Lakefront Paradise Chalet with Beautiful Views and Easy Walk to the Village

Place was great, dated but very comfortable lots of space, my boys had their own area on the 2nd floor. Lots of board games. view was amazing We will stay here again.

To begin, we never received any communication as to what we were supposed to do when we got to the cabin. Once there, the person that let us in, started demeaning the owner of the front property thus poking the bear creating an unnecessary confrontation and made us feel completely uncomfortable . He was a very nice man by the way and I hope he wins his grievance. Once inside we found dog pee on furniture and carpeting. The television areas were extremely dusty and we even found a fake finger nail near the dirty dining table. The home is just dated and really not that comfortable. The only good thing was the view and location. I went through Expedia in the hopes for reputable places but this a VRBO, a cancer to locals. Do better, because if I am paying an additional amount for cleanliness, it wasn’t it. They even have the nerve to ask you start the laundry for them.

We enjoyed our stay, the convenience of the Village being so close & staying on the lake was great.

The stay was wonderful. We were hoping for snow but the lack of it did not ruin our pleasure. Our grandkids had a terrific time. Thank you.

Lake view and access was excellent.Beautiful place and very peaceful.

Host was amazing at communicating. We had a late addition dog issue and she accommodated. Response time was quick and check in process was simple. The property is in need of a few updates. There was carpet in the upstairs bathroom and just overall kinda dusty and cobwebby. You could tell a cleaning service had come through before we came and efforts were made. Location is super convenient, walking distance from the village area.

The view was amazing, cabin was amazing.. would definitely stay again. My kids loved it. Thank you Kari for my kids first big bear experience.

This was a very enjoyable stay. Everything was laid out very clearly in a detailed email covering all aspects of the stay, from arrival to trash disposal. The house was as described and comfortably accommodated our whole family. The views are amazing. We’d definitely consider returning here in the summer, just to be able to enjoy that lake access.

The location of this property is what sold us on staying here. Being right on the lake is definitely a positive. Unfortunately, the owners have not put much effort into maintenance and it shows. It was an odd stay for our group of six adults. The check in process was not smooth, owner kept saying they had sent us a release form we had to sign in order to stay there but we had not received it. Finally we figured out it was a typo on their end the day before arrival which added stress to our trip. Upon arrival we found the condition of the house was far below average: stained old carpets, sticky floors, multiple lights/switches that didn't work, etc. Overall, the property is dark, dingy, and in dire need of updates (or really just some basic updates/maintenance). You are also required to take your own trash to the dump before leaving and other steps that you don't normally see at a vacation rental. The list of instructions and rules was long. And on our last morning, the furnace stopped working - eventually we found the faded sharpie instructions to reach inside the unit and press a reset button. That didn't work until we found exactly the right touch with the end of a chopstick to activate the worn out button. Overall, we didn't feel very comfortable or welcomed and while each of these things on their own are minor, they added up to a disappointing experience end to end. We were glad to have somewhere central to stay in Big Bear but would definitely not stay here again.

The location was wonderful and the hosts were very helpful with the check in. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean.The furnace vents were so filthy thst we didn’t want to put the furnace on. Consequently, we froze in the house because it was in the 30s in the morning. It is highly likely a health hazard. I have photos, if you need to see them.

Had the most amazing stay! Came here with my 6-month old son and senior dog. You can't beat the view of the lake the proximity to Big Bears shops and restaurants.

1.The property has a lake view. Really beautiful and relaxing place.2. 5 minute walk to the village, which is an awesome place to visit. And eat and drink amazing.3. Pet friendly, but just make sure to take them everywhere with you.Do not leave them unattended.Just my piece of advice, it's a great time.4. You could kayak for 25 my kids loved it.5. The upstairs unit with a loft is on the lake with an awesome view from the deck. Close to the village so we walked over for dinner or ice cream at the north pole. Not a newer fancy property but clean and a great value.

