Met our needs for location. Could use more kitchen supplies example strainer for noodles as this is an easy meal to prepare. The back room would not warm up with door shut and shaking and rumbling all night long from heater hooked on hitch of house. Very hard sleeping but not sure in summer if this would be the same with air. Overall could lower price for late fall as there were vacancy all over mackinaw city for next time!!
Cabin was very clean with a great location. Would definitely stay there agai
Two of my kids (12 & 16) and I stayed here for the Labor Day bridge walk. The cabin itself is pretty new, and was well cleaned. It has useful kitchen appliances, including a full size gas range, and also basic dishes/cookware. But it does not have two bedrooms, it has one bedroom with a full size bed and a bunk bed in the area leading to the bedroom. It also has a futon in the living area. The primary reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's located in front of a motel that has seen better days. This motel is apparently the owner of the cabin, it's not owned by a private owner. This fact isn't accurately described in the listing. It's not a deal breaker, though. The beach is okay, but isn't regularly cleaned, so there were remnants left behind from previous parties, like half burned firewood, crushed beer cans and some broken glass. There's a weather beaten children's play structure with a broken plastic slide that's home to dozens of spiders and is so worn out it needs to be converted into firewood anyway. I would stay here again. We don't spend all of our time at the cabin, we go off for day trips in the area. However, if you're planning on spending a week playing and relaxing on the beach, there are better options, especially at this price point.
Our overall impression of cabin #4 was very positive. Loved the beachfront view, decor and amenities, although privacy was less than expected being behind and next to some older properties. It wasn't made clear on the website that check-in was at the Waterfront Inn but friendly locals and a message from our host helped in the end. The view of the Mackinaw Bridge was to our left and slightly obstructed. One issue was no pocket door to the bunkroom (between living area and bedroom) making it difficult to keep it quiet enough for the kids early bedtime. The large covered deck was greatly appreciated although a broom/dustpan or footbath pan would have helped with tracking in sand.
This cabin is located on the property of a very sketchy rundown motel. Located in front on the beach is an old play set. We didn't have a BBQ grill and the wifi didn't work. No information on the indoor pool or water park. The bathroom had no hooks or towel racks. Really there is only one bedroom the 2nd bedroom was the hall way from the kitchen/living area to the bedroom. The cabin was overall clean, but I wouldn't recommend staying, especially at the price point.
We had an amazing time in the cabin. It was much larger than we expected. There was plenty of room for our family of 4. The beds were all very firm. Staying in cabin #4 was great, as it was separated from the other cabins and had more space. The location, right on the beach with the view of the bridge and the islands, was fantastic. It is walking distance on the beach to the Star Line ferry port. This is not the 'most stocked' location we have stayed at. If you plan to cook, bring your own oils, spices, etc. There are plenty of pans and cookware. We took advantage of the water park and wished we were there a bit longer to enjoy it more.
