Stayed Feb 5, 2026Upon arrival we found the property to be very charming in an eclectic way. It has views that are rare and beautiful with abundant wildlife all around. It was clean and stocked very well. There is no need to bring reading material as Andy has the most extensive library you will ever see...something for everyone. Overall a good experience and worth doing again.

Stayed Sep 12, 2025Excellent all the way around. If you're looking for peace and quiet, beautiful mountain vistas and access to great hiking options this is the place for you.Yes, the cabin is rustic but it's well maintained and very comfortable. It's a step back in time but enough modern conveniences to bring you to the present.Andy was a great host. Just the kind of guy you'd expect to find in Montana - helpful if needed but not intrusive.Highly recommend the Lazy Bean!

Stayed Feb 13, 2025This cabin was a perfect place for us to stay while snowmobiling in Seeley Lake. The price and location made the drive into Seeley worth it. The owner was great, he even plowed the driveway during our stay. The property does have a cooking stove (not just the antique stove). Overall, would stay again and have no complaints.

Stayed Jan 1, 2025This was our third winter stay at the Lazy Bean (and one summer stay in the smaller house) and we couldn't be happier with the place and with the hospitality of our host. The Bean captures that perfect blend of being in the woods, while offering the comforts of a warm, cozy and very comfortable home. The woodshed is fully stocked, the kitchen well-equipped, and plenty of comfortable spots to curl up with a good book, or just gaze at the landscape. We cook, read, enjoy walks in the area and completely relax. We know that Andy is always just a call away, but we've never had any issues so we just look forward to a brief visit while we're on the property. We'll be back again, and again, and again.

Stayed Oct 25, 2024The setting is beautiful and it is what makes staying at this cabin worth it. The cabin itself is rustic, quirky, and cluttered. We found the cabin to be clean enough except for the ceiling fan which was so covered in dust you would not want to turn it on. There are a few things that would make a stay at the cabin better. We woke every morning to mouse poop on the kitchen counters and in our shoes. There was a cheap and useless mouse trap in the kitchen. Better mouse traps would be a really helpful. The cooking pots are very low grade with degraded inside finishes. I hated cooking in them. The rest of the imperfections didn't bother us as we expected a rustic feel.

Stayed Sep 28, 2024Gorgeous view of the meadow and mountains. We enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys and horses grazing every day. The setting was perfect for relaxing and as headquarters for our daily trips to the numerous mountain roads. The owner Andy, is delightful to meet and was so informative about the area, his tour of the ranch was fun and provided a chance to see the area up close. Andy had so much information on things to see or do in the area. PROS: The quiet peaceful location, the friendliness of the owner, Andy and his willingness to make our stay fun. Also meeting his mom, Sassy was a delight. The last day of our stay a major wind storm came through taking out the electricity and setting fire across the meadow on the ranch lands. Thankfully it was brought under control with the rain that came with the storm. Andys response for a few items we needed to get through the night was appreciated. CONS: The cabin could use a really deep clean, especially the windows. A few furniture replacement items in seating, even new cushions on the rockers, and the deck seating if updated would make the spectacular views more enjoyable. Lanterns, flashlights, candles and matches should be a stable in the cabin. There is a mouse problem so if you are squeamish about that it is something to consider, It is a mountain cabin so that is normal. All in all, we would definitely return to the Lazy Bean.

Stayed Aug 17, 2024We absolutely love The Lazy Bean! It’s nestled perfectly in the heart of nature. The cabin offers an unforgettable retreat that perfectly blends comfort with the raw beauty of the wilderness. From the moment you arrive, the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains will captivate your senses. Each sunrise and sunset paints the sky in vibrant hues, offering a serene backdrop that seems straight out of a postcard. The cabin is perched in an idyllic location, surrounded by towering trees and lush greenery, ensuring unparalleled privacy. It's a haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The peaceful surroundings are only enhanced by the occasional visits from local wildlife. We were lucky enough to spot deer grazing nearby, along with Sandhill Cranes, and wild turkeys every morning and evening. But what truly sets this place apart is the host. Andy’s attention to detail and genuine care for his guests is evident in every aspect of the cabin. He provided thoughtful recommendations for local hikes and attractions, making our stay even more special. Andy’s hospitality made us feel right at home from the very beginning. We have been twice already, and we’re already looking forward to returning for a third time!

Stayed Aug 4, 2024Absolutely was a perfect cabin in the best location for our Montana getaway! We like our quiet and seclusion and it was a wonderful spot to do so! Andy was so kind and informative with great hiking spots, things to do, and best places to grab some grub! We sat every night on the balcony after long days of hiking nearby and watched the sunset as the “locals” (deer) wandered through the property! Serene, peaceful, and quiet were what we were looking for, and Lazy Bean checked all those boxes and some!!

Stayed Jul 20, 2024Beautiful cabin and ranch. Andy was very friendly, communicative, and helpful. The weather was hot when we were there and the cabin has no AC, but the cabin stays pretty cool (especially the lower level). There was a storm the last night we were there and a widespread power outage, but Andy made sure we were ok.

Stayed Jul 18, 2024The Lazy Bean is a gorgeous cabin with stunning views! We came from Missouri to visit family and will undoubtedly stay there again. The cabin is very spacious, allowing us to host family in the evenings and not feel crowded. The kitchen is well stocked with most anything a person would need and there is a charcoal bbq for grilling. The host/owner, Andy, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well informed about the area. He has decor from around the world and books galore! We also rented the Hunter’s cabin for additional sleeping space but beyond the two bedrooms at the Lazy Bean, there is ample space for others to sleep as well. That being said, The Hunter’s Cabin was also exceptional and just a short walk away. We’ll be back! Thanks for everything, Andy!
