Need more kid/baby stuff No problem! We have relationships with local equipment rental moms at very reasonable prices - like Uber for baby gear!
AND FOR OLDER KIDS AND THE YOUNG AT HEART: a play space made to entertain the heck out of the most discriminating teens. Let them play all day on the air hockey table and standing arcade games, and stream movies on a giant 65” Ultra 4K HD TV. This smart-TV has a built-in Roku system that allows you to log into your own Netflix and other streaming accounts.
On the tech front, please note that rural internet is a thing! We are fortunate to have decent reception from a T-Mobile home internet system, but internet access can be spotty at times and multiple users or upload-heavy (outgoing) content is more difficult. So that means no Zoom meetings while on vacay, folks!
A newly-installed EV charge port is available for charing your electric car - Nema TT-30P outlet - 30 Amp, 125-Volt.
-Please review the lease agreement which becomes binding at booking under “House Rules”.
-This cabin is our family's personal vacation home. Due to our children's severe allergies, pets are not allowed. Thank you for respecting their health and safety, and keeping our little ones out of the hospital!
-Due to insurance liability, we are unable to rent to anyone under 25 years old. There must be someone at least 25 years old present in order to rent our home, and photo ID will be required prior to check-in. New users to the Airbnb platform will be greeted in person at check-in to verify identity and IDs.
-No parties allowed! Parties are strictly banned across the entire Airbnb platform. Also, we are in a quiet residential community. Neighbors will not hesitate to report excessive noise to the police and to us. Immediate eviction with *no refund* will result if there is a party on the property.
-T-Mobile has the best reception in the cabin. Verizon gets only a little, and is best outdoors. AT&T is somewhere in the middle. Please plan accordingly.
-Please note that the fireplace is equipped with an electric insert that will not burn wood. We have also just installed a gorgeous new forest firepit outside! Please feel free to burn any sticks found on the forest floor (there are lots!), or firewood can be purchased down the road at nearby Food Lion Market. Please keep fires small and contained only within the metal fire ring.
-Bears live on the land and are frequent visitors. They are awfully cute, but please don't approach. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone, and never get between a mama bear and her cubs! They are clever and know how to open house and car doors, even the hot tub cover. Lock all doors/covers, and don't leave any food in your car, or you may encounter a furry surprise!
-Nature abounds in the forest! Wooded areas are home to critters such as but not limited to bears, deer, squirrels, rodents, spiders, ants, and insects. We are contracted with a pest control company with regularly scheduled treatments... but alas, Mother Nature reigns, and bugs and critters thrive out here. Please understand the possibility of seeing critters in and around the home, and that their presence does not entitle the guest to a refund.
-For guests arriving in winter, early spring or late fall, please be mindful of the weather. Our privately maintained road is about a half-mile of gentle, curving gravel with a few up and down spots. A 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle is recommended in winter weather.
-No smoking in the house. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and properly dispose of waste. Take care to ensure embers are not left to smolder in forest leaf pilings or other flammable surfaces.
-Free WiFi is included. Do not unplug or alter the router or modem or any electronic devices in any way. Before checking out please remember to log out of streaming services if you used them with your account (Netflix, Disney, etc.). Please note spotty wifi in the Listing Description above.
-Maximum capacity is strictly limited to 8 folks, including children, at all times. The cabin is on a septic system (like much of the local area), so exceeding capacity would mean an overloaded septic system, which means open sewage issues which... ew. Nobody wants that.
-Guests routinely comment on the "sparkling" cleanliness achieved by our very hardworking cleaning team. Everyone is human, though, so please let us know if anything is amiss immediately upon check-in.
-Before checking out we ask guests to lock the hot tub, leave beds messy, place trash in garbage bins in the bear-proof enclosure, put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it, and lock the doors when leaving.
-To protect your vacation investment, we encourage you to purchase travel insurance. No refunds will be given due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
-Security devices on premises: Ring Doorbell cam at front door, Ring Floodlight cam facing driveway and parking area, NoiseAware audio noise monitors indoors and outdoors
A wonderful location to celebrate with our kids and grandkids! The amenities were outstanding for all ages. Fire pit, hot tub, long driveway to explore nature, arcade games, the playroom, books and board games!! Outstanding!!
My two sons and I had a great stay. Close to Asheville and an incredible place to come home to and relax after a day of river rafting. Highly recommend.
Nestled in the heart of nature's tranquil embrace, this cabin on VRBO provided an extraordinary retreat that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an atmosphere of serenity and beauty that instantly whisked us away from the chaos of everyday life. The cabin itself was a haven of comfort and charm, boasting a rustic yet elegant design that perfectly complemented its surroundings. Every detail was meticulously thought out, from the cozy fireplace to the spacious and well-appointed bedrooms that ensured a restful night's sleep. The amenities provided were second to none. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare delicious meals with ease, and the outdoor hot tub was a perfect setting under the stars. We appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the selection of board games and books, which provided entertainment during cozy evenings spent indoors. Our stay at this VRBO cabin was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Amazing property, peaceful and gorgeous. My friends and I have already agreed we need to book this place again the future because it was such the perfect spot for a little getaway. Easy drive to Asheville but far enough removed to be able to enjoy the peaceful quiet of nature.
My friend and I have always wanted to visit Asheville so we decided to take our oldest kids (seniors in HS) for spring break. We could not have been happier with this lovely cabin in the mountains! The pictures really don't do justice to the lovely decor and cozy feel of the cabin. During the day we were 20 minutes from Asheville's must-see areas like The Biltmore Estate, downtown, and the River Arts District. We ate at so many great restaurants downtown, but we also loved that there was a Food Lion less than 10 minutes from the cabin and right along the way. We used the hot tub every night and found it so relaxing after walking and biking all day. The views from the house and hot tub made it feel like there was no one around even though it was such a close drive to everything...really, a terrific location! Check in was seamless and even though May told us cell service may not be the best, our phones worked fine (AT&T) and WIFI service was great. May sent a message after a few days to see if we needed anything, which I thought was a genuinely nice, personal touch. Not only did we love our stay at the cabin, we loved the area so much we went on a college tour at UNC Asheville! Thank you, May & family for sharing your lovely home with us!
We absolutely loved our stay. Very clean, comfortable, modern, and beautifully decorated. Perfect for our family and friends. Our two young boys were entertained with the playroom and games. Location is perfect - in a quiet rural area but still very close to Asheville. May is very responsive and super nice. Once we were logged into WiFi our internet service was fine! We will definitely be back!
Pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful this cabin is. There was a lot of attention to detail and decor, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location was fantastic as well - an easy drive to Downtown yet set apart in a peaceful rural setting. The kids loved the games, horses next door, and the fire pit outside. Our family had a great time and can’t wait to come back.
