Lakefront Kozy Cabin - Private Dock - Kayaks - Dog Friendly - Near Minocqua

We had a wonderful Christmas week there!! House was cozy and inviting. They had a tree and stockings welcoming us. We enjoyed the lake access as well for ice fishing. Definitely would book again in the summer months for other activiites

Excellent communication with the host family. They were able to accommodate our late request to bring our 2 fur babies (dog cost very affordable) and gave us recommendations for boat rentals. Johnson lake is a wonderful full rec lake that is smaller and wonderfully not busy! Perfect size for kayaking around, zipping the kids around on the tube, or swimming off the boat in the middle of the lake. We were able to catch a fair amount of fish off the dock and while on the boat. The house is small but perfect for a family of 4 (and 2 dogs) and packed with amenities like games, blankets, grill, fire pit, marshmallow sticks, etc. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of ceiling fans, floor fans, and a portable AC unit in the family room which my dogs adored! The only complaints I had was needing to drive the dogs to a walking trail or park since the house is located right off hwy 47, making it impossible to just take a walk directly from the cabin. Lastly they warned us of the sulphur smell/taste to the tap water, and it was prominent. Both of these “complaints” weren’t deal breakers for us and not a reflection of the host or our overall experience.

Cabin was nice. Had everything you could possibly need! No a/c and of course it was the hottest days of the season so far. Cabin was hot, very hot-83 degrees at night and hotter during the day! Owners did send 2 stand up fans to the house when they saw it was going to be so hot. Thank God it was windy! Shoreline was not good for swimming, very weedy and mucky. So with it being so hot and humid we couldn't swim. There were no steps to get down to the lake and the hill was pretty steep and uneven. It wasn't too much of an issue for us, but older folks would have a struggle up and down the hill I think. Saw a lot of deer on the property and around the entire lake. Deck was nice but could use an umbrella or some sort of shade for when the sun beats down on it. There was a firepit down by the lake at the bottom of the hill with firewood to use. We couldn't use it due to it being too windy for my comfort of having a fire. Overall it was nice and exactly what we expected except for the swimming. I think if the shoreline was raked a bit it could be nice. Plenty of parking and even a garage I think available? We didn't use it but there is one there. Lots of cameras on the property. I guess it's good for safety but it just felt kinda weird. Not sure if I'd stay again without air conditioning or a decent shoreline to swim. Otherwise it was perfect!

Very clean and very nice VRBO right on the lake. The hell down to the lake is not ideal. This place is very close to town and restaurants couldn't be a better place to have a getaway. If you're looking for a smaller place, it's amazing!

We loved the location and quiant cabin. Wish weather wouldve been better for kayaking. But they made sure to have them out for us just in case. THANK YOU. Everything was great.

We came up to try out the new skating glide. We enjoyed the hospitality and comfortable home. We would love to visit again.

This house is cute on the inside with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is very well stocked and the management company is easy to work with and very accessible. Although the house is on a busy road the lakeside is beautiful and having kayaks and a canoe is a nice benefit. We enjoyed the local golf courses and the supper clubs very much. It was a good week for us.

Kozy Cabin was just right for us and our well behaved dog. Right on a lake, good fishing from the dock and we really enjoyed the deck. We had no mosquitos bothering us which was a relief since back home the mosquitos were horrendous. Hwy 47 was busy and noisy at times and the water really stunk and had to use bottled water for everything. Overall, we had a great time at Kozy Cabin.

Our family of 5 plus dogs had a great time here!! We spent a lot of time enjoying the lake - kayaking, playing in the water and fishing. My husband was thrilled to catch a 41” musky off the pier! The kids loved catching bass, bluegill, and perch. And, our lab pretty much lived in the water:) It was also great to be so close to Woodruff and Minocqua towns. There were many family friendly places for us to visit. Overall, very fun stay with great memories made!

This place was everything we could’ve asked for to have a relaxing and fun family vacation. Great location as it’s close to town and restaurants but still feels secluded on a lake. We enjoyed relaxing in the cozy cabin on rainy days and being outdoors when the weather allowed. Fishing was great and we enjoyed campfires by the lake and the kayaks. The cabin had everything we needed and beds were super comfortable. Thanks Melissa, it was one of our top family vacations.

Cute, quaint cottage. Clean and welcoming. Close to town yet you get the feel of being secluded in the woods. Quiet lake and great fishing off the pier! Definitely would book it again.
