The Lakota Cabin was everything we needed—and more! The space was cozy, clean, and exactly as advertised, with every amenity thoughtfully provided. We were especially touched by the special details added to help us celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday. Those gestures truly made our stay feel personal and memorable. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind in the evenings, and the cabin created an ideal mix of comfort and relaxation throughout our visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be making arrangements to return. Highly recommend!

This was a perfect place for a cozy mom’s weekend. It was a beautiful vibe of modern cabin in the woods. The open concept floor plan allowed us to cook, read, and watch tv but stay connected. Location was ideal to visit New Market and some nice wineries.

My wife and I had a great pre-Thanksgiving getaway at this cozy cabin above New Market. It was a very quiet, private stay in a very well-stocked home with all the cooking gear you need, a Keurig, a smart TV, a great hot tub, a fire table, a new propane grill, and cozy beds. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat!

Everything was perfect… the place was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and very welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub twice and could tell it was very clean. The fire table outside was so romantic watching the autumn leaves fall. Thoughtful touches such as slippers, snacks, and a bottle of wine made us feel right at home. We would be thrilled to stay again in the future. The host was so responsive and helpful!

Perfect get away to find peace and recharge. Spent four nights at Lakota to escape the DC hustle and left refreshed. Bed was very comfortable as was the couch and outside furniture. Kitchen is well equipped. The cabin sits back from the main road and is obscured by trees from the road behind so plenty of privacy and quiet. The recently graded and smoothed access road is gravel which wasn't an issue with our SUV and we saw plenty of non-SUV vehicles going up and down (early September). Communication with the hosts was excellent. The town of New Market is about ten minutes to the west and offers a few things to do, a small general store, and several places to eath. Luray is 20 minutes to the east and has much more. Harrisonburg is 30 minutes south and has (almost) everything.

Great communication with Ilana and Mike in responding to any questions we had! Very quiet location nestled in the woods. Clean. Enjoyed the hot tub and fire table. It is a good 20 minute drive to the NP and to restaurants outside of New Market but we chose Lakota Cabin given it is centrally located in the valley and we were visiting primarily for the hiking at NP. For dinner we recommend The Chop House in Luray and Camino Real in New Market. Breakfast at Jackson’s Corner in New Market and The Magpie in Harrisonburg are both great choices. For wineries recommend Cross Keys for the wine, views and food.

We stayed at Ilana’s place for my fiancée’s birthday, and right from the start it felt like stepping into a friend’s home. The place is spotless and beautifully decorated, with every little thing you might need—fluffy towels, cozy linens, kitchen goodies, even board games for a lazy afternoon.Ilana was amazing. She sent a warm welcome message with her favorite local spots, checked in to make sure we were settled, and replied almost immediately whenever we had a question. You can tell she really cares about taking care of her guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better home or host, and we’d book here again in a heartbeat. Highly highly recommended!!!

This cabin is located well off the main road but close to town and major attractions. We visited the Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns and the Civil War battlefield and museum in New Market. It’s also not far from Cooter’s. If you are a Dukes of Hazzard fan you have to stop there. The cabin is very comfortable, well equipped and communication with the host was great.

Hands down one of the best properties I’ve ever been to! The cabin is cozy and welcoming and in the middle of a beautiful space with tons of privacy and calm. On first look, it seems like a quaint cabin, but inside it’s fitted with modern appliances and stocked up with everything you could possibly need. The attention to detail is truly off the charts. The bost, Ilana, is easily the most responsive and wonderful host ever, and her compassion and kindness are truly what make the experience all kinds of wholesome. She was super understanding about us delaying our checkout because we were snowed in, and offered help to plow through the thick snow. Bonus points that it snowed while we were there, which made the experience infinitely more rewarding and unforgettable. Highly recommend and MUST visit :)

This property was amazing!! Quiet, very homey feel. The hosts were awesome. Easy to getahold of, we got there and there was a breadmaking kit wrapped up in a present and a bottle of wine which was so thoughtful. The hottub was a nice touch as well as the fireplace on the porch as it sets a very romantic setting. House was very clean and bed was very comfy. I was obsessed with the country feel and decorations in the house. Definately will be returning. Would give more stars if allowed.

The Lakota Cabin was perfect for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The space was inviting and the decor calming and relaxing. We had everything we needed. Would like to stress that the host was one of the friendliest I have experienced with all of my stays within the VRBO community. She responded quickly with answers to my questions and also offered a chilled bottle of wine upon our arrival. I did arrive about 20-25 minutes before check in and the cleaning woman was just finishing up and she was super nice as well and showed me around the place (where to look for extra towels and kitchen-ware). We stayed for the week and it was so quiet, barely knew anyone was around us! We spent most days exploring the area and all of the history about the civil war--went to several battlegrounds and the museum. We also did a river float at the Shanadoah Outfitters and the people there were super friendly as well. It was beautiful weather the whole time there and the hot tub and fire table were awesome in the evenings. If you stay here, go to the Southern Kitchen and Jon Henry's General Store--lots of different things to buy there. We also enjoyed many restaurants in the surrounding towns. Go to Billy Jacks in Harrisonburg-best burger and wings, Edinburg Mill has an excellent chef's salad (and shopping there). Such a good time was had, really nothing to complain about, well worth every penny. Thank you Ilana and Mike for sharing your space with us, hope you enjoy the hotdogs we left for you in the freezer!

My husband and I stayed at Lakota Cabin to get away and celebrate our 30th anniversary. This was exactly what we had hoped our weekend would be! When we were greeted with a friendly card and celebratory bottle of wine we knew we were in for a treat! The lovely deck with the hot tub and fire table were just as advertised and the romantic evening lighting suited our needs. Everything was quite clean and tastefully decorated! The fluffy towels, comfortable bedding and cozy couches made more some lovely lazing about and we also took advantage of the board games stashed in the cabinet.:) We found several nice places to grab a bite as well as some fine dining options! Our only regret was that we didn’t have another night to stay! We will be back!
