Mountain view cabin in Banner Elk near Sugar & Beech Mt

The cabin was clean and was very welcoming.

This magnificent cabin was the perfect getaway..the host /owner could not have been anymore pleasant and kind. Truly cared about our comfort.

Very cozy cabin. Had a wonderful time relaxing! The host provided a lot of little extras in the cabin. Enjoyed the front porch for morning coffee, the fireplace during our cool nights and bright sun room for our puzzling. Perfect for our dog too.

This cabin is incredible. Very cozy and the experience was made even better by the host. Very accommodating and responsive. Have stayed in multiple cabins around Boone/blowing rock/Banner elk over the past several years. this has definitely been the best thus far!

This cabin is the perfect place to spend time with family. We were unable to tube due to weather, it poured Saturday, but we played games and hung out and had a great time. For the cook in the house, the kitchen is fully stocked. We enjoyed looking at the family pictures and seeing the history of the cabin. Also, the Internet is fast for those with minimal service.

Everything we needed for a great stay was included in the house - plenty of towels and linens, blankets, and well stocked kitchen. The house was comfortable and the communication with the owner was easy and prompt.

Property owner was very proactive. Beautiful views. Clean. Already miss the place and I just left.

Everything was very nice! Home was very cozy! It snowed while we were there and really enjoyed the fireplace and the views.

Outstanding getaway from it all. The cabin has all you need plus a fantastic location from the views to the proximity to Banner Elk. Host is genuinely concerned about making your stay in her wonderful home a good one. We will be going back.

My husband and I rented this sweet cabin for our anniversary trip. The cabin itself is just that - it’s a log cabin. It is not fancy. It is not new. But it is comfy and cozy with a feel of Grandma’s house. The front porch was where we spent most of our time watching the deer eat acorns and apples from the trees in the yard. The view from the porch is beautiful. The little red barn and the weathered fence added to the charm. I enjoyed the comfy back porch. There isn’t much of a view from there as the trees still had all their leaves. Even so, that porch is super cozy with all the over sized furniture. It was a great place to curl up with a book. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and there’s a kettle for tea, a drip coffee maker, a toaster, and a microwave. The fridge does not have an ice maker so plan ahead for ice. The gas grill is located under the carport around back. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in the basement. There is a rental lodge and a ‘treehouse’ to the left of this house that I did not realize was there prior to arrival. Just be aware that it is not shown in any of the photos. We did have a couple of little issues, one with a tv and a little cleaning issue but the host and the cleaning guy were both very prompt to reply. I have no complaints at all. It was a lovely stay and we look forward to a return visit. Mary Frances is a wonderful, considerate host!

Mary Francis was an awesome host. The O’Malley cabin is a wonderful place to have a family get together and enjoy peace and quiet. We would come back again in a heartbeat.

The cabin was amazing everything was up to par we saw over 30 deer some nice bucks and turkey easy in and out close to everything you need thank you so much for letting us stay in your cabin I would love to live there

Beautiful vew

The cabin was perfect. Plenty of space, rooms large, and the view spectacular. The front lawn, watching the deer in the field, sitting in the rockers on the front porch, making our family mini-vacation an incredibly fun time. Mary Frances was amazing to work with. Can't wait to plan our next vacation in this perfect location and cabin! Highly recommend!

Great cabin on a mountain! Wooden rocking chairs and a porch swing made for great porch sitting. The beautiful scenery and extremely comfortable beds helped make this stay amazing. Fresh air from open windows at night was just what the doctor ordered. Driveway is a little bit of an adventure for motorcycles but still doable for advanced riders.

This is an old small cabin on a piece of land. No real Mountain View. Unfortunately the trout pond was still not working and the host was extremely helpful allowing us to depart early without penalty due to this. It was a warm time in Banner Elk and not having AC or window units made sleeping hard.

Our family loved this spacious cabin!! The bedrooms were perfect, along with the front porch, especially the swing! The kitchen was well stocked! We saw hummingbirds on the red flowers, a friendly chipmunk, turkeys, and heard an owl hooting at night! We also LOVED all the milkweed in the field and even saw some Monarch butterflies! We loved the peaceful setting, and we hope to return in the future! The log cabin is beautiful! We stayed in the middle of the summer and so it got a little hot, so we were very grateful for the fans in the bedrooms! Thanks to the host for letting us stay in this wonderful cabin!

The property was perfect for a weekend of skiing at Beech. The property was easily accessible and close to the slopes. The owner was very nice and easy to work with and she truly cared about the overall experience we had. Kitchen equipped for great meal preparation and home was clean with good sleeping accommodations. Overall the property felt safe and peaceful watching the deer graze through in the mornings.

This is a very special place, beautiful setting, rustic, yet modern. We will definitely be back!

Property was as advertised. Very clean. 4wd required for access during winter. Mary Frances was a pleasure to work with. Followed up to make certain everything was good.

Cannot say enough good things about this cabin. Even after the devastation our NC mountains sustained most places are up and running again in this part of the mountains. While many people are still recovering from it all luckily this cabin was fortunate enough to not see any of the damage. Owner was in contact several times to make sure everything was good and Evan made sure we had enough wood to enjoy the fireplace while we were there.

The property was great and pet friendly. Close to some of our favorite places that we like to visit. The views around the cabin were great..We enjoyed the sunroom, use of fireplace. Really nice on the inside. Great place for family group or for a nice cozy get getaway. for a couple.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this property. It is obvious how much Mary Frances cares for this home and her guests. The house is close to many nearby attractions, but still secluded and peaceful with space for kids to run around and enjoy the fresh mountain air. We hope to return soon!
