Stayed Nov 26, 2025It was a pleasure to see the inside of a house we’ve long admired and to feel the history of five generations of ownership. There is not a better view available on Mt Nebo, one of my favorite places on Earth. The house though 120 years old was warm and comfy once we got the heaters going. Deborah was quick to respond to questions and made us feel very welcome!

Stayed Sep 23, 2025Thoroughly enjoyed staying in this 120 year old house. I even caught a clear sunrise and sunset the 2 days I was there, beautiful. The owner was onsite and it was a pleasure speaking to her when I checked in, but honestly did not see her after that (unless I needed something).

Stayed Sep 1, 2025View is great but house is a dump. Think hoarder type of stuff everywhere. Shower is like bathing in a cow trough. Place is about to fall down in places and steps are really dangerous. Doors don’t work. Etc.

Stayed Jun 24, 2025When I pulled up and saw the outside, screened in area, I was a little concerned.. the area could definitely use paint and new cushions, but the rest of the house is absolutely adorable and a great condition for being 120 years old! Even if it was adorable in that front area, I wouldn’t hang out there, because of the view from the back! It is stunning, everywhere you look! You can see a crystal clear view of the east and the south… I was on a journey fasting, praying, and worshipping the Lord and I can’t think of a better spot I could’ve gone close to home. The owner was staying next-door and was so helpful during a storm, making sure I had flashlights and anything else I may need…… But on the final day is where I was blown away by her kindness! She had gone to town and asked if I needed anything. She ended up driving 25 miles to get me a Tropical smoothie. Deborah deserves 1000 stars as a host! I didn’t use anything, but she had everything you could need (besides food) in the house.. literally everything (even carrots for the deer)! I absolutely recommend staying at Meek’s cabin! My time with The Lord was life-changing and the host is precious!

Stayed May 16, 2025Some places don’t just host you—they whisper to you. This old house is one of those places. The host, kind and welcoming, speaks with the ease of an old friend—one who understands the value of a good story and a longer pause between sentences. She might not of realized I love to chat as much as she did!The house itself… well, it’s no stranger to time. Recent storms have not been kind, as the wind pushed in a few screens. While we were there, it faced some damage from a terrible storm as well. Trees down in the park, and towards town. No show stopper for us by any means! Yet this magnificent old house! The floors lean with age, the corners breathe a little dust, and the screen doors sag from storms past. But there's a beauty in that. A truth. It feels like stepping inside a memory you forgot you had. There’s no illusion of modern perfection here.Only the quiet honesty of a home that’s stood through years of laughter, loss, weather, and wear. The walls don’t pretend—they remember. If there’s anything I could wish for, it’s a larger bed. The full is small, and its springs sing their age when you sit... But that sound… that creak and cry…It transported me.Back to childhood nights at my grandmother’s house. Back to summer air through open windows and quilts that smelled like time.Back to a world slower, softer, and somehow more real. This house isn’t just a stay—it’s a story. And if you let it, it’ll wrap you in its worn arms and whisper, “You’ve been here before.”

Stayed Nov 25, 2024Awesome Cabin full of fun. We love hanging out in the Den/Living Room when no out hiking. The sunrise is beautiful from the arm chair, or you can walk 100 feet to Sunrise Point. Trail head is right there if you like to hike. Place is incredibly comfortable given how old the cabin is. We plan on coming back regularly. It is perfect for what we were looking for. And great owner.

Stayed Nov 8, 2024Rented the house to host a brunch for my daughter that was turning 18. The outside space was going to be perfect, however the wind and fog did not allow that to happen. But we moved it to the back porch area and it worked perfectly.

Stayed Oct 18, 2024We certainly enjoyed staying at the Meeks house on sunset point. There were breathtaking views of the morning sun. This was a unique experience, staying in this time capsule,(1905),where history and comfort come together. We would not hesitate to stay at the Meek’s house again.
