It's a very beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We ended up in Deer's Leap instead of Elk's Run but it was right next door. The layout of the cabin is what we expected, my biggest complaint about Deer's Leap are the INCREDIBLY HARD beds. It was so bad that we went to Kalispell to get a mattress pad. Sleeping on the floor would've been comparable to sleeping on the bed. Our kids chose to sleep on the recliner and the couch after the first night. Bring your own pots and pans. The items in the cabin are very scratched/peeling teflon. We bought a cast iron pan from the Merc up the road. Communication with the hosts was fine, they answered our questions quickly and politely. There was no where to stow away our clothes, like a dresser or wardrobe, for 5 days so they were basicslly strewn about the cabin while we were there. It was an amazing stay overall and we would stay again.

Beautiful area. We enjoyed a family weekend getaway, did some paddle boating, walked the dogs, played games, sat by the campfire. So relaxing and fun family time. The cabin had everything we needed and the beds were comfy!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It was warm, comfortable and we were provided everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The pond was frozen and we enjoyed skiing and walking around the property. The listing was just as shown on the web and the directions were easy to follow. Definitely recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle in the wimter season. Thank you!

The cabin was somewhat Spartan but had nearly everything we needed. They were some nice updates to it like the reclaimed wood and rustic metal decor. The view was incredible with big Swan Mountain range views and with a small deck overlooking a 7 acre lake. Only negatives: the shower was a bit small, the deck needs some work and the lake with all of the growth in it was a bit depressing... But all in all a nice getaway for a couple on a budget. The positives far outweigh any negatives. Plus the Smith family was very helpful and when you are in an area you are unfamiliar with that can be invaluable.

This place is all you need if you are looking for a no-frills unplugged experience in a beautiful, quiet location overlooking a sweet pond. The kitchen is set up for camping-style preparations, so if you have any specific needs--like a big pot and a ladle, etc--best to bring it. Also a Swiss army knife with a can opener on it will come in handy, as would a sleeping bag or extra blanket for cool evenings. Very nice owners, and easy checkout.

We loved the quiet, peaceful, and scenic setting of the cabin. The owners were fantastic and the location was convenient to the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park.
