The town of Ashford has two very small stores and one gas station that carry just the basics. We recommend you purchase any food/supplies you would like to have during your stay prior to heading up this way.
**Cell phone is limited in the area. Verizon seems to work best**
There is also a couple of restaurants you may want to try...Copper Creek Inn is famous for its BlackBerry pie. You gotta try it! Elbe tavern has juicy burgers and great fries. Elbe junction has the BEST locally made ice cream and pies. Base camp grill has good food as well (pizza, salad, burgers). Scale burger has good milkshakes (cash only) and burgers/fries. Pizza in Elbe is also good.

This adorable Little Cabin on Big Creek is located inside the small community of Paradise Estates. The cabin faces beautiful Osborn Mountain with a couple of vacation rentals on both sides. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. A variety of birds, trees, deer, and elk are often seen here.
The small community lake is a short walk away and our guests are very welcome to go for a swim:) Please adhere to all community rules (located in the house manual) so that all of our guests may continue to enjoy this fun amenity! What a great way to cool off after a day of hiking!
If you are looking for a hike outside of the park...Big creek campground is on Skate Creek Rd and it has a trail head that leads up into Osborn mountain (challenging hike-dogs allowed).
****FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HEADED TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR THE DAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN EARLY START, OR YOU MAY FACE HEAVY DELAYS.*** Most have the same game plan as you:)
You'll also have an easier time finding a parking spot at viewpoints, trailheads, and visitor centers. Parking lots tend to fill up at Paradise by 11:00 AM. The busiest time at the entrance stations is typically from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Entire cabin is available. Easy access from Osborn road. We hope you enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature as much as we do.
We hope you enjoy the rustic feel and cozy comfort of this 320 square ft tiny cabin
Plenty of enjoyment for a romantic getaway, a couple with a small child, or a good friend that doesn't mind sleeping on the couch:) We do allow up to four guests to stay in our cozy Little cabin, but please be aware four is a very tight fit! The sofa bed is very small!
Ashford lacks public transportation, you will definitely need your own car, bike or skates, hover board, broom, or camel:) The park entrance is 5 miles from your cabin. Plenty of trail heads within the area as well, all or most trails are worth your time. Nisqually River is close by for enjoying those river walks too.
The community has a small lake where you may see a family of ducks and geese.
Cell phone is limited in the area, Verizon works the best.
***If you plan on going to the mountain, we suggest leaving in the morning, or else you could face long delays getting in.****
Great lil cabin with every amenity you could ask for! So quiet & quaint, exactly what we were looking for!
The tiny cabin has basic necessities for kitchen, BBQ, and relaxing. We don’t usually need a lot for accommodations since we focus on sightseeing or enjoying surrounding nature and we only need a place to sleep and can prepare quick meal. This place is a perfect. I liked tiny kitchen and living room. One thing I can suggest the owner is hanging a pocket or sack at the headboard for the bed. My husband and I wear eye glasses. The bedroom is just a big enough to have bed and dresser; there’s no room for side tables. We put our eyeglasses on top of headboard before going to sleep. I knew my husband would drop his glasses at the bottom of the bed and there he did when he woke up and tried to reach them..(hahaha). And, the only thing we can warn the future guest is that don’t depend on Google map or IPhone map to get there. The owner send you the direction from nearby hwy. please follow that. Otherwise you may end up being on a wrong street, which we did.. We’d love to go back there again with our dog. The next time we will be with our kid, too.
Property was just as described. It was the perfect location to visit Mt Ranier from.
Billie is amazing! This little cabin was perfect for me and my son. It has such a cozy feel. The creek was a perfect coffee spot. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend! Billie checked in on us right away and within minutes we were messaging like we were long lost friends. Thank you, Billie!
Beautiful property!
Excelente spot to get away for a night or two and reset for the work week.
Just what we needed for a short stay. We loved the property. The creek access was so fun. Only down part was the bed was uncomfortable and linens had a strong scent which we're allergic too. I would recommend still.
Clean property, thoughtful touches and cut decor in the kitchen. I thought it felt smaller than it looks in the pictures, but for just 2 of us, who were really there to hike Mt Rainier all day, it was perfect. Also enjoyed the Comfy hammock and darling stream in the back.
This place was a perfect location for my husband and I to spend the night prior to camping in the National park! The property was quiet and comfortable, and had everything we needed for the evening. It would be a tight fit for more than two people, but it worked well for the two of us. Billie was super communicative and gave lots of information about the surrounding area. Being 5 minutes from the National park entrance was a huge plus!
This was our third stay at the cabin. We keep coming back because it is so well taken care of, very well stocked, and perfectly situated on an amazing property, oh, and the owner is just plain awesome!
We were in town for the Mt. Rainier half marathon and enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin. It was everything we were hoping for and the hosts made it super easy. We hope to be back!
Owner was a great host! Celebrating my birthday, the property was surprisingly decorated on our arrival! So thoughtful. Really loved the backyard too; porch, campfire, creek, it was all so perfect and so close to Mt Rainer!
I stayed here with my sister and a friend because they were visiting from the Midwest and we wanted to explore Rainier National Park. It’s a short distance from the park and was perfect for what we needed. It’s a cozy cabin and there’s endless trails nearby. The host, Billie, does a great job being available and fielding any questions if you are not familiar with the area.
