***PETS***
We are opening up our house to guests that travel with dogs only. Your dogs MUST be HOUSE TRAINED. We understand your fur babies are family, so we want to accommodate for those guests as well.
*Our Pet Fee is $200 per Dog with a maximum of 2 dogs.*
:::Furniture:::
We kindly ask guests bring their own personal dog beds. We absolutely do not allow dogs to be on any of the sofas or on any of the beds. If we see dog hair or urine on the sofas and beds, there will be an additional cleaning fee for extra deep cleaning and laundering of $200. Also, if we see evidence or smell urine on any of the rugs, there will also be an additional fee if we need to replace any of them or launder them accordingly. It is of utmost importance to us to maintain a high level of cleanliness for all guests, including those who may be allergic.
Also, we prefer you do not leave the house with your dog unattended loose inside the house alone. If you plan to leave the house without your dog, please bring a cage or dog fence so that your dog is not loose in the house while you are out, to avoid any accidents.
:::Potty:::
Pets must go to the bathroom OUTSIDE ONLY. We also kindly want to remind all guests to please remove any pet debris (pet waste) from the yard. If we have to remove any pet debris (pet waste) from the yard, that will result in an additional cleaning fee of $75. Please put it in a bag and place the bag in any of the three outdoor trash bins we have provided.
We need to have strict rules in place for dogs to maintain the cleanliness of our cabin. We hope you understand. Our goal and hope is that we will not have to charge our guests any additional cleaning fees unless it is absolutely necessary to do so. We want to welcome our guests and their dogs to enjoy and have a great time!
:::Safety for Your Dog:::
Please keep in mind, the cabin is on 48 acres of mountainous land. We do not have a safety fence specific for dogs. We have open fences to distinguish our property line and the pasture land. Always keep an eye on your dog while they go to the bathroom outside.
If you have any questions, please let us know and we will be happy to help!
We are a group of HS friends, who get together every year and hike somewhere. We started doing this when we turned 40 and this was our 25th year. (You do the math). This was a wonderful spot from which to hit the mountains, and the AT. Marshall is a charming town and we highly recommend the Star Diner. The hot tub was a added benefit to soak our weary bones from hiking the mountains. We highly recommend this spot, but note the challenge of the driveway - they are not kidding, go up the first time in the daylight :-).
The only thing I would say about this cabin, is the incline of the driveway needs to be mentioned before booking. We drove over 4 hours to get to the cabin, and we notified 1 hour before that the driveway was a very steep incline that needed 4x4. Other than that, it was great! Hot tub, grill and all other amenities were well taken care of.
Tania's communication was amazing as we prepared for the trip to a new part of the country for us. Upon arrival, our two families confirmed that there was more than enough space for us all to sleep, gather, and find solitude when needed. We really enjoyed our stay in Marshall County - our nights around the fire pit, the day trips to neighboring towns, and rafting the French Broad. After each day, we'd come back to a safe, comfortable home with gorgeous views and the peace and serenity needed for any vacation. I would love to go back soon. Thank you Tania!
Beautiful property tucked away in the mountains. Lots of peace and quiet and beautiful starry skies. Make sure you bring your four-wheel-drive as the driveway is quite steep in places.
We were visiting the area for a family reunion and needed room to spread out for adults, teens and tweens. The cabin was the perfect option after a day spent catching up with far flung relatives. The cabin location is very quiet and relaxing. The decks and windows provided stunning views of the rain storms and low hanging clouds. The decks are perfect for a relaxing read and catching up on social media. The wifi was excellent, to much going on to try the television. The teens/tweens zoomed in on the smores and hot cocoa supplies and enjoyed an evening sitting by the fire pit. Tanya was wonderful and so helpful during our stay, special thanks for bringing the firewood and sticks. A wonderful place to stay after a busy day of reunion and sight seeing. We all highly recommend this cabin.
The cabin was as beautiful as seen in pictures. The instructions for check-in and communication from owners were excellent. Everything we needed was there. I would definately book another stay. Only thing I would suggest is to state in description that a need a 4x4 all wheel vehicle is strongly suggested for driveway.
Cabin was just like the pictures and description. Host was very easy to communicate with and answered emails promptly. My boys loved the s’mores sticks! Beautiful spot in the North Carolina Mountains!
We spent 5 days with our teenage kids here and never got bored once! We had a fire every night and enjoyed complimentary s’mores from the host.
Tania, communicated very well and the house was perfect. Very clean and a lot of room for enjoyment inside. We will be back next year for sure.
