We are also happy to provide a propane BBQ and a fire pit for your summer evening star filled nights:) Please refrain from utilizing the pathway we are building that leads down to the creek, we will be adding creek access to our listing once that pathway is safe to access. Until then, we truly hope you enjoy the sounds of the creek and the peekaboo view!!
The town of Ashford has two very small stores and one gas station that carry just the basics. We recommend you purchase any food/supplies you would like to have during your stay prior to heading up this way.
**Cell phone is limited in the area. Verizon seems to work best**
There is also a couple of restaurants you may want to try...Copper Creek Inn is famous for its BlackBerry pie. You gotta try it! Elbe tavern has juicy burgers and great fries. Elbe junction has the BEST locally made ice cream and pies. Base camp grill has good food as well (pizza, salad, burgers). Scale burger has good milkshakes (cash only) and burgers/fries. Pizza in Elbe is also good.
* RISE AND GRIND *
Located in the Ashford city limits by the Ashford Grocery store, would be a great choice for your morning coffee:) Great prices and yummy too, great friendly owner.
* In the event that there is a power outage due to weather in the mountains, we do not issue refunds.
**All vehicles are required to carry tire chains when traveling inside Mt. Rainier park during the winter season (November 1 - May 1). This requirement applies to all vehicles (including four-wheel-drive), regardless of tire type or weather conditions.

You are on vacation and it is very important to us that you enjoy yourself! Please let us know if there is anything you need, we will accommodate you to the absolute best of our ability:) If you are looking for suggestions on the local area we are more than willing to be there for you! This adorable Little Red Cabin nestled in the foothills of Mt. Rainier is also adjacent to Big Creek and it is located inside the small community of Paradise Estates. The cabin faces beautiful Osborn Mountain with a couple of vacation rentals on both sides. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. A variety of birds, trees, deer, and elk are often seen here.
The small community lake is a short walk away and our guests are very welcome to go for a swim:) Please adhere to all community rules (located in the house manual) so that all of our guests may continue to enjoy this fun amenity! What a great way to cool off after a day of hiking!
If you are looking for a hike outside of the park...Big Creek campground is on Skate Creek Rd and it has a trail head that leads up into Osborn mountain (challenging hike-dogs allowed).
****FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HEADED TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR THE DAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN EARLY START, OR YOU MAY FACE HEAVY DELAYS.*** Most have the same game plan as you:)
You'll also have an easier time finding a parking spot at viewpoints, trailheads, and visitor centers. Parking lots tend to fill up at Paradise by 11:00 AM. The busiest time at the entrance stations is typically from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Entire cabin is available. Easy access from Osborn road. We hope you enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature as much as we do.
After a long day of exploring all that the gorgeous mountain has to offer, follow the spiral staircase to the loft above where a comfy Ikea queen bed (which is a bit smaller than a regular queen bed but larger than a full size bed) awaits you for a restful nights sleep!!
Plenty of enjoyment for a romantic getaway, a small family, or some good friends that don't mind sleeping on the pull out queen sized sleeper sofa located in the living room;-)
PETS: I'm so sorry, we love our lil pups and we tried for quite a while to allow pets in the cabin, but we have have had to change our Pet Policy due to the amount of extra work it was causing our (amazing) cleaner, too much pet hair was being left behind by our previous guests and it was just causing so much work for her to get everything absolutely spic and span and ready for our next guests. You are welcome to contact me to request an exception (we absolutely understand how great it is to bring fur babies along and were sad to not be able to continue to allow them)
Ashford lacks public transportation, you will definitely need your own car, bike or skates, hover board, broom, or camel:-) The park entrance is 5 miles from your cabin. There are plenty of trail heads within the area as well! Nisqually River is close by for enjoying those river walks too.
The community has a small lake where you may see a family of ducks and geese and it's a great place for a quick swim to cool off in the summer
Cell phone is limited in the area, Verizon seems to works the best.
***If you plan on going to the mountain, we suggest leaving in the morning, or else you could face long delays getting in.****
Everything was just perfect for my birthday getaway.
This is a perfect place to stay to enjoy the beautiful Mt. Rainier National Park! The cabin is close to the park entrance so it’s very convenient. It has everything you need and Billie is quick to respond if you have any questions. She is awesome! I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed my stay here.
The location was great for activities in the park and also just to relax and getaway from it all. The house itself had everything i needed... making full use of the wood burning stove. Would definitely stay here again.
It was great
This cozy cabin was perfect for a night near Mt Rainier. The patio, fire pit area, and pebble beach by the creek were so inviting for relaxation that I wish I had booked it for two nights. The only negative was that there was no coffee at all. I used to always bring my own whenever I rented a place, but over the years have been pleasantly surprised that there is always something to make coffee when I stay at this kind of place. So of course the one time I didn't bring anything... Thankfully there is a coffee shop a 15 min drive away! Otherwise everything was perfect - clean, comfortable, everything you need to make a simple meal.
Loved the cabin and the location. It is right by mt. rainier and has a little lake to swim in!
Small/difficult bedroom. Slept on pullout. Just not right for 70+ folks. A Keurig would be nice. Peaceful setting though.
The cabin was in a nice and quiet location, away from the main road. It was clean and tidy with plenty of cooking amenities provided. The view of the mountains from the living room was a big plus!
Amazing place to get away for the weekend, very responsive owner. Fireplace was great, stream out back provided a nice ambient noise. Clean and had everything you needed.
East to work with!
Loved it!
My husband and I, stayed at this cute cabin for our honeymoon, and we had a great time. It was super cozy and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. We are already missing and wishing we had stayed for longer. Billie was an awesome host too!! Highly recommend it.
Small, but was laid out well and clean. We'd stay here again!
Great location to get to Mt Rainier. Cozy cabin perfect for our short stay. Wish we could have enjoyed it for a few days but we had to keep moving on this trip. Thank you!
We were unable to stay in this cute cabin due to wildfire activity blocking access, but Billie could not have been a more amazing host and communicator! We hope to return soon and see the stars from this cozy cabin! ✨
We very much enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. Nothing fancy, but it had all we needed. After a long hike, we enjoyed the shaded deck listening to the sounds of the stream nearby and the variety of birds.
This cabin was very close to Mt Ranier and easy to find. Quit and in a nice community. Good for a short stay to see the National Park.
Very nice cabin in a lovely and peaceful setting.
Lovely little cabin. It had everything we needed. Looking forward to coming back in the winter and seeing how beautiful the neighborhood is with snow.
This is a great little cabin! It was clean and cozy. We had a great stay. Appreciated the necessities in the kitchen, including a strainer, so we could enjoy the local berries.
Nice place to stay after hiking all day
We agree with all the previous comments. This is a really charming cabin in a peaceful setting. It’s clean, has lots of amenities, and everything works. The host, Billie, was always responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.
We loved our time at the cabin and had a fire every night. Would highly recommend!
Lovely location and within a 10 minute drive to Mount Rainer entrance. Billie was sooner friendly, helpful and you can tell she really cares about your experience! Would 100% stay there again!!
BIllie let us reschedule our stay due to opening day of kids baseball at the last minute. Very gracious of her. Nice clean peaceful cabin near the end of a quiet road. Thank you again Billie.