The stay was great. My girls loved staying there. We know due to location, it's not avoidable but there were so many spiderwebs outside we just were grossed out a tad. The initial check in instructions weren't received due to an email address typo and we waited outside for about 45 minutes but Kari was great when I called and she gave me the code so we could get settled. We loves the location, it's ideal and close to everything. The house/cabin was clean, stocked and very nice. My girls said they would definitely stay there again.

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The house is amazing and on the lake front. The house is decorated very cute. The house is walking distance to the village. Also if you want to rent a boat, Big Bear Marina is right next to the property. We highly recommend staying here and will definite come back again.

Big Bear has always been a special place for my husband and myself. He’s in hospice now and wanted to come one last time. This house was perfect for us. I wanted on the water, quiet and this house was perfect! The bed in the master was so comfortable. We slept so good. So many other sleeping areas and I hope to later bring the kids and grandkids up to stay.

Property was clean, right near the lake and very comfortable. My family enjoyed the stay. Only suggestion would be. If you’re going to really cook there take your own seasonings so you don’t miss anything.

Stayed at this cabin with my wife, 2yo and small dog. It is the perfect size and location could not be better. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!

Everything was fantastic

We had to get in contact with the host because the check in email wasn’t coming through. No problem as she sent it when she was able. The garage situation was a litttle odd. We couldn’t figure out how to get the door open because we checked in at night. We finally found the garage opener button on the side of the property and unlatched the garage footing open it. I like that they allowed us to bring our dog and that was nice to have him there. We wanted to watch a movie but the dvd player was broken. The place sleeps many but our biggest complaint would be the extremely stiff beds. The greatest amenity is the backdeck view. Beautiful. Lastly, VRBO hosts are required to list the video cameras or recording devices that may impede ones expectation of privacy. We counted 5 exterior cameras recording our every move and conversations. There was an exterior one in the driveway that kept tripping a loud audible alarm.

Right on the lake, plenty of room for a family of 5. Well-equipped kitchen. We had a great time visiting Big Bear!

We have stayed at this property many times and always have a great experience. It is clean and well maintained, but more of a rustic style. The location cannot be beat as it is right on the lake, on a quiet street, and a short walk or drive to town. It is more than enough room for our family of 4 and our dog. We always look forward to our next trip!

I stayed at this cabin with my family and a couple of family friends and it was very spacious and had a homey vibe. It does say that 7 people can stay here but 9 people can sleep here too. Definitely staying here again when I come back.

Our 2nd thanksgiving among other times here and always a great time. Absolute perfect location to Village, Marina and lake. My daughter was excited to be old enough to sign the guest book this trip. Hoping to be back next November.

My best friend and I just got back from a girls weekend at the Lakefront Chalet. The views are amazing, beds were comfortable and the proximity to town was invaluable. We had everything we needed for an enjoyable retreat.

Cabin was clean. Has a wonderful view of the lake. There were 5 adults and two teens. Dinning table just fit us nicely. Could use brighter lights in the living area, and maybe sitting arrangements for 7 people to watch TV. Definitely needs new flooring. We had a great time.

We had a wonderful stay . The house was larger then i was expecting . The view was amazing . The location was great, walking distance to the village . We rented kayaks on e day and a boat the next day . Sonenough

I was only able to stay 3 days of my 8 scheduled. The fire caused me to evacuate. The owner was great! She text me an said she would reschedule my trip. Otherwise, I was looking forward to staying the entire week. Place was great location. Carpet was filthy.

Right on the lake as advertised. Home needs some TlC. Baseboard fell off in bathroom. Rug was very stained. Knobs on many light switches missing. Back neighbors clearly not happy about renters. We really enjoyed our time there. Plenty of room to relax. Beautiful sunsets from the deck.

Lake front property for sure! Watching the sun rise/set over the lake is gorgeous. Very short walk to the Big Bear Marina and the Village. We loved being able to walk to so many destinations. Kari and Terry are super easy to work with and very accessible. Two small complaints about the property: 1) No air conditioning and during the summer it got pretty stuffy even with the fans running. 2) Coffee maker is a Keurig style and I would have brought some K-cups, but brought beans and grinder instead.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The highlight was in the evening and in the morning, sitting on the back balcony, looking at the beautiful lake and landscapes.
