We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely consider staying here again should we take another trip to the area. Highly recommend.
Great cabin. Loved the style and the kids enjoyed the beach. Just a minute away from Mackinac city too.
We enjoyed staying at the cabin again. Had a chance to enjoy the lake and beach front. Jodi was very responsive to any questions we had. We’ll be back next year.
Very good. A bit unclean though!
The cabin was clean, no spiders inside. Super super hot water. We walked down the beach to the ferry. I didn’t realize until I seen the recent reviews that the cabin is behind an old motel. The view is still awesome, but I wish the old swing set could be removed. People walking by the bedroom window late at night. Still enjoyed our stay.
I'll explan the rankings. 1. indoor cleanliness=5. Outdoor (porch)= 1--I have never seen so many spiders in my entire life, I actually tried to get them off off things and literally within 1-2 hours later they were coming back. I know spiders are more a sign of another food source, which, when outside, would mean mosquitoes, and truly we did not see any mosquitoes while we were there-- but-- it might have been nice if someone had swept them off the day before, the amount of spiders/ webs present would have taken days at least to develop. (we could tell from the temperature of the inside that it had not been opened up in at least a few days too) The cabin for us cooled off just by opening front/ rear windows otherwise the air conditioning sort of barely cooled the unit. (but our temperatures weren't that high either so we just had to figure out to open the windows) 2. amenities themselves were definitely new; couldn't tell if any of the dishes had even been used. I would have wished for a dish cloth (not just towel), but we made do-- and would have wished for some kind of hooks or towel racks in the bathroom-- I think because it was so new they had not put up any hooks anywhere except next to the entrance, but with beach towels (and no way were we putting them on the porch for obvious reasons! ) and then the bath towels it was a bit of a challenge. 3. This place had the hottest water-- it was a good thing bordering on dangerous.
Unit wasn’t ready at the time of our appointment. Beach has geese poop everywhere and run down/broken playscape. Communication with property manager was hit and miss.
when we got to the cabin, it hadn't been cleaned, even though the contact we had told us it would be ready early. cleaning lady was amazing and didn't skip out on anything, even though we were waiting outside. however, we never once heard back from the manager to offer an apology or small refund for our inconvenience. the cabin was nice, the pictures don't show what the location truly is, as it is in the middle of a bunch of run down motels. great location, within walking distance of star line ferry. however, not the private beach that was stated. nice stay, great views, just not worth the pricetag with fees and nightly totals.
The good… The cabin is cute and is in good shape. The space worked well for our family of 3. Full kitchen with utensils, dishes and coffee maker. There were coffee filters but no coffee as it states in the description. Good amount of towels and toiletries. The cabin has a great view of the beach and there were fireworks on Friday. The cabin is located in a walkable area where you can easily access the dock/ferry or the nearby brewery. The not so good… The location is very sketchy. The Waterfront Inn is where the cabin is located. It is a motel and very run down. The cabins sit behind the motel on the beach. Great beach view and access but there are lots of people out late running around right outside the cabin. The cabin is in desperate need of pest control. The porch appears to never have been cleaned as it is covered in spider webs. Inside it was like the movie arachnophobia- many, many spiders. Simple pest control would go a long way here. The description also mentions water park access and a pool. No idea where these are. Also the internet was non-existent. All and all, we’d stay again but would come armed with pest spray.
The location on the water was nice, but the beach was very dirty, the chairs and equipment in various states of falling apart. The cabin itself was mostly clean with a few significant exceptions- spider webs in light fixtures. The linens here were stained, thin and totally unacceptable at this price point.
Location was behind several run-down, old motels. It was confusing--vrbo ad misleading. Cabin was nice, but overpriced. If any of the amenities truly were available there was no info about how to access--only communication from host was door code. Very disappointed in money spent--felt deceived/scammed.
The actual cabin is small but worked well for us. Unfortunately, the cabin was very poorly stocked and did not have many of the amenities that were listed in the VRBO write up. The beach was dirty with a ancient metal swing set right in front of the cabin. The buildings surrounding the cabins were very run down.
