Misty Pines cabin rental has been sharing our beautiful surroundings with guests since 2008. Visitors never seem to grow tired of the changing mountain scene before them. Whether it's dancing plumes of morning mist, colorful fall foliage, serene sunsets, or foraging wildlife, the view always creates a sense of peace.
Located in Sterling Run, Cameron County, we are in the heart of the PA Wilds and magnificent elk country. If you are looking for a place to connect with nature and outdoor adventure while still enjoying the comforts of home, Misty Pines is for you! Our local state forests, gamelands, trout waters, lakes and state parks offer plenty of room to roam in Pennsylvania's natural beauty.
Our busiest season is in the fall during the elk rut (mating season). The haunting bugling of the bulls and the rattle of clashing antlers are an exhilarating experience. During this busy season, throngs of visitors flood PA's "elk capital", the nearby town of Benezette, creating crowds ranging from pleasant hustle and bustle to literal gridlock. Our location, 40 minutes away, offers guests a peaceful respite after a day of sightseeing with other tourists. Not to mention that there is a very real possibility of seeing elk anywhere along the scenic ride from Misty Pines to Benezette. Highway or dirt road, it's up to you!
We are Mark and Evelyn Keiter and we live in the home up the road, the only other house visible from the cabin. We look forward to meeting new guests, with some regular visitors becoming friends. But, we know people come here to get away and would never disturb a guests' privacy unnecessarily. Most find it reassuring to know that we are nearby to help with questions about the area, or that one item that was left at home or even assistance with car trouble. We enjoy being able to provide a comfy stay for people as they share in the wonderful place that we call home. We hope to see you soon!
Very beautiful cabin and property.
I have stayed at this location twice. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to stay. Very nice inside and out.
Great location property owner was great to deal with.
The place was clean and very quiet. Enjoyed the stay and all the wildlife we seen. Would definitely stay again
It was a nice place to stay. I would stay there again.
This little cabin was absolutely immaculate when we got there. The owner was excellent at communicating with us. We loved seeing the stars one night and the mist coming over the hills another night.
Awesome
This was a nice inexpensive place to lay our heads as we explored the area. Nothing fancy, but lovely views, clean and ample space for two. Owners were wonderful in providing information about the area and check-in was easy. For future guests, be aware that the kitchen may not be ideal for making complicated/large meals, the drive way was rough but typical for the area, and the listing states a hot tub, but one was not present. All-in-all though, it was a great little place for the money.
The house was clean, cute and served our purposes well. The house was close enough to elk viewing sites that we visited during the day. Beautiful country side.
It was very clean and everything was as I was told it was .No problems. It was great.
This was the cleanest home we ever rented (we rent several times a year). It had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We really liked the decor with the white tail deer theme and there were 4 deer in the yard every evening. We even saw a bull elk 1/2 mile from the house and 2 bald eagles a few miles away. I would highly recommend this rental for a quiet get-a-way.
We loved the cabin! It was clean and comfortable! The view from this cabin is breathtaking! We loved watching the deer play out front. The owners had all the amenities in the cabin and even included firewood for the fire pit. The owner messaged me the day we checked in and gave us different suggestions for places to visit and was very friendly and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be booking our next stay in this cabin as well!
I echo all the wonderful comments by other renters. This place is very special in so many ways: location, accommodations, cleanliness, great price, and a super host! Thank you Evelyn. I will be back again!
Very clean, beautiful landscape, quiet cabin. Loved the views! There were several die and fawns in yard one morning and 4 buck another morning. Hummingbirds always! Looking forward to another visit!
This place was very quiet and quaint. Charming and relaxing with plenty of kitchenware for cooking inside, on the outdoor grill or fire pit. I can’t wait to visit again!
Misty Pines provided a comfortable and relaxing base from which to explore the Sinnemahoning area. The cabin was scrupulously clean, well equipped, beautifully situated, and convenient to everything we wanted to do. We hope to return in the future.
The property was absolutely amazing. Check-in was simple and easy. The place itself is kept up to date and very clean. We stayed for 2 nights for our annual golf trip. Beautiful views in all directions. Seen deer every morning and evening that we stayed. Would highly recommend staying if you are in the area.
We stayed several nights and really enjoyed the wildlife, piece and quite. Deer were a common sighting. The hummingbird was an unexpected one. Evelyn and her mom were very friendly and helpful. We loved the setting away from everything. Kitchen was well stocked. Given the opportunity we would definitely stay again at this location.
Misty Pines is a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable cabin. Breath taking views of the mountains from the deck. We saw hummingbirds at the feeder and other beautiful colored birds. We saw some deer from the deck the first night we were there.
Very clean property. It was exactly what we needed for a weekend away from everything. Very nice stay.
