Stayed Jul 22, 2020We were very satisfied with the cabin on Gladstone. The owners made it very accommodable and relaxing for us adults and infants to enjoy our weekend there. The owner also was available by text if we had questions which made the communication process very easy. There was a nice fire pit along with stacks of wood we used every night. Sunnies, Pike and Bass were all caught off the end of the dock. Bedrooms and kitchen were clean and comfortable along with the bedroom in the garage. It's difficult to judge how far the weedline comes up to the shore every year, based on the amount of rain and sunshine, which we understood. The only thing I wish we would have had was a clean sandy area for the kids to play in but it was impossible to do so with the amount of weeds that were present. There is a very nice place across the lake we brought the kids to swim in a shallow, non weedy area. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider next summer. Thank you for the hospitality!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property is lovely and the lake beautiful. abundant with flora and fauna. Great to hear the loons at night and geese during the day. Baby squirrels provided amusing entertainment! Other birds were also entertaining. The cabin was well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. Great washer/dryer. Unfortunately for us, the weather in mid- September to Oct. 2 didn't hold. Much of the time rainy and gray. Would advise the owners to ramp up the heat in garage suite if it is rented again in Sept. as it was cold. Also for me and my hubby the slope to the dock was a little harder (in our 70's) but the kids, grandkids and great grandkids who visited enjoyed fishing off the dock for catch and release.. The stay allowed us to see the water and terrain and visit with friends and relatives so over all turne out well.

Stayed Aug 31, 2019Property was very nice, nicely appointed, very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Instructions throughout the house helped us to understand how to properly take care of the property during our stay. Everything we needed was provided for and the owner was courteous responsive and genuinely interested in making our stay a good one. The lake was beautiful quiet and the loons calling provided a very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed numerous rides on the Paul Bunyan bike path and Nisswa was only ten minutes away; a great town to visit for shopping and places to eat and drink. The people were friendly and kind. Nisswa is becoming one of our favorite Northern getaways from the heat and humidity of the Midwest.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This cabin is well-maintained, sparkly clean, and welcoming from the lovely “hello note” and basket of necessities to comfy beds, new appliances, plenty of comfortable seating and everything you need to enjoy Minnesota’s lake country. The lake is lovely, we enjoyed the loons, swam, and found it perfect for our kayaks. Jim and Ann are helpful and cordial hosts and have everything set up for guest enjoyment. They were available via text and email and were quick to answer questions. It was nice to have a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Lots to do in the area. The Paul Bunyan bike trail is 2 1/4 miles away and we enjoyed shopping in Nisswa, live theatre in Brainerd and lots of fun in the sun. Thank you Jim and Ann for sharing your piece of heaven in Northen Minnesota.

Stayed Jul 12, 2019Excellent property and location...the upgrades (new bedding, new kitchen appliances and dock) are awesome. Access to the washer and dryer was appreciated. We were able to catch fish right off the dock and enjoy sunsets every night. Very comfortable. We had an awesome stay.

Stayed May 24, 2019We loved our stay here - it was absolutely blissful. The location is calm and peaceful, with huge windows overlooking the water. There was a great fire pit right by the water that we used a few times, and we grilled out with the charcoal grill one night. We took turns cooking and every person who cooked commented that the kitchen was really well-stocked - we had everything we needed and more. It also accommodated multiple adults easily - the garage bedroom and bath is in a separate building, but that worked out really nicely for our group because it allowed for more privacy. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful retreat by the water, this is it.
