1. Harpers Ferry Historic District (distance from house - 10 mins): Stroll through the Historic District, with its cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and charming shops. The district is a step back in time, with preserved 19th-century architecture. The Harpers Ferry Train Station is also a noteworthy stop if you love history and old railways. Feeling adventurous Harpers Ferry has a haunted past, and there are ghost tours available in the evenings. You can explore the darker side of the town's history, visiting old churches, graveyards, and other eerie spots

2. Appalachian Trail (distance from house - 10 mins): Runs through Harpers Ferry, and the town is often considered the psychological halfway point for thru-hikers. If you're into hiking or nature walks, you can take a short hike to see breathtaking views of the Potomac River and the surrounding mountains.

4. Tour the Local Wineries & Breweries (distance from house - 20 mins): Home to a number of local wineries and breweries. Stop by Breaux Vineyards or The Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting or craft beer sampling.

5. Catoctin Mountain Park (distance from house - 50 mins): A bit farther out, Catoctin Mountain Park offers great hiking opportunities with views of the surrounding landscape. It's a more rugged park with excellent trails for varying skill levels, including the Catoctin Mountain Trail and Blue Ridge Trail.

We’d love to host you!

The hot tub wouldn’t warm to over 92 degrees. This was the only reason I chose this property. And I called to verify it’s operation be for signing the rental agreement. When we woke in the morning I went to make my wife a cup of coffee and there was none in the house. For 450 a night this is inexcusable.

We had a very cozy stay! On the colder days, we stayed in; the inn was warm, quiet, and comfortable and we enjoyed making use of the grill and kitchen amenities to cook for ourselves. On one nicer day, we made the (very) short drive to Harper's Ferry, and also used the outdoor fire pit to make s'mores. I appreciated the host checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It's helpful to know that the home is not walkable to Harper's Ferry, due to the highway, but otherwise you're very close!

The house was just as it was advertise. We were very close to Harper’s Ferry on a very quiet street. Just wished there was more than one kitchen towel and that the propane for the bar-b-cue wasn’t empty. But Walmart wasn’t too far away to buy more.

Easy access to walk to locations and the town. Minutes to Harper's Ferry National Park. Fenced in yard for dogs was a plus. Walking trail to town seconds away. Hot tub was welcomed after hours of hiking/walking. Cool property.

It was a very memorable stay in a 1830’s tavern turned guesthouse. Everything was very clean. It was nice to see the history preserved, with modern touches. The kitchen was fully stocked, although we didn’t really use it much. Cupboards and drawers contained coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, oils, spices, etc. Close enough to Harper’s Ferry to walk to the sights, far enough to have a sense of privacy.

Location is great and staying in an1800 tavern has appeal. The pans were dirty, greasy and the Teflon well beyond safe use. In fact, I bought a skillet and left it for the next guests. The shower curtain bottoms were dirty and moldy. These are easy fixes. The downstair’s bedroom mattress might be original to the tavern.
