We had an amazing time! The cabin was in a great location and great price! We were able to make dinner, relax by a fire inside and outside, and access streaming services. There were a few things that made the stay... not the best. The dogs next door were horrendous. We specifically picked a location with a backyard for our little dog who had back surgery and is recovering from being paralyzed. We wanted her to be able to roam and safely be outside with us after a really rough time... There are three big dogs next door that can stick their head under the fence to bark. I was really worried they would be able to get fully under it if they kep digging. Minimum they'll just sit there and bark at us and our dog when we are in the back yard. In addition, I think they might be breeders bc you could see the two boys dogs taking turns with the one female dog all day. I say that as a warning in case anyone tries to bring kids... it was graphic. That was the biggest issue but there really isn't anything the property managers can do so I didn't complain but I wanted it to be known to others who might stay. The other quirk was that there are big rectangle holes above each door to the bedrooms and bathroom which means you have zero privacy. You can hear everything bc there is basically a window you can't close into each room. I don't know why they are there or why they wouldn't close it up for privacy. Gorgeous location. Really close to Flagstaff. Cheap.
We love our dogs! It’s important for us when we travel to find a place that is clean, comfortable and most important, safe for our dogs. The Armstrong House checked all those boxes! The house is very clean and well kept, it was relaxing to sit on the back porch and play a board game knowing our dogs were completely safe inside the fully fenced property. We really enjoyed it and we will be back in winter to snowboard. Thanks!
This property was just lovely and the yard was fully gated so my dogs could run around and play The neighborhood was ok, it gives you a reminder why HOAs exist, but the neighborhood did not impact my wonderful getaway. I will absolutely be brining my dogs back in the winter to play in the snow
Pros - clean and comfortable. Quiet community. Just a few houses down from trails. Cons - houses are super close together. Unable to enjoy the beautiful backyard because neighbors dogs (3 of them) would stand on a deck overlooking the Mountainaire property and nonstop bark. No window covering for the bathroom window . As a tall female, I felt very uncomfortable using the bathroom at night and so kept the light off.
The only complaint we would have would be the beds. They were very hard and not comfortable. We had a great time and loved the area.
My family of three stayed in this little cozy cabin with our two dogs and it was great. We visited Sedona Arizona , which was only about thirty minutes away. We did have a problem in how to turn on the fire place , customer service responded right away, so it was a quick fix.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean and worked well for 4 adults and an infant. We spent much of our time on the back patio or by the fire pit. The little house was also perfect for our friendly dog who loved the fully enclosed backyard. We were surprised to find it in a subdivision with neighbors directly next door on both sides, but it was overall a quiet and peaceful stay.
My husband and I needed a few days away and picked this nice cabin out in the forest. It is decently close to everything in Flagstaff (at most 20 minute drive away) depending on where you are going in Flag. The cabin itself is pretty small with respect to the living space, with just the one couch and a small kitchen area with a bar to eat at. But for the two of us this was perfect. There was also a nice backyard area that we enjoyed since the weather was just about perfect the time we were there. We would also gladly book the same place with another couple. Though I would say that it would be a bit too small if we were to bring our two kids.
This is a bright and cheerful little cabin with a nice back yard in a great location, a quiet residential street with a trailhead only a couple of hundred feet from the front door that leads to an a network of forest trails. The interior has been thoughtfully updated and is nicely laid out. Heating is via a gas fireplace with supplemental space heaters in the rooms, and there are transoms over the bedroom doors to let the air circulate. This could be a privacy issue if two couples rented the cabin, but otherwise it works great. It is very pet-friendly, there were no noise issues and the trails are lovely.
A nice, clean cabin.
