may even need the gas log fire place for a night or two. This cabin is aptly called a retreat because you will drive on some little, out-of-the-way country roads to get there, and you’ll be unplugged from wifi the whole time—but everywhere you look, both inside and outside, you’ll see beauty; you’ll enjoy the well-stocked, modern kitchen and the skylights over the dining area; and if you’re a reader you will be IMPRESSED with the thoughtful selection of books on the bookshelves and delighted with all the perfect spots to cuddle up with a book. We really hated to say goodbye. If you are using Google maps to get there, please note that their very last direction has the cabin on the wrong side of the road—and there is a driveway over there, but it leads nowhere. You will know you’ve found the right entrance when you immediately come through a wide, iron gate (pictured) and see a grassy, landscaped lawn. Also, the mailbox is on the same side of the road as the cabin.
We enjoyed a time of family fun and relaxation. The house provided all that we needed and more. It was exactly what our family needed for a close and relaxing getaway. The screened porch was a favorite spot for sitting, reading, and for the kids to paint and color. It had plenty of space for our family of 5 and grandparents.
This was our family’s first trip to MS and we loved the location of this cabin. It’s in a nice quiet/ rural area with a beautiful pond in the backyard. Our children (ages 5-9 years old) loved playing outside and catching lizards! The fireplace was a lovely way to wake up each morning. Our family (4 adults and 4 kids) were able to all sleep comfortably and had plenty of space during our stay. The screened in back porch is a nice spot to enjoy your morning coffee!! All the beds were comfortable, including the pull out mattress in the couch. Plenty of towels/linens. Owners were quick to respond to any questions. We had an issue with the oven, but Eva was kind and apologetic. She said she plans to resolve that for future guests. It was a beautiful and relaxing home- hope to come back again one day. Places we enjoyed in the area: Children’s Museum, Le Fluer’s Bluff Park, Lemuria Bookstore, MS Agriculture/Forestry Museum, and Governor’s Mansion. 2 spots for food: Brent’s Soda Fountain and Mama Hamil’s. Thanks for a GREAT getaway!!!!!!
Our family came to the area to support our son at his collegiate fishing tournament. We did day trips to New Orleans, Destrehan Plantation, and Monroe Louisiana. Wonderful adventures!!! The property is beautiful and was perfect for our stay. Only thing we would change next time— plan more time to be at the house and enjoy the scenery, screened in porch and walks around the pond. awesome property !!!!! Great communication with owners 10+ ??♥️
