Stayed May 15, 2026Our family had a wonderful 3-night stay at The Cabin. It is beautifully appointed, features everything you need to cook or relax with your book. We had more than enough indoor and outdoor space (deck & front porch) to read, play board games, do puzzles and eat meals together.

Stayed Apr 22, 2026Wonderful place to stay! Close enough to town and all of the activities that we wanted to do but out of town enough to feel secluded, quiet and peaceful. And watching the goats from the back deck every morning and afternoon was an extra special treat.

Stayed Jun 6, 2025My husband and I needed a getaway to relax and relieve stress. This cabin was perfect for that! First of all, the proximity to The Goat Conspiracy sanctuary (where we also scheduled a tour and loved it!) was one of the main reasons we wanted to stay there. (The sanctuary is separate from the cabin, so if you want to do this, go to The Goat Conspiracy's website to schedule the tour in advance.) When we first arrived, we were impressed by the cabin's surroundings, rolling meadow and a pond with a picnic table. Then when we walked in, wow, the cabin is even more impressive than the photos. It was immaculate; the cleanest rental we've ever seen. The property managers thought of every detail for a comfortable stay too. And the primary suite was particularly impressive, totally separate from the rest of the cabin with high ceilings, enormous shower with dual showerheads and a jacuzzi tub. We spent much of our time on either the front porch or on the back deck. This cabin is immersed in nature! We could see the goats and chickens in their neighboring pastures, but also saw dozens of blue herons fly overhead one at a time over the weekend. There is a flight path you can see from the back and one you can see from the front...we called it heron highway. Frogs croaked in the pond, we got to see newly hatched killdeer and we watched groups of swallows practice maneuvers like jet squads doing aerobatics. We even got to see a cocoon of praying mantis babies hatch. So grateful!

Stayed Apr 25, 2025The house worked perfectly for 2 adults and 4 teens competing in fishing tournaments at Lake Monroe. Teens loved the pond. Plenty of land for the trucks and boats. House was very clean and well stocked and everything was as advertised. House has a unique layout. Hosts were very responsive. We will definitely book again for another tournament.

Stayed Feb 20, 2025We enjoyed our quick winter visit at this updated cabin. We were able to disconnect from the world and take some time for ourselves in nature. It was extremely cold while we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would have liked but were able to read our books and cozy up by the easy to operate gas fireplace. This sustainable home had all we needed with a special welcoming touch at our arrival which was so kind! Given the extreme temps the house was very cold upon arrival and it took almost 12 hours to get up to 65 degrees and the unique floor plan did seem to limit airflow from the front to the back of the house . I imagine the lovely vaulted ceilings and ample fans would help distribute air in the summer heat.A few well placed night lights would be a nice touch for families traveling with young children given the darkness of the house at night.Check in and out was super easy and we would stay here again- but likely in spring when we could open windows and not rely on the central HVAC system. A lovely home on a lovely farm!

Stayed Dec 27, 2024The house was beautiful must not be rented out often as it was infested with flies that were mainly trapped by traps in the windows but that didn’t stop the dead flies from falling on the floor and within the beds throughout our stay. The property is also listed as having a hot tub within the VRBO website one filtering for properties that have hot tubs. The house did not have hot tub.

Stayed Nov 26, 2024Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin had more than enough space for our family. Great location, we really enjoyed watching the goats from our windows. We did tour the goat sanctuary next door, highly recommend to anyone who loves animals. Our kids loved playing all the games in the cabin. The fireplace made it nice and cozy. Also, that master suite is incredible. Would definitely stay in this cabin again!

Stayed Oct 20, 2024It was truly like home away from home but without all of our daily responsibilities. Absolutely the most perfect distance to get to Nashville for shopping, Brown County State Park for hiking and the other scenic drives that we wanted to do to take in the fall colors.
