We had a fantastic stay at this house with our family of four and our dog. The home is beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped. We especially loved the privacy and the many walking trails that were perfect for our dog to explore. We had a great beach day at Canoe dog beach but we highly recommend a paddleboard float from Grindrod to Secret Beach. The river is sandy and shallow, which was perfect for the kids and our dog to play in as we went downstream. It was a blast!

It's an adventure to navigate the switch back roads but absolutely worth it. And REALLY pay attention to the signs and heart's hanging from the trees. If ya don't It's more of an adventure. Lol For larger groups Lavender cabin where we stayed is perfect. Do note that if you have 12 individuals, you will be sharing beds. There was 8 of us and while 6 didn't mind, 2 got to have their own bed. There is confusion from the actual website and via Verbo surrounding somethings. For me it was the fire wood. I had purchased 20 ahead of time for the firepit and sauna. There is wood for heating the cabin free of charge but all wood is needed to be chopped by guest. Which is fine if you can. The confusion lied with my purchased wood because all wood was together under the cabin and we didn't use the firepit because it's a bit of a walk , uneven ground and rain.Instead we sat in the cozy little screened in patio with the fireplace 99% of the time. That fireplace is purchased wood. Once everything was clarified, I glady popped in more money. Anyway, its an amazing place and already planning next year's trip.

I stayed at the lavender house with a group of my best girlfriends for a relaxing and healing winter bachelorette. This place is a dream stay! From the gorgeous curated space to the incredible views/property, I cant say enough great things! On our checkout day, all the girls agreed that we should have booked longer. We will avsolutely be coming back!

The property is located within natural environment with lots of trees around. The Google maps is not able to track the property but follow the directions provided by property owner. You will not have TV but lots of books to read. If you are looking for good getaway then this is the place.

It was definately a winter wonderland with many trails to explore. The hosts were fantastic when we had an issue with water,it was resolved quickly. The kitchen needed some cleaning but it had everything we needed. It was a great family vacation one that will be remembered for a long time.

We stayed at the Lavender Cabin for 8 nights and it was magical. Don’t let the off grid, switch back roads scare you, once you arrive it is your own little piece of heaven! Secluded in the forest, surrounded by grape vines, chipmunks, lizards and woodpeckers you can enjoy the best view around! The house itself is amazing - the largest dining room table around will fit the whole family! We enjoyed many of the games and books and finished the puzzle we started on day 1. Our favourite room was the sunroom where we would enjoy our morning coffee with the lavender smells and plan the day. Maggie and Jeremey very helpful throughout the stay. We truly enjoyed the off grid experience - if you are looking to get away from city life and connect with your family, this is for you! Thank you Tin Poppy xoxox!!!

The home is beautiful, clean and has all the amenities you need. All of the beds have quality and clean linens and Maggie was extremely responsive to our needs. As I’m sure anyone can appreciate, the last thing you need after a long day of travel is to get lost in the bush. Don’t try to find this place at night and don’t follow google maps and don’t let the term, “tin poppy resort” confuse you. I will say the directions should state to follow turn right and follow the L’Arche Hills Forest Service road, as per the current sign. Despite the location/way-finding, it is a beautiful home and we enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing time at Lavender Cabin! It was really roomy and had a quirky layout that we really loved. The fireplace and downstairs wood burning stove kept us toasty warm and there was plenty of games and room to play instruments, so we had a few singalongs. The dogs were never underfoot and the kitchen was roomy enough for many cooks at one time. We were all able to get into the property without 4X4, but it was slippery and muddy, so that is definitely a good recommendation. All in all, a great family weekend for those who enjoy the outdoors.
