Stayed Dec 19, 2025One of our favorite cabins by the lake! Very cozy & warm. It’s not a modern it’s fairly rustic but so charming & comfortable. We love it!! This is I think our 4th time renting this cabin

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We are pretty local to the Big Bear area so when I was looking for a family weekend getaway before in-person school start, this seemed like a great nearby option. We have a great time at the house and overall, I thought it was accurately described. The cleanliness of the windows and some cobwebs indoors was less than 5-star worthy but it did not take away from our experience. The place was smaller than I was thinking & that has to do with those wide angle lenses. Yes, the kitchen is small, like one reviewer commented, but it was perfectly accommodating for our family. The location was great & the view from that window made my trip. The only thing that took away from the location was the overgrown algae around the dock. Swimming was not possible but it didn't stop all my boys from enjoying the fishing. This place leans a little on the pricey side but I would stay here again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We rented this place for a last minute getaway this summer. We have a boat and a large family so it seemed worth the splurge. By the time tax and all their fees the rate was VERY expensive, more than double the usual rate. VRBO won't let me tell you what but this house is NOT worth that. Pros- nice quiet, dead end location. Beautifully landscaped. Good bedroom layout. Waterfront. Pretty view. Cons The master bedroom is not private. It has a strange mirrored window so that you can see the lake from the bed. During the day it's fairly opaque but at night anyone can look right into the bedroom. Very awkward since our kids had brought teen friends planning to sleep on the couch up there. They need a curtain! The kitchen is tiny and equipped with appliances, pans and dishware from the 1990s. The dock (which we paid a big premium for) is a rickety square platform in 2-3 feet of murky water. The photos show some beautiful docks but they don't go with this house. Its also shared so you're supposed to only use one side but so shallow the only way to tie up was to use the whole front of the dock. You can't swim from the water's edge. Its muddy muck with tall grass in the water. Dock doesn't extend into clear water so don't plan on that if you have kids. No AC for the summer months. We happened to rent during a heat wave and I was told fans (plural) would be provided. When we arrived one cheap box fan was set on the table but there are 3 bedrooms. It was stuffy and hot during the day. The master does have a ceiling fan that helped. I'd happily pay half of what we paid and stay here again but for what we were charged, I felt cheated. It was advertised as newer construction luxury rental but the house and furnishings are 20+ years old. The new owners must have bought it turnkey and they need to replace the kitchen pans and appliances, bedding, towels etc. before this is considered a luxury rental. Needs an upgraded dock too for real boats.
