The name Morwood House came about because there are approximately 27 different varieties of wood throughout the home, most of them in the game room. Here, the floor is made from local Hickory with Black Walnut inlay. The ceiling is of white washed Maple, also patterned with Walnut and the walls are made from slabs of Dogwood, Catalpa, Sweet Gum, Black Locust, Mimosa, Persimmon, Osage Orange, Cypress and more, with Walnut inlay between each slab. This 2,400 sq. ft. home is very special andunique and has a warm, comfortable, cozy atmosphere. So, whether it is for a party of two or a large group, you will discover the perfect hideaway that makes you feel right at home! Wireless Internet. Come check out the latest updates to Morwood, new flooring, furniture updates and more. All new felt on the pool table as well.

In Newton County you will discover the tallest bluffs on the Buffalo River, the highest free falling water fall in mid America, no traffic control lights, no shopping malls, no marinas and no straight roads. It's absolutely beautiful here! But, if you get tired if the great outdoors, Branson, MO and Eureka Springs, AR, are only about an hour away. The whole setting was quiet and relaxing. Location was great - close to downtown Jasper and tons of hikes within an hour drive or less. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. We loved the hot tub (also clean), but the temp seemed to be fixed. It was still super enjoyable, we just wish we could have made it a few degrees hotter. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/pots/etc. The knives were extremely dull though, so if you plan on cooking/chopping, bring your own chef's knife. The deck has a nice view out the back; the upper deck outside the master suite seems a bit rickity on the left side, so we didn't really use that one. Seemed sturdy enough, but we preferred the lower deck with the hot tub. Other than those little things, we'd definitely stay again.

Wonderful place! Great location for side trips in either direction. Super comfy beds and pillows. Nice lush bath towels. Towels for hot tub too. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and entire house. Loved all the amenities: gas grill, hot tub, pool table, ping pong, fire pit, porch with the cushioned settee, picnic table. Nice view! The only reason I gave cleanliness a 4 is that back porch and glass table were not swept and cleaned prior to our arrival, however, that is minor compared to the great place it was. Also realize pine needles are always falling. Would definitely stay there again. Loved the whimsical quotes and items in the second bath. The master shower is wonderful too. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. Enjoyed learning about the many woods used throughout the house, especially in the large game room, which explained the name of the house: Moorwood House. Highly recommend staying at Moorwood House. We will be back!

We enjoyed the clean house and stunning views, but the old property showed its age. Issues included a non-functional bathroom in the master bedroom, worn-out windows, lack of cleaning supplies and laundry detergent, insufficient blankets, and an uncomfortable outdoor seating area. Despite these issues, the owners did request we wash towels after our stay.

House was great for 3 couples traveling together. The only negative is access off a sharp curve with a drop off the pavement onto a rough gravel drive. Access via motorcycle was a challenge. There were small things in the house in need of repair but otherwise a good time for all of us. The beds not bad but could use updating.

Great place to stay, close to great hikes, hot tub and game room is where we stayed most of the time. Not sure if the tv even came on. Owner is great had a simple issue with the furnace and he was there in less than 10 minutes. Breaker tripped. Also brought farm fresh eggs which was a great bonus.

This house has wonderful views from the backyard of the little buffalo River Valley and is surrounded by a beautiful forest. Very close to the quaint town of Jasper, Arkansas. It also is very easy to access the Buffalo River national Park from this location. Inside the house is accessible with a very large game room and plenty of room. We loved our stay!

We booked hoping to enjoy hiking but the weather had other plans. The booking though was perfect rainy weather house. We played pool and ping pong, made dinners, and enjoyed the view and hot tub as weather allowed. It was a great place to stay… and the chocolate gravy at ozark cafe is really good too.

This cabin was everything and more. I cannot say enough about this cabin... bedrooms at opposite ends of the house, great hot tub, great views from both decks, very spacious game room. Great kitchen, everything you need. We loved all of the brochures of attractions in the area. We were riding motorcycles, and even had detailed maps of where to ride. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone.

First, the positive. The house is great for family and friend get aways. The master bedroom is roomy, with lots of windows and deck with a great view. The game room is large and has a pool table and ping pong table. The house was extremely clean and the kitchen is very usable. The location is very easy to get to and is very close to downtown Jasper. There is a great hiking trail right up the road as well as a valley look out spot. Lots of hot water for long showers. We had just two negatives. One of which was very important to me and the other is just a circumstance of mother nature. The first issue is the claw foot tub. My wife loves to soak in these and one of the big reasons I made the house reservation is because this property had one. When she tried to use the tub, the water didn't work. No matter how the valves were turned, there was no water to fill the tub. So, this was a major disappointment for me. It didn't ruin the trip, but I was hoping to provide something nice for my wife. The second was the hot tub area. Where the peak of the roof ends several feet to the right and above the hot tub, red wasps had made a nest in the gable and were NOT pleased to find us in the hot tub. There were 30-40 of them flying in and around the end of the peak. I suspect it was the vibration from the jets that made them angry. Either way, we were not able to use this area because of the wasps.
