Mountaineer Cabin 2 - Hot Tub & Fireplace close to New River Gorge National Park

Did not have time to use the hot tub

The location of the cabin was perfect. Close to New River Gorge and a short drive to restaurants. The cabin itself was lackluster. Dated with a few maintenance issues. Adequately clean but items remained from previous renters. We couldn't sit out on the porch during the day as there was an infestation of wasps (a can of Raid in the hot tub area indicated they knew of the issue). Fought with the coffee maker on morning one. Morning two, it wouldn't work at all. Contacted the host whose reply was Sorry. Maybe time for a new one. It's not that old. No replacement was provided for the rest of our stay. WiFi, while advertised, was unstable and almost unusable. We wouldn't go back.

We stayed for two nights and I wish we had a few more! The cabin was adorable and comfortable. The hot tub was great after a day of hiking at New River Gorge. Don’t miss the Glade Creek Grist Mill falls a few miles away also. We would come back and we would highly recommend!

Everything was great until Saturday night Bunch of cars parking in front of the cabin a rented. I was enjoying the hot tub and relaxing that was the purpose but all this cars parking in front of the hot tub. People were loud and my boyfriend and I didn’t feel comfortable with all that people there even though the hot tub was private it was annoying to hear and see all these people. Lots of people for one cabin. I couldn’t enjoy my Saturday night at all. The cabin was great.

Loved our stay! Cabin was exceptionally clean. It seemed tucked away from the city, but at the same time so convenient to drive into Fayetteville to enjoy local restaurants, raft, or enjoy hikes at New River Gorge. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back!

Every thing was good, except I got up this morning found a cockroach under our buns on the counter. It grossed me out. I wrote a note and put it on the counter.

The cabin was great! Very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Hot tub was also clean and private. Used the grill and fire pit area. Only thing wrong was we couldn’t find linen for the pull out couch which we did need. Not sure if I was supposed to bring but I thought linens were a part of rental. Not a huge deal -we managed. Me and my two young adult sons had a great time zip lining and white water rafting- both were a short drive away. Highly recommend!

Grass wasn't mowed, linen was musty smelling and the beds were supposed to be queens and wasnt. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

We thoroghly enjoyed this clean little cabin. Weve stayed at a lot of VRBO homes and this was so well equipped. We cooked most meals there and had everything we need. We will b back.

The property is delightful. Appears exactly as it does on the listing. Very easy access to Fayetteville and the national park.

The cabin was clean and was perfect for a weekend getaway! There are no chairs for the fire, so I’d bring folding chairs if I stayed again.

All good but, toilet overflowed. Fixed it. Bathroom door handle loose. No tools to fix.

The cabin was the perfect size for our family. The location was perfect to get to the new river gorge area for hiking and the visitors center as well as the added bonus of Babcock state park which was also a great place to visit. I will say that while the piggly wiggly is closer for groceries, the Kroger had much better prices. Just keep that in mind when shopping. Also if you get a chance be sure to go to the secret society of sandwiches in Fayetteville. You won’t be disappointed. The hot tub was perfect, access to 3 different types of grills to cook on was pleasantly unexpected, and while the other cabins are close they aren’t close enough to make you feel like you didn’t have plenty of space. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Great place for our family to launch various outdoor spring adventures. The kids really loved the hot tub.

Perfect for 3 of us and our dog. Close to everything we wanted to see. Outdoor space was sunny and welcoming

The host and staff were excellent, I rented the cabin to propose to my girlfriend and they went the extra mile to make the whole experience magical for us.

The cabin was very clean, updated and well maintained! Our host had great communication and check in was very easy! Our only negative was the hot tub cover was a little hard to mange for two older adults! Also, providing some firewood would definitely add to the stay, especially in winter!

Loved this cabin. It was so cozy that it made us wish we'd planned to stay longer just to hang out here! Absolutely a perfect place to have a mountain getaway close to Fayetteville and the national park!

Nice and cozy cabin, everything was great

The cabins are well maintained , clean and cozy . I was pleasantly surprised based on other cabins I've stayed in . Very nice living area and the bedrooms not a far drive to the trails Would highly recommend

The cabin was just what we needed and expected for our extended weekend. Instructions were straight forward and easy to follow

They were finishing up cleaning when i showed up. The previous renter stayed late. The cabin was very clean with everythingI needed in the kitchen. shampoo, conditioner and body wash in shower. Bed was comfortable. I enjoyed an inside fire on a nice fall day. Hot tub was just what i needed after a day of hiking with the pups. Close to NRG and other hiking trails. I needed help with the door code, but had a quick resolution. I would definitelystay here again if I find myself in the area.

My family had a great stay. Host was responsive and informative. Cabin was exactly as advertised. A great location if looking to visit New River Gorge!

We were given the wrong key code and had to figure it out on our own

The hot tub was pretty slimy day one of being there, but the worst thing was cockroaches in the kitchen sink every morning. My husband went down to talk to the owner, but he was nowhere to be found. I understand it's in the woods, but we grilled out all week and had no dishes sitting around so they definitely need to bomb the cabin...

Had a great stay at the cabin, came down to go rafting and it was super close to everything and the hot tub was awesome!

We enjoyed staying in Cabin 2; and it had everything we needed. The communication with Paul, the owner, was excellent, and we loved the hikes and restaurants that he recommended. Although the location was private with a wonderful front porch, the constant road noise prevents us from giving a 5-star review.Thanks for a terrific stay!

The stay in this vrbo was very cozy and just what we needed. It had everything necessary for a weekend trip. It was extremely convenient with an easy driving distance to all the activities and downtown. Very clean and well kept. The hot tub was a nice addition along with the porch swing and outdoor grill. I would recommend this stay.

The cabin was so nice and comfortable, We enjoyed the hot tub every night after a day out site seeing and doing tours. Bred was so comfortable. We would stay here again if every in the area.
