My family rented this lovely cabin to beat the summer heat. Not only did we have a wonderful, relaxing weekend but this cabin was the icing on the cake. We will most definitely stay here again in the future.
The cabin had fabulous views, was convenient, well stocked, and clean.
Great location perfect for mixed age groups. The only negative was the sewerage smell in the basement accommodation no one wanted to use the bathroom down there. Amenities were plentiful. Would stay again
Great place, very well equipped. Definitely would stay there again.
The property was in a perfect location. The home was very clean. Kitchen was fully stocked and the pool table was a plus. The bottom floor did have a sewer odor. It was not that bad if you kept the bathroom door shut. We would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful cabin with everything you need (except Hot Tub). You will be surprised at the Views you will see from sunrise to sunset of Grandfather mountain. Only warnin is be very careful on the steps from the loft.
HORRIBLE ANNOYING INCONSIDERATE NEIGHBOR!!! We arrived a bit late and had four cars. So we couldn’t move two cars to a second location that was provided by the property manager that night. It was mean and very inconsiderate of a lady whom lived across the cabin to come over and knock on the door at 630am the next morning complaining that our cars are blocking her from getting out and we need to get them moved ASAP before she calls the tow company. After driving 14 hours to get there I had to be up at 7am and get my vehicle moved. At the end of the entire situation it wasn’t my vehicle that blocked her it was another car from another cabin. And for that I will not be returning to this cabin.
This is an excellent place to stay. However if a hot tub is a must have, this property if not for you!
So here's my real review (to put your mind at ease about recent previous reviews....) The place is Lovely. Yes, the driveway is steep - not for the faint of heart in winter, for sure. Yes, the downstairs toilet was technically clogged when we got there. (It had a suspicious piece of TP in there, so I flushed it and it overflowed.) The staff brought the cleaning supplies I requested, etc. Is it a dreadful toilet? No. Just don't use an extreme amount of TP and follow my husband's suggestion: flush before you go, then flush after you go. This advice worked for us. It was a comfy, laid-back place. We enjoyed it. Free Advice: Go Early to Linville Caverns or you're not gettin' in. Re-check your GPS for Linville Falls or you might find yourself in Linville Gorge *Wilderness* on a one-lane gravel road with side drop-off, praying for a place to turn around sooner than it's going to happen.... Enjoy the view of Grandfather Mountain! Mysterium was great! Blowing Rock was small, but a fun time. Mast General is always fun. Oh, and the actual Linville Falls are lovely.
We had a number of issues: - There was a stench downstairs which turned out to be a clogged toilet. It took plunging 4 different times to unclog it but the stench remained - downstairs quarters could not be used because of stench, smelly tap water and lack of a thermostat to warm that level - Stench in main level bathroom; also smelly tap water - Did not get to enjoy the fireplace, as the gas logs had been removed - unsteady handrails made me uneasy - storm door handle keeps coming off - flood lights burnt out - trash receptacle had to be left in the way in the kitchen, as the track to slide it in the cabinet was out of order - No thermostat downstairs ; no way to adjust heat on that level
