Location-Location-Location!! We choose this place over others was because of its close proximity to EVERYTHING!!. Both in driving and walking. You can walk less than 1/4 mile in one direction and you'll catch the shuttle buses to ski resorts. Saves the hassle and expense of parking. You can walk/ride your bike less than 1/4 in the opposite direction and you'll be in the National forest enjoying the hiking/biking trails.

During the spring/summer seasons, come enjoy the blooming of the plant life as you hike/bike your way on the mountain trails. We're also very close to an abundance of off road trails for the avid off road enthusiast both 2 and 4 wheelers. Beautiful mountain and desert views you can only experience from the BLM approved roads. There are places in town to rent off road vehicles or places that offer guided tours. Spring/Summer/Fall is the perfect time to experience these breath-taking views of the Mohave Desert below while you’re exploring the old gold mines!! Perfect Photo OPS!!

Also during the spring/summer and fall months you can rent at the local marina's all sorts or watercraft. Or you just take the Pirate ship or Liberty Paddle boat excursions around the lake and take in the views only the mountain can offer!! For additional spring/summer/fall activities our cabin is blocks from the zoo/golf/grocery/drug/retail stores.

For the winter/summer seasons Snow Summit and Bear mountain are just blocks from the cabin. Snow activities in the winter and mountain biking in the summer!! Both parks just recently did some major renovations since Aspen properties parent company acquired them. See their websites for details.

No need to drive. Shuttle bus stop is less than 1/4 mile from cabin. Catch the free trolley bus to Bear Lake Village and restaurants. Avoid the worries of over indulging and driving.

The location is great if you are looking to ski/board. It is near both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. The Host was so attentive to make sure we had everything needed. And the cabin had everything for a great stay.

This was our 2nd year in a row staying at this beautiful cabin in Big Bear and we'll definitely be back. I recommend this cabin 100% for multiple reasons but mostly due to the ease of communication and the helpfulness of the hosts.

Overall the house was clean and comfortable. The hosts included many nice extras such as mini shampoo, soap and lotion, plenty of towel. T Also, it was great having every possible kitchen appliance and tool needed. Our favorite was the Keurig with several flavors to choose from. For those seeking a nice soak after a hike, the hot tub was also a welcomed feature...very nice.On the down side, both queen beds could use updated mattresses and are a very high off the floor. The twin bed stuffed in the master only makes sense if you have a small child. Instead we wish there had just been a bigger bed and more space.Location looked good on the map, and yes, you can walk to many places like the zoo and golf course. However, the house is sandwiched in very close to other rentals on both sides. Take note that on weekends, especially holidays, some long term renters have dogs that bark all morning and into the evening. Animal control is not swift about coming out and they only give a warning...I guess bring ear plugs.

Ed and Pam are excellent hosts. The house was clean, beautifully decorated and was equipped with everything we needed.Close to restaurants and markets, but remote enough to feel the serenity and beauty of Big Bear.We would definitely stay in this house again.

This Moonridge cabin had everything we were looking for during a short President's Day vacation for some (very warm) skiing and hiking. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, and all the necessary kitchen essentials. We used the spa as well--this is the first Big Bear property advertising a spa out of several we have stayed at over the years that has actually had a functional and clean spa, so we took advantage! Very pleasant stay.

The entire experience was amazing from start to finish. The owner’s niece greeted us and gave us a nice tour of the property. The accessibility was excellent and the cabin is very cozy with all the amenities one might need. Great kitchen space, living room with a fireplace and comfortable bedrooms. I would highly recommend this cabin gor anyone looking to get away to Big Bear.

Ed and Pam were easy to communicate with. The checkin/checkout process was easy. The house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen, bathrooms, and hot tub were immaculate. The kitchen is fully equipped and exceeded our expectations. Ed sends emails and texts and suggests lots of great places to dine and visit. He was also quick to respond when I had questions about his property. Thanks so much for being great hosts and we will be back soon!

We visited this amazing cabin in January for our first trip as a new family of four. We could not have had a better experience! Ed and Pam are the best hosts we’ve ever worked with. The communication before and during the trip was great. The cabin itself is perfect! Super cozy, the perfect size and in the best location. The entrance to the zoo is literally at the end of the street, and the village is about 5 minutes away. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and fireplace, each night too! We woke up to surprise overnight snowfall and had a truly magical time playing in the snow in the front and backyards. Memories we will certainly never forget. We truly hope to return to this cabin in the future!

This cabin is immaculate and it's decorated so beautifully. Check-in and check-out process were both super simple. The cabin is very close to everything you might need during your stay and the owners even include a list of recommendations of local restaurants and other local things to do. Our stay was just 2 of us but this cabin would be great for up to 5 guests. We would highly recommend this cabin and will probably book again in the future.

Tess showed us all the things we needed to see so our transition to this lovely cabin was seamless! We unpacked an went exploring! The cabin was nice and cool considering the temperature was in the 80's. We opened up the windows when we got back from exploring and wow, such a nice breeze cooled down the cabin even more. Saturday we went to the Big Bear Zoo which was right around the corner! We had a great time. In the evening we drove to the other side of the lake so we could get a glimpse of Jackie and Shadow, the resident Bald Eagles of Big Bear! Got to see both of them from a safe distance of course! What a treat. That night we also grilled steaks on the grill in the backyard while my grandson soaked in the hot tub. Sunday morning while it was still cool, I slipped into the hot tub to soak, what a lovely morning. I highly recommend staying at Moonridge Retreat!

Lovely cottage, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We boated, fished, hiked and enjoyed the evenings at The Village, or just relaxing, grilling at the house. So, quite and peaceful, can’t wait to come back.
